Wants and Limits / Moonie's Okay With It
February 27, 2013, 05:54:59 AM
PLAYER WANTS

What types of plots are you interested in playing?
Most everything! I like romance, comedy, companionship, drama, and most everything in between. I love story-telling and evolving, engaging, and in-depth plots. Fun, silly short plots are cool too. It's going to depend on the character, I guess.

What types of plots are you not interested in playing?
Ah, hmm. I'm really not that good at long, drawn-out fight scenes and battles.

How often can you reply to any given thread?
I'm on a lot, but I also have a lot of threads. Depending on my muse, you can get several posts in a day or none at all for several days. Sometimes I may have more muse for some threads/characters than others and those threads will get more replies, while others get none. Please don't take it personally if you see me posting for other threads but not for your thread. I'll get to it as soon as my muse cooperates for that character. I'd say that as long as it hasn't been two weeks or more, just have a little patience.

What is the longest you're willing to wait for a reply to a thread?
Hmm. Without prior notice, probably a month. With some heads up, as long as necessary. Things happen, I get that. So if I'm threading with you and you need to take a long break, just let me know! I'll be happy to pick up where we left off when you get back if you still want to follow the thread/plot. :3

Are you open to RPing over instant messengers? If so, what's the best way to contact you and what times are you generally available?
Not really. I just...don't like it. I guess. Something about it is just weird to me. If I'm comfortable with the person they might talk me into it.

Are you open to post volleying?
I LOVE IT! If we're both available then just throw me a pm, mention it in OOC in our thread, or just let it happen spontaneously!

Anything else?
I already mentioned that I have no life right now, so threads with me will probably get pretty rapid replies. Please, please, please don't feel obligated to give me a reply back right away. Even if you're online and posting for other people, I don't mind waiting for you to come up with something awesome or to get your muse together for a particular character. Sometimes you just want to sit and think a response over before posting it.

PLAYER LIMITS

What are you limits regarding powerplay/godmoding?
Little, reasonable things are okay to just go ahead and do. Just please make sure it would make sense. Also, do not think or feel for my character, pretty please. Only I know exactly how they think, feel, and react to certain things.

What are your limits in regards to romantic situations?
I'm open to pretty much anything romantically, if it makes sense. Boy/Girl, Boy/Boy, Girl/Girl. If my character is into it, then I'm cool with it. Organic relationships are preferred, but I can pre-plot as well! If your character would reject mine IC, then I really, really want you to reject them! Rejection sucks and is great for plot and character development.

What are your limits in regards to sex?
Depends on how comfortable and how well I know the player, the characters, and my mood for that day/thread/plot. Sometimes I might be willing to imply, fade to black, or write it out. It will really depend on a lot of factors. Some of my characters are also more chaste than others. Some will engage in sex for any reason, with little prompting, others may desire a commited relationship, and still others may be completely uninterested in it.

What are your limits in regards to pregnancy within plots?
Pregnancy is part of life. Hell, it's the beginning of life. It can and does happen. So does loss. I'm perfectly fine with engaging in plots that involve these things. These are very deep plots, and since most of my characters are male, if the female character they are involved with becomes pregnant, well, that is at the discretion of that female's player. You are welcome to even surprise me with it! Men get surprised all the time in real life with it, why not give my own guys a heart attack? Why yes, yes I am mean to my characters.

What are your limits in regards to violent scenes?
This is going to depend on the character, plot, and situation. I'm not totally against writing out some pretty graphic stuff if the characters would engage in such behavior.

What are your limits in regards to abuse/rape in plots?
Tragically these things are a very real thing in life. I am willing to write these, imply these, or fade to black these. Again, depends on the situation, how comfortable I am with the other player, etc.

Are you okay with characters being transformed against their will?
I'm not sure I have any human characters for anyone TO turn. Against my character's will, yes. Against mine? Please don't.

