Bored beyond belief, as he had a very short attention span at times, Hatame's wanderings eventually took him to the gates of the great castle. He smirked slightly, and absently fingered the hilt of a dagger he had taken from some human thugs that had tried to mug him. Bah. Silly humans. He had nothing on him worth any value, and even if he did...well, it was value-less to him. He put no stock in human creations.

So, some might wander why he had made a reputation for himself as a thief, if nothing human was of value for him. The answer was quite simple...to occupy his time. It was a challenge, at times, and dangerous. Sometimes, blood was spilt and wounds were opened, and Hatame lived especially for those occasions. He lived to cause pain, to hurt...maybe, one day, if he caused enough suffering, his own suffering would be allieved...

He abandoned the main gates and slunk around toward the side of the castle, an area occupied by many concealing trees and plants that was even more concealing in the moonless dark. He could have easily shape-shifted into his gryphon form and flown over the gates, but doing so would have been risky. Not only would it bring more notice to him, but shapeshifting was incredibly painful for him. Using magic of any sort caused him pain, and could kill him if he wasn't careful.

Gripping the sides of the fencing there, he hoisted himself up carefully, and once a guard turned his back, he thudded silenly to the ground.

He dodged quietly among the shadows, pausing whenever he heard or saw a guard, and resuming his pace once he was sure it was safe. He waited more, and as the guards changed shifts and walked in opposite directions from one another, one going in and one going out, he flew through the door after the one entering and behind the nearest corner.

This game of dodging went on for quite a while, until he finally found the chance to flee up the stairs. He'd never before attempted to steal from a castle or even entered a castle in his life, but whenever the impulse to do something struck him, he did it. And that meeting he'd had with the White Gryphon earlier had left him feeling even more rash and impulsive...

it was here somewhere. she knew it was. the bedchamber she was currently rumaging through looked like a hurricane had ripped through it. actually, no hurricane, but Sakkata. a very mad Sakkata. a man in his night shirt sat against a wall, tied and gagged and looking extremely frightened. "think you can take what is not yours..." she grumbled, ripping out another drawer full of clothing and rumaging through it. stark white hair was tied back in a long braid, only her bangs hanging in her face. a strand of hair hung by her ear, decorated with colored beads. at this point, she looked perfectly human. her skin was well tanned, at least, the parts you could see. a blue vest, fully buttoned up, covered her upper half. her legs were covered by semi baggy cloth pants tied at her ankles. a few silver bands adorned her slender yet muscular arms. a red jewel was set into her forehead and glinted every so often.

she easily tipped the entire dresser over when she did not find what it was she wanted. piercing ice blue gaze was turned on the man, who immediatly began to whimper behind his gag and try to squirm away. a grimace formed on Sakkata's facade as she stalked up and grabbed the man, ripping the gag from his mouth. "where is my sword!?" she growled at him. the man trembled and gulped. "i...i don't know miss! honestly i don't!" his voice unusually high. she opened her mouth to ask once more when a sound came to her incredibly acute hearing. gaze slowly turns to the slightly ajar door, watching closely to see who it was coming up the stairs.

Hatame paused suddenly as voices, feminine and masculine, drifted toward himâ€"and the sound of large objects crashing to the floor. At least, it sounded like crashing to his keen ears.

Hmm...maybe someone beat me to it... he thought. He didn't think royalty would treat their own objects as they sounded like they were being treated.

He peered cautiously over the stairs railing, and seeing guards patrolling below, grimaced. He couldn't go back down now...

So, instead, he crouched quietly where he had stood, watching the door.

she sniffed a few times, her seemingly human nose picking up that which no human could. a small smirk formed and she glanced back at the man she was currently holding off the floor. "tonight just really ain't your night, is it?" she mused, grinning. the man gulped and shook his head hurridly, not wanting to anger this strangely powerful woman any more then she already was. "now lets make this quick. where is my sword?" her voice was calm, but held a deadly edge to it. the man suddenly saw something in her eyes, something that made him turn even whiter then he was. "under the bed!" he squeaked. "the mattress!" she smiled much to kindly and promptly dropped him, his weight hitting the floor with an audible thud. he quickly squirmed away from her, trying to put distance between them. Sakkata went over to the bed and ripped the mattress off. there, there was her sword. "ah, good, you weren't lieing." she picked up the beautifully crafted weapon, the shining silver inlaid with gold. she carefully slipped it back into its scabbard and strapped it around her waist. she then came back up to the man, arms crossed. "well, you made me go through alot of trouble tonight." the man gaped at her, then whimpered yet again, shaking his head and cowering. Sakkata scowled. "pitifull human..." she growled, then mentally smacked herself for all but blowing her cover to hell. great. oh well, it wouldn't matter much now. lazily she held one hand towards him, palm facing his quivering form. "thank you for your, er, help. good night and good bye." a sudden light errupted infront of her palm and blasted out ward, killing the man before he had a chance to scream. his charred body fell over, limp and lifeless. the spirit ropes binding him dissapeared. Sakkata glared down at him, then smirked. "what a waste of energy. erg..." she turned towards the door and came up to it, easily swinging it open. acute icey eyes quickly move to spot the evesdropper, her malicious smirk still in place. "hello."

Hatame frowned and stood, crossing his arms over his chest. His nose wrinkled at the smell of charred flesh, and he grimaced. Not at the fact that someone had been murdered, but because it had been done so obviously.

"Hello," he greeted quietly, brilliant green eyes narrowed. "Pleasure to meet you. Now, if you don't mind...out of my way."

