1. Characteristics
Nasty little plant. Dark green to brown, rough to the touch, smells positively foul. Barely a step up from fungi, it survives in humid environments. Most animals avoid it.
2. Life-cycle
Theoretically perennial, but in temperate climates, it sprouts during spring, after snow melts, or during particularly wet autumns.
3. Native to
Predominantly Serendipity, Adela and, in something of a limited fashion, can be found in Connlaoth, where they tend to survive all year 'round.
4. Habitat
Swamps, bogs, and sometimes in drafty caves, right alongside fungi
5. Uses?
When someone comes in contact with the plant, they may sometimes trigger a type of self-defense mechanism, which basically consists of the fogliff squirting a transparent, inodorous substance. In contact with skin (and on occasion, scales), this substance (known by some as fogbarf and in polite company as dizzicid) causes the victim shortness of breath to the point of asphyxiation. The effect wears off in minutes, but at times it is too late for the person involved, especially if they panic (an understandable reaction, when one finds oneself incapable of breathing). Dizzicid is only effective when fresh. If the plant is removed from its place or if the dizzicid is collected in jars, it becomes merely a viscous, yellow, foul-smelling substance, only good as fertilizer. So while it can not be very well used as an assassination tool, it can be quite helpful to farmers, especially to those who have learned to "milk" fogliff without suffering 'incidents' (or are indifferent to breathing).

1. Characteristics
Green leaves, petals range in colour from pale pink, yellow, orange, to bright red with golden hues. Also, they glow at night. It's generally assumed that something in the soil makes them glow, since efforts to introduce the plants in other parts of the world have been met with failures (perfectly ordinary flowers that do not glow. Or no flowers at all.) They are extremely delicate, as well as poisonous to livestock.
2. Life-cycle
6 months per year, usually blooming immediately after wet season ends.
3. Native to
Yoreiq Isles, though efforts have been made to introduce spritefires elsewhere.
4. Habitat
Jungle. Usually found in the bushes of other plants.
5. Uses?
In some peoples' traditions, spritefires are magical and bring good luck and prosperity to those who touch them. Sometimes, young women wear them in their hair during coming-of-age rites (in fact, girls sometimes set off to specifically find these flowers in preparation for their rites of passage and people tend to think more of them if they are successful... as would you). Also, spritefires are often placed above a newly married couple's door, to be lightly touched with their right hands when these two enter their home.