What about healing?
This is again, going to depend. If my character is injured in the course of a thread, by all means, have at them. However, sometimes my characters have ailments or receive injury that I intend to be there and stay there. When in doubt, please just ask.

Anything else?
Not that I can think of at this time.

Welcome Wagon / Re: Hey guys im new here
February 27, 2013, 05:37:11 AM
Welcome! Yay! I get to welcome you first! You poor thing. lol

Let's see...tips...tips...

Oh! Just go with it! Have fun, we've got characters of all shapes, sizes, ages, temperments, etc. As long as it will fit into the setting, then it is a free-for-all. I think characters from other worlds must be approved if they're actually going to be RPed as being from not SotE universe. Then again, I took a long break and only recently came back. Don't know if they changed that or not.

Everyone is really friendly, we don't bite. If you see a character that interests you, then feel free to PM the person and see if they want to plot with you! You can also post in the Plotting Center to see if anyone comes to you with plots. Or you could dive right in and make an open thread with a character to see who bites the bait!

Soooooooo...just have fun and post some charries so you can come play with all us psychos. ^_^

Wanderers and Independents / Ashlar, Slave
February 26, 2013, 06:50:43 PM
Appearance:
Powdery, baby-soft hair flows gracefully to just past the boy's eyes in a choppy cut. The silky tresses are purposely worn a bit unruly, and the ivory locks often fall into the boy's handsome face, each strand seemingly settling into place, almost reverent of the creature that it adorns. Each and every white strand is tipped in either black or a crimson red. The kaleidoscope effect on his hair is unique to his father's bloodline; he's never seen another with hair like it.  His eyes are also slightly strange. His right eye is a deep crimson, while his left eye is milky silver.

Ashlar has elegant, almost feminine facial features. His delicate jaw and chin are always smooth, seemingly incapable of growing facial hair. His eyes are deep-set, with a delicate brow, and eyebrows that are as light in color as his hair, and always kept neat, rather than allowed to grow as they please. Ashlar has an elegant, celestial nose, neither too big nor too small in comparison to the rest of his features. His skin is smooth as buttermilk, and pale as fresh laundered sheets. His skin never seems to darken, no matter how long he basks in the sun.

Now his mouth, ah no, let us start with the lips! His lips are full and positively tantalizing; they are just the right size to fit his undeniably handsome face. Smooth and soft, this boy's lips seem to just beg to be kissed, explored, and savored to the fullest extent of any creature's capability. Behind those perfect, delicious, irresistible lips are a set of perfectly straight, white teeth, though the canines are naturally elongated, giving the appearance of fangs, which would not be entirely incorrect, mind you. The canines are a point of pride, because of the sheer pleasure of the implications one might make upon seeing fangs.

At first glance Ashlar's body may not seem very impressive, he's not incredibly tall, only standing about five feet one inches, with a boyish figure, only around a hundred and four pounds. Being on the small size doesn't hamper him much though, as he is incredibly agile and flexible, loving martial arts, fencing, and gymnastics. Ashlar has small hands and feet, in fact, he's adorably small altogether. The most adorable things about him, however, are his ears and tail. Yes, his tail. You see, Ashlar is half kitsune, which is a devious and treacherous fox demon. The fur on them matches the coloration of his hair, with the exception of the tips, which are solid ebony.

Personality:
The boy has an absolutely giddy personality. Ashlar is an extremely energetic youth, fueled by an unquenchable curiosity. He always wants to see, smell, touch, hear, and taste new things. New experiences are welcomed and embraced fully, a desire and passion for life in him that comes with youthful innocence.

While a touch shy when first meeting new people, he quickly warms up to most everyone he meets, loving to talk and discuss surprisingly insightful topics for his young age. He will be anyone's friend. Unless you make him angry. This is not advised.

