The months that had passed from her disappearance to her arrival back in Orchy passed by her in a blur. She was so disconnected with things, so many people commented on how different she looked, how washed out, and how concerned they were for her. On top of that, Valia had grown quite ill the first few weeks they were back, and though she desperately wanted to hug her son and get close to him, fear he'd catch whatever illness she had kept her away, and gave her a good excuse to confine herself to her room.
But no matter how much sleep and medicine the doctor prescribed, Valia's illness just wasn't going away, and as she moved about uncomfortably on her bed, she felt her breasts rubbing oddly within her dress. FIghting with the laces, she tried to get them to a more comfortable position when she paused in front of the mirror, and noticed...
Were her breasts this big before? They looked so swollen...
And the last time she had recalled having boobs THIS gigantic was when she had...
Her eye's went wide.
The last time this happened, she was..

And the last time she was pregnant, she was deathly ill.
And an even worse wave of nausea became her, and soon her legs gave out as she vomited all over the floor.
Gabriel had been concerned about Valia getting ill so shortly after coming home, but where people commented with concern of his wife's health, they said he was looking much better. Having her home safe certainly had helped him sleep better, and he'd stopped drinking almost entirely. With Valia spending all her time sequestered in their rooms, Gabriel was spending much of his time with his son. Although he very frequently checked on Valia. It was hard for him not to smother her with too much attention, but he was trying very hard to give her enough space to readjust.
Just as he was approaching the room he shared with his wife, Gabriel heard the sound of vomiting and rushed forward, pushing open the door he saw that Valia had made a bit of a mess and was on the floor. Turning his head to yell into the hall, he called for someone to fetch the doctor and for a maid to come clean up a spill.
Hurrying into the room he knelt by Valia's side and tried to help her up. "Valia, darling, are you alright? Is the nausea getting worse? Let's get you back into bed, the doctor will come as quick as he can."
Valia wanted to speak, but merely she groaned and did not protest her husband helping her to bed. Though once she was laying down, her eyes welled up with tears as she began to sob.
Gabriel immediately crawled into bed with Valia, alarm on his face as he pulled her into a protective embrace, hands moving over her back in soothing motions. "Valia, love, beautiful goddess, shh. Calm down, darling. Talk to me. What's wrong? Whatever it is it'll be okay. I'm here."
"Gods, Gabriel!" she sobbed, her entire body shaking. "I'm pregnant. I know I'm pregnant. Those... those animals... the child it...."
And she couldn't finish her thoughts as she choked on more sobs.
All the color drained from Gabriel's face hearing that one word.
Pregnant.
Could it really be true? Valia's first pregnancy had been extremely hard on her. The complications could have killed her. Gabriel had nearly lost her in more ways than one with the birth of his son. There was fear as he held her tighter, but fury also bubbled up. That the beasts that had taken her had raped her was not exactly a secret, but they hadn't just raped her. They had impregnated his wife.
There was no doubt about that. If the baby was his she wouldn't be showing signs yet. Tongues would wag. No. He wouldn't allow it. Gabriel was not going to lose her again when he'd just gotten her back.
Holding her protectively he continued to try to soothe her with the motions of his hand, his voice soft and gentle. "It's going to be okay, my heart. I know you're afraid, and that's okay. I'm going to take care of you. I love babies, remember? We're going to have another beautiful baby, Valia. A little brother or sister for Tyler, won't that be wonderful?"
But Valia could not share in his enthusiasm as she buried her face into him, holding him tight, as she cried.
Gabriel sighed softly as he held her, placing a soft kiss on the top of her head as he did the only thing he really could do - be there. A very soft sound drew his eyes to the door where a maid had appeared and dropped into a deep curtsy. His green eyes narrowed and he made a subtle shooing gesture that had the poor girl scrambling out the door. They still remembered his fearsome temper during Valia's absence.
