Axieva rolled her shoulders as that tingle of power crept through her, and with a sharp-toothed smile up at her mate, she cracked her knuckles. Magical barriers, hm? Very clever, but not clever enough.
"I am not concerned," she said simply, confident as ever. "I can take them. They are only humans."
And so she stepped forward, this time feeling the pull of the magic as it whispered to turn away, but now she was aware of its suggestion and kept her eyes forward, kept moving, kept pushing onward. Her skin prickled, the hair standing up on the back of her neck, as she felt herself go through some sort of barrier she couldn't see, and as she passed through, she could soon also see and hear and smell things that had been masked from her before.
The moans of a female, the grunts of a male, the smell of mating. There was a camp right before her, and there they were--a younger doe fast asleep, and two other humans rutting together, but not for long.
Something alerted them, just as Rit predicted, and soon the light-haired male had scrambled off of the female, weapons drawn and body in a fighting stance. Axieva snarled, baring her teeth and unfurling her wings to make herself look bigger, ready to spring into action--but something in the air, just beneath the smell of mating, caught her nose, and her eyes narrowed as she stared at the man.
And recognized him.
She blinked in surprise, wings folding again and ears perking up. "Dirk?"