Ashlar is a very touchy-feely person; he loves to cuddle with anyone that will let him. He likes being surrounded by people he knows, and since he doesn't hate anyone, it doesn't take him long to like everyone in a room. The advantage is that he easily makes friends in high places unwittingly, most finding his child-like innocence, adorable and irresistible. So it all works out for him in the end. Imagine that. I daresay he would have ended up dead by now if it weren't for his unknown charms. Another aspect to think about is that young Ashlar is a terrible flirt. Given his touchy-feely personality it shouldn't come as a surprise, but the boy loves to spend his nights in someone's arms, male or female. Can anyone say man-whore? I can spell it, A-S-H-L-A-R.

By now you're probably wondering what the catch is. Oh, yes, Ashlar seems to be a very sweet, lovable person, and on the surface, that is correct. Something much darker lurks beneath the surface. If one were to upset him, they would find themselves at the mercy of a monster, which incidentally, has no mercy. To put it simply, when he was five, a hapless drunk accidentally bumped into him, causing him to drop his treasured stuffed puppy, Wallaby. The poor man was eviscerated, and his entrails were used to transform him into a marionette for the boy's amusement. He played with him like that for three days before tiring of the game. Oh, did I mention that he was kept agonizingly alive and awake for those three days?

History:
Next to nothing is known about Ashlar's origins. He showed up at a slave market one day and has flitted from master to master since. Over time bits and pieces have been revealed. For instance, his mother was a pure kitsune demon, but his father was a mixed breed, half vampire and half shadow demon.

Abilities, Magic, and Powers:
Pyromancy:
Ashlar can create and control considerable fires.

Umbrakinesis:
The ability to manipulate shadows. This is by far Ashlar's strongest ability. Shadows are his playthings, he can teleport objects and himself through the manipulation of shadows. They can be used as looking glasses to see and hear things far away. They can be made to seem alive, manifesting into terrifying shadow monsters.

Dual-sex:
Not technically a power, but let it be known that Ashlar is not completely male. He is also female. Once every ten years he will go into heat if he has no children, and at this time he can become pregnant.

Cursed and Blessed Blood:
Ashlar's blood has a very unique composition of magic. If he gives it freely it is a powerful healing agent, however, if it is taken by force it is a powerful toxin.

Weaknesses:
Ashlar needs blood and flesh to maintain his strength, and he must feed often. His metabolism is so high that he must have consistent nourishment.

While his vampire heritage is weak enough to prevent sunlight from directly harming him, and in fact, he rather enjoys sunlight, it hampers his abilities of Umbrakinesis. Of course, it also charges his weaker ability of Pyrokinesis. It is a give and take situation, of sorts.

As a slave, Ashlar is bound to serve whomever can gain the title of master. He cannot directly harm his master in anyway way, and has no choice but to serve them. This isn't simply because he is a slave, however. Around his neck is a beautifully engraved silver collar, it cannot be removed, save by a master wishing to release him from his servitude. The collar is enchanted, ensuring the devious creature's obedience to his owner.

Ashlar's biggest weakness is by far his hoshi no tama, or star ball. Following true to his kitsune heritage, Ashlar was born with a star ball, which is simply a small crystal orb that glows brightly. At least, that is what it appears to be, but appearances can be decieving. In truth, a hoshi no tama houses the soul of the kitsune, and were it ever to be destroyed, the kitsune would die. Even to be separated for any length of time from his star ball causes Ashlar great pain and discomfort. He guards his hoshi no tama with his life.

Arca / Re: Something like home (Highway!)
February 26, 2013, 06:47:54 PM
Nisha tilted her head when he explained that he would have known if she were a threat before making himself known. How would he have known? Her curiosity about him grew. She tended to keep her interaction with strangers as brief and superficial as possible. Not that she didn't want to be around people, just that she had been warned constantly not to trust people she didn't know or that Gavin didn't approve of first.

When Kyt protested taking food from her, she wound herself up to argue with him over it. He was obviously cold and hungry and no matter how little food she might have had for herself, she wasn't going to have him going hungry when she had even a scrap of food available. Nisha would have gone without first. It was an unnecessary tension, she smiled happily as he took the bowl, despite his initial objection.