"I love you, Valia." He said with a soft sigh, nuzzling his face into her hair as his eyes closed tiredly. There was always something.
As her sobs began to decrease, she managed to croak out, "And I love you."
ANd she truly meant it as she focused those pink eyes up at him.
"What are we to do? If the doctor confirms it.."
As she was certain he would...
"What do you mean what are we to do? If the doctor confirms you are pregnant you will immediately be put under his supervised care and we will make sure you have everything you could possibly need for both you and our baby. What else would we do?" Gabriel asked, looking down at her with a soft smile, there was worry in his eyes, but he couldn't deny, or hide, that some part of him was happy.
Valia could only pout.
"But... but..." she sniffled. "It isn't yours.... People... they'll know."
They'll talk...
Gabriel looked at her for a moment before scoffing. "Of course it is mine, Valia. You are my wife, that is your baby, which makes it my baby. If someone has other ideas they can take it up with me."
The look that entered his eyes indicated it would be very unwise for someone to question him on that matter.
Though he had a fiercesome expression, Valia was only slightly fearful of it. But she was more fearful of the truth.
"But you know it'd be theirs," she replied, her lips quivering. "And for all we know, I could give birth to a monster!"
"Valia, look at me," Gabriel said firmly as he took her chin gently in his hands to make sure his green eyes were looking into her pink ones, "I love you, you're not going to give birth to a monster, you're going to give birth to our son or daughter. Whose seed took in your womb doesn't matter to me as much as knowing that baby is part of you does. This isn't your fault, and it isn't that baby's fault. I will love them, and you, the same as if they were born of my own blood. I promise."
"But Gabriel...." she said, eyes keeping to his as her's bubbled with fresh tears. "The man... the thing that raped me was a monster."
"That doesn't mean the baby will be." Gabriel tried to reassure her. What could they do if it was true? There was no way to know until the child was born. If she spent the entire pregnancy worried about it there would be unnecessary strain on both her and the baby. "Valia, please trust me. Everything will be okay. I'm going to make sure of it."
And with those words, she simply clung to him, praying fervently they would be okay. This was all of her fault, all of it. And now she had to pay the price for her foolishness, and so did he.
Gabriel just held onto his wife silently for several moments before a soft knock came at the door, followed by the voice of the doctor.
"My lord, my lady, I was sent for?"
Sighing he turned and kissed her cheek, smoothing a hand down her back gently before giving a gruff 'enter'.
The doctor walked in, eyeing the mess on the floor before stepping carefully around it on his way to the bedside. "Is the medicine not helping? Perhaps we will have to try something stronger."
"My wife is convinced she is with child." Gabriel said quietly before smiling down at her in what he hoped was a reassuring manner.
Not a fool, the doctor's brow furrowed as he looked between the pair. He could see Valia's wince, the way her disposition had changed before he silently approached.
"Let me take a look at you to verify that, hrm?" he asked Valia delicately. She only nodded weakly in response and he gestured for her to sit on the edge of the bed. He checked her over, head to toe, and found himself confirming her suspicions.
"It seems she very well could be with child. In that case, her condition is now most delicate. She'll have to remain indoors, as she is healing from the shock, as well as will be carrying a child within. It would be best she also not travel often, and excitements kept to a minimum. I only suggest this as I don't want to hurt either her or her possible expectant."
Gabriel sat patient and silent all through Valia's examination. The doctor's confirmation of a growing child in his wife's womb had the lord letting out a held breath. Thinking and knowing were two very different things. Another child. This one not of his blood. No. His child. On that point Gabriel would not, could not, budge.
"Thank you, doctor. My wife and my unborn child will, of course, be receiving the very best care. I will personally see to it that she gets enough rest for our baby's welfare." He made sure to put an emphasis on his possession and claim to the child Valia was carrying. The doctor would of course realize that the baby couldn't possibly be his, but if the man valued his position - and life - he would keep his mouth shut on the matter of paternity.
