Iris had fled Cerenis as quickly as she could. She'd packed what she could carry on her back and split as soon as that awful man had left her, hitching rides on wagons where she could, and traveling on foot when a wagon wasn't an option. It was dangerous and stupid, perhaps, because she was not only a woman but was blind, but she couldn't remain in Cerenis. That was far more dangerous and fear was a mighty powerful motivator.

She needed to get home.

Thankfully, she'd traveled these roads many times before with her troupe so she had a general sense of where she was and where she needed to go. She stuck to the well-traveled roads and made sure to find lodgings before dusk, traveling with another person when she could find someone who was heading in the direction she was. She might be a blind woman, but she'd grown up with thieves and con men--and was one herself, really.

She wasn't without tricks and knowledge.

The last wagon driver had let her off in Lindolen, where he was picking up some tea. It was a convenient drop-off point. She could find lodgings here easily and perhaps find someone who she could ride with. Although she'd never been there before, well, it would be an adventure! Safely away from Cerenis, she had a little time to kill, and she'd heard the city was renowned for its art. While she couldn't see it, it still seemed like the sort of place where she might be able to pick up some items for her own craft. Maybe some new candles...provided they didn't break.

Caught up in exploring the town (and purchasing some candles despite her better judgment--she couldn't pass up the price!), it took a little while for Iris to realize that she'd somehow lost her way. Which, of course, she figured out when she wanted to head back to an inn she'd scoped out earlier. Of course. Which was nothing unusual; it happened often. But it was still annoying; she should have been paying closer attention to where she was going.

With a loud sigh, feeling her stomach grumble angrily at her, Iris trudged along--and blinked in surprise when the tip of her staff hit a bush, rustling it loudly. A...bush? Where the hell was she? The sweet scent of flowers filled her nose along with a fresh, earthy scent that was quite different from the general city-smell.

Reaching out a hand slowly, Iris brushed her fingertips along the top of a hedge. Oookay. Yeah.

She was totally lost, now.

"Uh...hello?"

Petra breathed deeply, enjoying the scent of flowers in her garden. Thankfully, the sun wasn't too high in the sky, so she was still able to enjoy the garden- she didn't have to take refuge from the sun quite yet. However, she was sticking close to the large tree that dominated this corner of the garden, surrounded by bushes and flowers. A few books were scattered underneath it, but she wan't going to pay them any mind for now.

For now, her mind was on that corner of flowers and hedges. She gazed with a critical eye at the riot of colors, and decided that next year there would be a different scattering of flowers.

If there was a next year.

Her hands tightened, and she turned to check out another section when the hedge behind her rattled with the sound of something hitting it. Petra turned and froze, wondering what -or who- could have been there. Thieves? Brigands? It was probably her imagination running away with her, but Petra couldn't help but imagine that there was something terrible coming for her.

Luckily, her fears weren't realized. While her fists had curled into her embroidered skirts, a cautious voice called out a greeting. She was silent for a few moments as she edged past the edge of the hedges that she had planted so long ago, and gazed at the woman who had said them. "H-hello?" Petra called out, just as cautiously. "What are you doing here? Are you lost?"

It was probably a stupid question, but she couldn't think of anything else to say! It had been ages since she had spoken to someone randomly. Interacting with people just wasn't her forte. Not now, at least. Not after... Petra shoved that thought out of her mind and concentrated on the person in front of her.

Iris nearly jumped when a voice answered, part of her having not expected anyone to actually be here. But it just sounded like a young girl, so she relaxed and smiled, turning her face in the voice's direction.

"Heh, maybe a little," she admitted with a sheepish grin, rubbing the back of her neck with her free hand, staff tucked against the crook of her opposite arm. Oi, she couldn't help it. She was proud through and through and it was hard to admit she'd messed up. Dusting off her skirts--which were colorful and, as she'd been told on more than one occasion, hardly proper as they showed her bangle-ringed ankles--she fell leaned against her staff.

"I s'ppose it's a little silly, fer a Seer ta lose 'er way, but I wouldn't say we're ever really lost. Everythin' happens fer a reason. T'was likely fate tha' brought me here." Her brow wrinkled and she tilted her head. "Where is 'here'?"

Petra had to pause for a moment to make sure she understood the elder through her accent. The old lady- no, the white hair was misleading, this woman was barely older than she was- seemed to be genuinely lost. Her lips quirked up slightly. "Yes, I suppose it could be fate that a seer-" Petra broke off slightly, her mind working around the word. A seer? That could... that would... maybe... "That a seer became lost in my gardens," she finished.

Her head tilted to the side, pondering what to do next. This was indeed a blessing, if the seer's skills were true. Petra could feel a tightness in her chest as she considered the possibilities. "Please, come and rest a bit. You've been travelling, haven't you?" It was worth a shot! The brightness of the clothing and jewelry wouldn't be noticed by anyone- no one really bothered Petra when she was in her little sacred space. And perhaps she could enlighten Petra as to her fate, or a possible cure. "Please. I would enjoy the company."