"That makes no sense, you know. There was still no way for you to know it wasn't a horrible plan." She thought about getting a bowl for herself, but even though she was painfully malnourished she didn't find she had all that much of an appetite right now. She was more interested in her strange companion than food.

Grey eyes watched him stand and offer his hand to her, there were a torrent of emotions running through her: confusion, nervousness, but most of all curiosity. Standing slowly she extended her hand hesitantly. The fingers that grasped his were thin, delicate, and frosty cold. Nisha was always cold. "What are you going to do?"

Zantaric / Senji Yamada, Mercenary
February 26, 2013, 05:27:13 PM
Name:
Senji Yamada

Gender:
Male

Race:
Demonic Shape-shifter

Age:
778

Orientation:
Bisexual, very dominant

Occupations:
Assassin, Mercenary, Murderer, Thief, Con-artist

Appearance:

Height:
6'2"
Senji is fairly tall, but not outlandishly so. He tends to stand taller than most he encounters, looking down on them physically as much as he does mentally and emotionally.

Weight:
153 lbs
Thin, willowy, and lithe could describe Senji's body fairly accurately. He's not particularly muscular, but that doesn't mean he's weak by any means. Over the years he's done a lot of training to make his body a lean, efficient machine with which he can carry out his missions without the annoyance of carrying around extra bulk. Senji didn't design his body to win a weight-lifting contest, but instead he's focused on making himself quick and agile.

Facial Structure:
The best way to describe his facial features is simply elegant; perhaps just slightly androgynous. He's not overtly masculine, but he's not got a girlish countenance either. His eyebrows are delicate and arched, and a few shades lighter than his hair. Senji does not grow facial hair.

Eyes:
Crimson
Senji's eyes are a most appropriate color, the shade of freshly spilled blood. Cold, cruel calculating, or burning with a fiendish desire, they are striking and his gaze can be unnerving.

Hair:
Grey
Senji was born with white hair, but it has steadily darkened with age. Right now it is a medium shade of grey, but eventually it shall be pure black. Gently waved and bouncy, his hair is soft and silky to the touch, kept just long enough to frame his face, his hair turns up lightly at the tips.

Skin:
Pale
Only slightly pale, his skin is a rather normal looking pink, without being tanned. There are no scars, tattoos, or piercings on his body. His skin is smooth, soft, and there is no hair on his arms, legs, and chest.

Clothes:
Eclectic
Senji has a great love for fine things. He will wear silks when possible, and even his practical clothes are finely made. Subtle shades of grey and black are preferred when working, but he is also fond of red.

Personality:

Cold & Calculating:
You might think that Senji was the one responsible for the phrase 'in cold blood', because the ground beneath his feet should frost as he walks. He can come to a decision to murder someone as easily as the average person could decide on what to have for breakfast. Being trained to assess a situation, calculate the best possible outcome for his own interests, and carry out a plan of action with a deadly precision, Senji might as well be a machine for all the emotion he shows in some of his various heinous crimes committed throughout his lifetime.

Malicious & Cruel:
Have you ever cut a puppy just to watch it bleed? Senji has. He's raped, tortured, and murdered people, just to hear their screams. Demented? Well, yes, actually, thank you for noticing. Cold he may be when reaching a decision, but to be perfectly honest, when it comes to carrying out some of his most vile plans, Senji takes great joy and pride in his work. The man has taken torture and death and turned it into an art form. He fancies himself a rival of Leonardo da Vinci himself.

Arrogant & Narcissistic:
Senji doesn't just think he's better than you, he knows he is. It takes a lot to impress him or to gain his respect and he has a pretty nasty habit of looking down on everyone around him and has been known to be very condescending. He will obey orders from clients, but only because money talks, and he's quite fluent in that particular language. Don't expect help from this guy, he's not into charity. If it doesn't have anything to do with him or it will not greatly benefit him in some way, then it's not his problem.