The doctor gave a nod.
"Is there anything else you need?"
But Valia kept quiet, eyes to the ground.
"Don't say a word to anyone about this yet. I don't want my father hearing it from someone else. I will tell him myself." Gabriel knew that Micah wasn't going to take this well. Best for him to speak with him first, although he knew there was likely to be a fight.
At the mention of her father in law, Valia tensed and fear rushed through her veins like ice. Micah.. she knew how much he was displeased with her marriage to his son, and this? She had to wonder if he wouldn't force her out of this marriage because of such a disgrace. And she felt tears sting her eyes at such an idea.
Gabriel ushered the doctor out as quickly as he could, shutting the door wearily after making sure there weren't maids eavesdropping. What a day this was turning out to be. He'd have to speak to his father very soon, a bit of gossip that juicy was bound to get out quickly. Returning to the bed he pulled Valia into a hug.
"It's going to be okay. I promise."
It was at his embrace that the tears began to fall. She simply clung back to him.
"Oh, if only you could promise such things!"
"I am promising such a thing." Gabriel said quietly, holding his wife gently to his chest in his attempt to comfort and reassure her. He would take care of her and keep her safe, no matter what. Hadn't he proven that time and time again? Of course if he had done his job better they would not now be in this position, for his wife would never have been kidnapped and raped to begin with. It still hurt him deeply to know how much she had suffered.
Valia trembled, both comforted and stressed by the scents of his body. She grit her teeth, still shaking as she sobbed.
"I don't deserve you."
"Shh. Don't say such things, my heart." Gabriel murmured, his lips brushing across her forehead as a hand stroked soothingly up and down her back. "I know, why don't I have a maid come draw you a nice hot bath while another cleans up the little mess? You'll feel much better afterwards."
Valia could only agree. She hardly knew just what to do with herself, and took her time in the bath, even allowing the maids to add more hot water so she could continue to soak. By the time she was done, her eyes grew heavy and she felt numb again, and was quickly guided out of the bath, dried with plush towels and dressed in a simple sleeping gown.
Being lead back to her bed, she wasted no time getting in beneath the covers, keeping her back to her husband, as she was still too listless of her emotions and felt if she spoke, it would remind her and draw her back into that nightmare all over again.
Gabriel knew his wife would take a long time in the bath. As soon as she was settled by the maids he left the room to find his father. There was a brief, but very unpleasant conversation. Although "conversation" might be pushing the definition. There had been screaming and insults thrown on both sides.
However, by the time Valia came to bed, Gabriel was back, sitting quietly on the edge of the bed. His coat had been carelessly discarded on a chair, and his shirt was partially undone. When she laid down he turned to her, but of course she had her back to him. It still hurt for her to be so callous, but he tried to be understanding of her tumultuous emotions after the abduction - and now it was even worse.
With a sigh he lifted the covers enough for him to slide under next to her, placing a hand gently on her shoulder. "Did the bath help you feel a little better, love?"
She flinched at his touch and found herself frowning. She didn't know what to say, but simply and softly replied, "A little." She nestled in a bit into the covers, hoping he'd get the idea she wanted to be left alone-
But another part of her heart ached to be held by him.
Funny how much such a tiny gesture could hurt so much. Gabriel tried to respect Valia's space, he tried to be patient. Just how much room did she need? Was he going to watch her withdraw from him again?
Fuck no.
He wasn't losing her again. Ignoring her flinch or the way she tried to burrow away from him into her covers, Gabriel wrapped an arm around Valia's waist and pulled her back against his chest. He was sick of being ignored by his wife when all he wanted was to love her.
He nuzzled his face against the back of her neck, holding her firmly so she couldn't wiggle away and be her hateful, huffy self. Well she could, but she'd have to do it while snuggled in his arms.
"I love you, my beautiful, stubborn goddess." Gabriel spoke softly.