He could hear the guards coming; anyone would have heard that racket!

Sakkata held no fear for the guards here. human though she may look, she was far from it. and now that she had her sword back, there was little any normal human could do to harm her. especially if she was forced to take her true form, and that didn't happen often. both white eyebrows arched at his words, her smirk now gone. ice gaze shifted from the man to the sound of guards coming up the stairs. "hmm, looks like i attracted some attention." she snorted and scowled, one hand resting on the hilt of her sword. she grinned at the stranger and stepped aside. "don't think its such a pleasure to meet me, it could be a mistake." she said softly, allowing him access to the shambled room. her free hand was already facing palm up, a flicker of blue fire forming. fire and lightning, her specialties. the first of the guards appeared and she sighed, the flame growing larger. "lets make this quick, shall we?" the flame of blue light burst from her hand and hit the man dead in the chest, tossing him a good feet backwards and into the guard behind him. she summoned another blue fire ball easily and held it ready, waiting for the guards to come at her. "there's a few drawers with some jewels and gold in them if that's what you're after." she called to the stranger, both eyes still trained on the threat ahead.

He looked at her blandly for a moment, then shrugged and ducked into the room and toward the drawers. He rummaged through them quickly, and shoved the jewels that appealed to him most in his pockets. Gold and silver was of little value to him. Glittering, colorful jewels appealed much more to him as opposed to the plain and sometimes garish colors of silver and gold.

When he was satisfied, he quickly returned to the hall and drew the knife he had come to possess...and looked on at Sakkata with something close to envy. Magic. She could use magic, and so freely...and he couldn't. Not without suffering intense pain, and possibly death, he couldn't. Bloody curse...

another blast of strange blue flame burst forth, hitting another guard and nearly melting the armor he wore. a scowl formed at this revalation. "hmm, i must be getting rusty..." she muttered. most armor was melted rather quickly with her magical fire. oh well, she had electricity. and it was oh so much more fun to use. a malicious smirk came back to her tanned facade. both hands held close together, palms facing. "time for some fun." electricity crackled back and forth between her palms. she waited for the perfect moment, icey orbs fully concentrated on those before him. strangely acute hearing picks up on the stranger's movements. "i'll be done in a sec, then leaving shouldn't be much of a problem." the lightening crackled and burst foreward in a massive, empressive show. several were caught in its destructive blast, electricuted to death. the smell of charred flesh filled the air and Sakkata made a gagging noise. "never a nice smell..." she muttered. the sound of even more guards finally began to worry her. "ugh, this is a waste of power." she muttered, letting her hands drop. she glanced over at the door and the stranger. "well, i got my own alterante escape route. hope you do to." she smirked and moved past him and back into the room, making a beeline for the window. throwing it open she looked back. "i'll be at the bottom with my magick if you really get into a jam and need to jump. name's Sakkata, by the way." she then turned and jumped, the drop a good two or three stories. and yet she landed easily and rolled, standing back up perfectly unharmed. gaze was once again cast back up at the window, incase he really did jump. she could help with the fall if needed with her magick.

His green eyes widened in shock, and his jaw almost dropped before he could help it as she leaped out the window. Was she mad!? Well, no matter. He had no time to ponder the answer as the guards were closing in on him, and he only had a single dagger.

Normally, he was skilled when it came to battle, and he had been even better in the past before he was punished. But against a myriad of armor-plated and armed guards with only a dagger to fight with...he'd be lucky if he could take down one!

Muttering a string of curses concerning the mysterious girlâ€"his own escape route was long since cut off...and it wouldn't have been if she hadn't been here making such a scene!â€"he followed her example and made a mad dash toward the window Sakkata had gone through, sheathing his dagger as he went; jumping through the window would be bad enough, but he didn't want to add the possibility of killing himself with his own dagger by landing on the blasted thing!

He paused by the sill and peered cautiously out. Damn, it was high, but...oh well. Broken bones and pain were no new thing to him, and that was better than capture. He hoisted himself up easily and...

...fell backwards instead of foreward, head cracking back hard against the top of the sill, as a gauntleted hand snagged him by the back of the shirt and pulled him roughly back through the window.

He had only a few moments to be dazed before he was hauled back to his feet, his hands were forced behind his back to be clamped in irons, and he was "escorted" away...

OOC: Bah, I feel sadistic today.

(heh, good thing Sakkata isn't technically evil. she's just...violent.  heehee)

a small frown formed as she watched from below, amazing vision picking up everything. she jerked slightly as he was captured, bead decorated hair chinking slightly against her shoulder. "well, that could of gone better. ugh..." she shook her head, moving up to the wall. she had better help out, since she was the one who pretty much caused this mess in the first place. now to get back in.... the front gate would be impossible, so the only was was back the way she came. great, this should be loads of fun. the only way she'd be able to climb this was if she let herself partially transform into her true self. good thing she wasn't wearing shoes. her finger nails suddenly grew, becoming pointed and hard, almost like flat talons. her feet also shifted, becoming increasingly draconic. but she didn't let anything else transform, she only needed her feet and hands. "okies, and up we go." she smirked and jumped up, reaching amazingly high, and jammed her hands into the stone. her feet were soon to grip the rock as well. her movements were quick and graceful, carrying her up the wall at an alarming pace. in no time she was climbing back through the window. letting herself shift back to fully human, she glanced around the ranshacked room, icey orbs watching for danger. she'd have to rely on her hearing for this one. slowly she left the room and listened, waiting for a clue as to where they had taken the man. she hated rescues....