History:

Senji was born into a very large family. His father had seven wives and in the end, he fathered twenty-seven children. Xanji Yamada was a king among demons. For thousands of years the Yamada ruled a remote part of the world, unchallenged. It was a very dangerous family to enter, but even they could not imagine what had been birthed into their midst.

Only the strong survive. All the children were expected to compete and fight for the favor of their father and the right to be called his heir. Senji's childhood was filled with blood and death, assassinations, and attempts. Only one other child of Xanji survived Senji arriving into adulthood, and that was Senji's full-brother, Kanji. Their mother only had the two of them; she died before bearing any other children.

From the age of seventy onward, regardless of his birthright, Senji officially became an assassin and mercenary. He left his home behind, ignoring his royal obligations. What he craved was self-satisfaction, and he'd developed a fine taste for killing. Over his long life he's earned and spent hundreds of fortunes, had countless lovers, and only one true friend. Maverick was older than Senji, but it was Senji that taught him to be a true master of death. Any idiot can kill someone; it takes a much greater skill to do it well.

Senji's home no longer exists. It was destroyed, his father and his remaining wives fading into oblivion. It meant nothing to him. As always, he cares only for his own pleasure. His life is nothing but a series of events, with him on an endless quest for his next great thrill.

Senji's Lost Chapters

Relationships:

Maverick Alinari: To describe the true nature and depth of Senji's relationship with this man would take a long, long time. They are partners and rivals, mentor and student, and lovers and enemies all at the same time. Maverick frustrates Senji to no end, but at the same time he finds himself inexplicably drawn to him. He loves to hate and hates to love him.

Lady Danica: Senji's late wife. She died in a tragic...accident.

Kanji Yamada: Senji's younger brother. He both loves and hates his sibling. This is his only full-blooded sibling, and for his own reasons, this is his only sibling that he has allowed to live.

Abilities, Magic, and Powers:

Immortality: He's a demon and immortal. While a demon, he was not born with immortality. He earned it through many, many sacrifices. He continues to this day to make ritualistic sacrifices to maintain his immortal status.

Regeneration: His body heals itself, no matter the damage. This doesn't necessarily happen very quickly, but it does happen. Once he was so badly harmed that it took ten years for his body to even begin to heal itself.

Illusions: He is very good at illusions of all five senses. Mortals are easy prey. Demons and other non-humans are much harder to deceive, but he has been known to play tricks upon the minds of his fellow immortals.

Blade Dancer: Without a doubt he is a master of the blade. If it has a blade, Senji can wield it with a control and finesse reserved for only a true master. He has had hundreds of years to perfect his techniques.

Inhuman reflexes, senses, and strength: As a demon Senji is faster and stronger than mere mortals. His senses are also much keener.

Poisons: One of Senji's favorite methods of destruction are lethal toxins. He takes both natural and synthesized poisons to use against his victims. He is immune to their effects after years of slowly poisoning himself and building up his tolerance to most known venoms.

Weaknesses:

Immortality: The immortality itself is obviously not a weakness, but the fact that it is not a permanent or naturally occurring gift. Senji gained his immortality through ritualistic sacrifice. He must make regular sacrifices to maintain his strength, youth, and immortal gifts.

Demoncraft: Those who dare practice the art of commanding demons can use their powers against him. He is a demon and as such is capable of being trapped by the proper runes, spells, and commands.

Holy Power: Like most demons, all things holy cause him pain and discomfort.

Gavin continued to pin her for several long moments, mulling it over in his head. Pinning her there forever wasn't an option, and he was already getting bored of it. She was struggling again, although this time at least she wasn't trying to claw him to death. He wondered if he was bleeding.

