Alegretto

The knocking on the door startled Rahib out of his lecture. It wasn't too much of a problem, he'd been finishing up his explanation, but the interruption still peeved the clockworker. He grumbled a bit to himself, and was checking his watch to see how much time had passed when he heard a dull thunking noise. He looked up, figuring that Issen had hit the table as she rose, and he noticed the cup of tea falling from the table to shatter on the ground below.

Much to his surprise, the shattered vessel left tea all over the ground where it broke. From the way it was falling, he would have thought that any tea inside would have gotten on Issen. It was curious, but Rahib didn't pay it too much time as he too rose. His watch was telling him that it was past three and time to head back. He walked toward the door, both to see who was at it and to ask Issen if she wanted to follow him back to his shop.

Winters-Feather

The message was a simple, but joyous one- a friend's wife was pregnent, and there was to be a celebration the next night. Issen gushed as she thanked the boy, and paid a tip as she was taught to do. As she was about to shut the door, she noticed Rahib behind her.
"Oh," she said in a lowered voice, a little startled.
"Are you... returning to your shop?" she asked with an eager grin.