At the gesture, she stiffened. But at the words, she broke. Her body shook suddenly, hot tears slipping down her cheeks. She curled up into Gabriel, face buried into him while keeping herself secure in his arms, but still unable to look at him.
"Angsar's name, Gabriel, however can you love me?"
For she too, did love him, in her own way that a woman such as she could. But she couldn't shake the nightmares just yet, and clung to her husband, clung to whatever he stood for that could offer her any semblance of hope.
"Love is beyond reason and hardly rational, Valia. I love you because I love you." Gabriel squeezed her closer, holding her tightly and burying his face in her hair as she cried.
There had been so much crying lately.
His lips moved to her forehead, kissing her softly. He wished he could chase her tears and nightmares away.
The soft kisses made her whimper, and she found her lips seeking his.
"I wish the monster inside me wasn't... and that things were back to how they had been."
Before children. Before...
everything!
"Can't go back." Gabriel murmured against her lips as he kissed her sweetly. He could definitely understand wanting things to go back to the way they were, but he also knew it was pointless to wish for the impossible. "Let's focus on making a better forward."
He brought a hand up to gently grasp the back of her neck as he pulled her into a heated kiss. Gabriel had missed Valia, and even getting her back had been bittersweet. She wasn't the same woman that had left him or the same one that he had married, but damnit she was still his Valia.
The way he kissed her still held all the passion, need, and love that it always had.
All of the feelings sizzled within her belly from such a kiss, which eventually rised up into a trembling whimper. She kissed back, and kissed back with need, wanting nothing more than to get lost in the moment, as she clung to him fervently, with lips and hands.
Gabriel become lost in one searing kiss after another. His entire body trembled softly with need. Hands moved almost without thought, cupping her face, gently gliding through her golden hair, running over her arms, sides, and back lovingly. Just touching her filled him with pleasure and further ignited a burning desire.
With a soft gasp he finally pulled his lips from hers, deep green eyes staring down at her with a mixture of love and lust. "I love you so much. I need you so much. Please, Valia, let me make love to you. Let me drive away the memory of them."
Though still wracked with emotions, the scale easily tipped and her lips met hastily to his.
"Yes.." she murmured, kissing him again. "Gods yes. Please take me.. fuck me.." she begged, her voice turning into a needing whimper.
That was all the encouragement Gabriel needed!
He threw the covers off of them and climbed between her legs, hands hastily grabbing and pulling at Valia's nightgown, bunching it up at her waist to get it out of his way. It only took a moment for him to get his pants undone and enough out of the way for him to sink himself into her sex completely.

Valia's eyes went wide, but a fond glittering sparkled across them as she looked into his eyes.

"You want hard?" His hand was still tangled in her hair, his voice low and gravelly. She wanted to be fucked hard. So fuck her hard is what he did.

After a long moment of just laying there, she found herself whispering, "I love you." And was very conscious of it, even though she was just about to slip off to sleep.
"I love you too, my Goddess." He whispered in response, green eyes closed as he felt both his mind and body growing heavy with sleep. If left alone he would happily spend the next several hours using his wife's bosom as his pillow.
As the days went on, it was a struggle. Valia was having a hard time coping with herself, with her faults, and with the unyielding rain. Perhaps were the sun shining, she might feel the need to get outside the castle walls, or to do something other than let herself fester inside. But thank the Gods her husband was an angel, and she only realized her own ignorance as the days sweetly passed, both long, numb and cold.
But it seemed little by little, when days finally turned into weeks, and weeks into months; that she began to feel different. She began to appreciate the little things. She was reading books, playing with her son, and enjoying her long talks at night with her husband. Never before had she felt so close to her son and husband as she had in those past few months.
Now she was beginning to show, both breasts and her belly swelling as her child continued to grow. And she found herself out on the balcony over looking the hills of Orchy while the rumble of a battle far off in the distance echoed on the country side. It was a sobering thought, that the war could be getting closer to home.