With a grunt he stepped forward, to let her stand on her own feet or fall to the ground, he didn't really care which. Maybe he should have let the farmer's have her if she was going to give him so much trouble. Or he could have eaten her. Still could, but he doubted demon flesh was that great of a meal anyway.

"You should learn to control that temper, especially around people that can destroy you." Like he was one to talk.

Without meaning to, Tatsu had allowed himself to slip into a pensive mood, his dark thoughts troubling him. As a rule of thought, he tried not to focus on his past or on how much he had lost in his life. Doing so could crush him under a heavy burden of despair. It had done so once. The fact that he might have never seen the light again from that dark inner turmoil was not lost on him. The only reason he had been able to rise up from his own misery had been his daughter. He refused to dwell on such dreary thoughts. To do so was simply too dangerous.

When Aliyah grabbed his arm, he lifted his head, icy eyes flashing in the shadow of his hood. Tatsu did not resist her touch, nor did he argue that the heat was not bothering him. The woman was human, he knew, and the heat certainly had to have been bothering her. The other man, too. Rising smoothly he allowed himself to be led. "Of course...we will rest and converse through the heat of the day."

Tatsu shifted slightly in his seat, settling into a comfortable position. He was probably going to be there for a while. He would have to explain in detail exactly what he wanted from the statue, and probably answer questions. Not that he minded. Even Rayk appeared interested. He supposed it was to be expected. It still saddened him that so few knew or remembered Sky Dragons. Then again, it had been many, many years since The Hunt, as he called it. No humans alive would remember it.

"They are also known as Cloud Serpents and Storm Drakes, but I doubt you've heard those names either. Interesting names, they gave them." He fell silent in his own thoughts for a moment before speaking again. "They are glorious beings. Wise, old, powerful. They watched over humans. Once. A long, long time ago. There was a large clan of them, but they are gone now. Hunted to the brink of extinction. If there are any left, they do not show themselves."

His voice had become soft, distant, as if recalling distant memories. "They were long, serpentine, hence Cloud Serpents. They were mostly scaled, like any dragon, but they had glorious flowing manes of silky fur, with a long, feathery tuft of fur at the end of their tails, a long feathery wisker on each side of their snouts. Antlers, like a stag. They had no wings, they swam through the sky with magic alone. Quite graceful creatures." He fell silent again, perhaps troubled?

OCC: On a side note, you should look up Neon Dragon on deviantart. Her eastern dragons are my basis for Tatsu's dragon form. And yes, the statue he's asking for will be of himself, more or less.

Nisha could think of about a hundred different things to say to that. To her, Kyt still wasn't making much sense. He did not know her, there was no real reason for him to care what condition she was living in. Then again, she had to remind herself that she also cared about people she didn't even know. Some people just hated to see others suffer. That made her feel a lot better, actually. If he was compassionate and empathetic, then surely he was at least somewhat trustworthy. At the very least she did not feel at all threatened by his presence.

With a sigh she took the offered bread. Only because she didn't think he was going to take no for an answer. It didn't seem right to take it, though. There was no need to pay her for using the fire. Truthfully, it was just kind of nice not to be completely alone out here. As he tapped the ground with his stick and spoke she tentatively nibbled on the bread. It was stale, but it didn't really matter. She always ate what she could get without complaint. Beggers couldn't be choosers, after all.

"I suppose I should thank you for your concern. Not a lot of people care about strangers. I still don't understand why you would think to come out here and offer help to a stranger you knew nothing about, though." Her grey eyes watched him shiver and scoot closer to the fire. She stood up and went to her "bed" and brought back a woolen blanket. "What if I had been some kind of criminal? You could have put yourself in danger. Or what if you really had gotten lost?" A momentary pause. "I'm going to touch you, just so you aren't surprised."

Carefully she draped the blanket around his shoulders. "There, that should help you a little. Hot food will too. Hold on." She put the piece of bread with the small bit she had been given by the woman earlier, then picked up an old bowl and spoon that she'd found. There were a couple chips and cracks around the edge of the bowl, but she had cleaned them up and they would do. She put one of the carrots and about half of the potato chunks into it. "I really wish I had something better to offer you to eat. I love to cook, but there's just...not much to cook with."

Now that he had her pinned, he put a little force into leaning back, keeping her firmly in place. After that little stunt he wasn't even about to let her go unpunished. As she ranted at him he couldn't help but sneer at her struggles. Let her scratch and bite him, let her hit him. He'd had worse.

"Have you ever thought that you've been treated like crap because you're unpleasant? Not that it would matter in my case, because this is just my cheery disposition."

He could hear the defeat in her voice when her struggling stopped. It was certainly something to think about. Then again, it would be fairly moronic to let her loose. "Let me get this straight. You want me to let you go, when you just attacked me - for no good reason, I might add - so you can attack me again? Yeah, I don't think so."

Nisha frowned softly when he declined her offer to help him get seated, but didn't argue. She watched him sit, tilting her head to the side, simply observing him curiously for several moments. When he began to talk she settled back down, folding her legs under herself as she analyzed what he'd just said to her. All in all she found him quite curious indeed. If she had been blind she certainly wouldn't have been wandering around by herself. Even able to see she would rather not have been wandering by herself!

Idly she mused that her brother would have found him extremely suspicious. Especially when he continued to speak and said he'd come actually looking for her. Sort of. She frowned at the offered piece of bread. The expression was more confused than anything, not that he would be able to see it. There were a dozen questions going through her mind, but she couldn't ask them all at once. Would it be rude to refuse to accept food from him? He didn't look all that well-fed himself.

"I'm Nisha...You said you came out here to offer help? I...not to sound rude, but...why?"

Arca / Re: Something like home (Highway!)
February 25, 2013, 03:55:36 PM
With her spirits so high, Nisha had let her guard down. Something as simple as cooking a hot meal had let her forget, however briefly, that she was alone and vulnerable here. Gavin was not there to protect her. Not from large predators, bandits, or other unsavory people. At first she did not hear the approaching footsteps. By the time she did, they were so close there would be nowhere to run or to hide. Immediately she cowered down and froze, eyes wide. They couldn't miss the fire. There was no chance of them simply going by without noticing her presence.

A moment later she heard the young man's voice calling to her. Sense would tell her to be wary, even as she let her eyes rest on him, took in his sightless eyes. It could be a trap. Then again, what would bandits really want with her? She had absolutely nothing for them to take anyway. Caution told her to send him away, or ignore him. He wouldn't be able to see her. That was quickly dismissed. How could she turn him away? The poor guy, couldn't see, out here in this abandoned old house. Was he lost?

Her initial fear was forgotten. Rising from her cowering position she cleared her throat softly and took a step towards him. At first she wasn't really sure what she should do, the rubble might trip him up, should she offer him her hand? Her voice was soft and timid, but welcoming. "H-hello, Sir. Are you lost? Please, let me help you get settled by the fire. You'll catch a cold out here like this."
#5413
Now when he'd turned his back on her, Gavin really hadn't been sure what to be expecting. For her to huff and go her merry way, follow him to try to pester him, maybe, but this? No, this was a bit unexpected.

As her added weight came onto his back, he staggered forward slightly. His ears were still ringing slightly from the sound of her yelling at him about enemies or something.

The feel of teeth and claws digging into him produced an outraged roar as he threw himself backwards into a tree, hoping to crush her between him and the trunk. "Crazy, ungrateful bitch! What is the matter with you?!"

Arca / Something like home (Highway!)
February 25, 2013, 12:37:39 PM
The sky was lanced with pink and purple as the sun lazily began to sink below the horizon. There were only a few wispy clouds and the smoke rising from chimneys of nearby Arca. It was one of Nisha's favorite times of day. Uniquly beautiful. It was also one of her least favorite times of day. It hearlded the coming of night. Night was a dangerous, lonely time. With a shudder she also reminded herself that it was a very cold time.

Turning away from the sunset she moved back through the ruined farmhouse. A fire had gutted it months before and little remained. The property had been mostly abandoned, the house certainly had, at the very least. Most of the small house was now open to the sky, but a smallish room with a hearth remained mostly intact. With some effort she had managed to get a small fire going and had even managed to sift through the piles of rubble to find a few things.

A kettle was bubbling with a meager meal. A couple carrots and a potato that a local farmer's wife had given her out of pity. There was also a partial loaf of bread. To her it seemed a feast. She'd found a simple, ill-fitting dress with slight singeing around the hem among the rubble of the house, it was of plain grey wool, but it was better than nothing. A couple blankets piled on the floor was the make-shift bed.

Her long, black hair was twisted up in a bun on top her head. A few coughing fits interrupted a string of soft humming as she stirred the pot. Despite how poor her situation might seem to someone on the outside, Nisha found herself in a rather bright mood. This was almost something like normalcy. A very poor normalcy, but it was better than sleeping under a bush with nothing but cold water for supper.

OOC: I hope this is okay. x.x

Oh but he was enjoying this far more than he should have! Playing with demons, aggravating them, it was generally a really bad idea. However, this one couldn't handle peasants, he was fairly certain he wasn't in immediate danger of disembowlment.

"Testy aren't we? If I didn't know better I'd say you didn't enjoy my company. That could hurt my feelings, you know. We wouldn't want to do that, now would we?"

Ignoring her again he turned his back on her and slowly started walking away. It wasn't particularly difficult to feign a complete disinterest in her. Frankly, saving her really hadn't been his intention. That had just been a sort of bonus to unleashing his frustration upon the farmers that had been after her.

Still, this was more entertainment than he'd had in days. All he could do was hunt and sleep most of the time. That's all there seemed to be to do around here. How dull. He'd been in his wolf form too long. He should head back into town. Ah, but which town?

His hands were still firmly clasped behind her back, mostly for a loss as to what to do with his hands. A devilish grin crossed his lips as she shuddered, but he listened to her little story. Laughing silently at the last bit about the church. Now that was a story!

"Mmm, well to be fair, murdering peasants actually wasn't on my list of things I was planning to do today. Ah well, that's just the way it goes, I suppose."

He made a dismissive gesture. "Truthfully, there's no reason I'm here. I just wander about where the mood strikes me to go. Did you say your ex-master banished you here? How interesting."

Tatsu took a seat at the offer, his movements surprisingly graceful and careful. While he politely listened to Aliyah, he made sure to wrap his cloak about himself. It was almost high noon, everyone would be retreating from the heat soon enough. Those hours of quiet restfullness would be the best ones of the day. Then it would get uncomfortably cold during the night. The days were perfect, the nights an aggravation. Probably the only thing that kept him from settling here.

His pale eyes studied Rayk from beneath his hood as he waited for him to explain what he wanted in his commission. Tatsu did re-evaluate his opinion of the man, as he heard what amount of payment he was willing to offer in exchange for the woman's work. He had also wondered about the veil. Was that self-consciousness he detected in her adjustments? Most likely, though what she might have to be self-conscious about was anyone's guess. It really was not his business and he would not be so rude as to ask.

Once Rayk had finished speaking, his voice flowed out once again. "I wonder, Madame, do you know what a Sky Dragon is? Most people seem only to know about the winged beasts from Adela in any real detail."

I'm really sorry about your mom.  :'(

Needing a break is very understandable.

Please take care.  :(

Gavin pretended to think about it. He really didn't have any intention of asking for something. What could he possibly need from her? Not to mention the fact that he couldn't even begin to trust her.

"A task." He shook his head. "No, no, I can't think of anything. Also you didn't really answer my question, but that's okay, I got another. What are you doing here? Picked a hell of a place to hang out."
