That twisted smirk didn't leave his lips. The taste of blood was still fresh on his tongue as he listened idly to her. A brief flash of teeth at the mention of being owed a favor, but he didn't stop trying to circle her.

"Is it? I don't have a habit of earning the favour of demons."

He stopped moving, tilting his head slightly and fixing his eyes on her once again. A low chuckle was given as he shook his head. "You say you owe me a favour, and yet, what kind of favour could a pathetic weakling of a demon like you give me?"

Now he was just heckling her for the fun of it.

Gavin snorted, but his lips twitched up into a twisted smirk. "Oh no, no, no. This is not me being rude, trust me, you don't want to see me being rude. Besides, who's the rude one? Quite an ungrateful one, aren't we? Here I am, saving you from slimey peasants and you thank me with insults."

He began moving, not quickly, and not towards her. It was more of a slow, subtle move of circling. He clasped his hands behind his back, tilting his head so that he could gaze up at the branches above them. "That reminds me, what kind of demon can't handle a handful of farmers with pitchforks?"

OOC: S'all good. What's Homestuck? lol

IC:

Gavin watched Aksha as she stalked over, his fur bristled as he snarled silently at being called Rover. He stopped cleaning himself, stood, and shook vigorously, splattering blood everywhere, including all over Aksha.

The snarl had gone, he wasn't really planning on anymore slaughter, the impromtu bit just now had been enough. This disrespectfulness from the demon was going to stop, though.

His transformation was simple and quick. One might miss it if they blinked. The black wolf merely reared up on it's hind legs and the wolfy visage seemed to melt away, as if the man simple rose from his crouch from beneath the animal.

Clothes of unrelieved black, including a long coat of wool. Gavin's eyes glared at the demon now, they might as well have been molten gold. "Call me Rover again, you demon whore, and I'll drag you kicking and screaming to the next village and give you to them."

Tatsu watched the transaction silently. As long as he had lived among humans, he still found himself struggling with just how the put value on an item. Some places an item could be worth very little, and yet, in another place it could be priceless. Putting the thought out of his mind to ponder at another time, he once again found himself focusing on the woman. She was showing samples of the materials she could use.

He already knew exactly what he wanted, including what materials should be used. As she readjusted her veil once again, he let his eyes travel over the market. This was proving to be a much longer stop than he had originally intended. That thought did not bother him. He had all the time in the world. What was a small delay? But a drop of time in an endless sea. That thought might have disturbed him, many years ago.

"I'm thinking white marble, about the size of a cat, with azure moonstone set as eyes. The details of the carving will be extensive. I can provide the moonstone."

Gavin bristled as he was referred to as a 'good doggie' and ordered to kill. The arrogance of the demon only fueled his rage. A bloodlust had settled upon him, the thrill of the chase had his limbs quivering in anticipation.

The villagers turned there backs on him to flee. Mistake. It took only a single bound and he was upon the first man. His jaws clamped around the back of the terrified peasant's neck, there was only time for a strangled scream before a loud cracking and crunching of bone heard. Even as the body fell to the ground he leaped off and made for the next one.

A slightly pudgy man turned and threw up his arms to try to protect his face. Gavin struck him with his front paws, sending him sprawling to the ground. Ignoring the neck, so feebly protected, he instead began to eviscerate the man. Alive.

The bloodcurling screams of the dying man only served to make the other peasants run harder, crying out to their god for mercy. He ignored them, they were beyond the trees now.

When the screams turned to gurgling groans, Gavin stepped off the man and turned back to where he had left the demon. Blood dripped from his fur, his head, neck, and paws were drenched in it. Amber eyes assessed the damage he had caused as he sat down and, almost like a cat, lifted one front leg and began licking the blood from his paw. The burning rage was quenched. For now.

The forests of Connlaoth, bordering the lush Sirantil Valley. There was plenty of wild game, shelter, and territory to be had, enough to content any wolf. Of course, there was only one problem: Gavin was not just a wolf and he was not contented. Maybe that was two problems.

The crunch of bones filled the hollow he rested in, as the remains of a very unfortunate squirrel were ground up and disappeared. Black ears flickered as a commotion approached the forest. What was that? Didn't they know better than to annoy him? Despite his discontent he had claimed this area as his for the time being.

Paws treaded swiftly and silently on the forest floor as he stalked towards shouting voices. As a feminine voice cried out for help he put on a burst of speed. He leaped over Aksha where she was sprawled on the ground, landing by her feet and facing the mob that had been chasing her.

Fangs dripping with blood were exposed as he snarled angrily. Filthy villagers, disturbing him and hunting on his land. His fur bristled, making him appear even larger than he already was, which was quite large to begin with. That squirrel hadn't been much of a snack, he wondered if the villagers tasted good.

OOC: Sorry for how bad this turned out.

Glad you think so.

I'll have to think up a reply for your thread.

Also, don't be shy! I'm still welcome to more suggestions from more peoples! Or if you decided to hash out another toon and wanted to try them with one of mine, Lorcain, always open to plot suggestions. :3

Wanderers and Independents / Gavin Ulrich
February 22, 2013, 12:15:51 PM
Name:
Gavin Ulrich

Gender:
Male

Orientation:
Bisexual, very dominant

Age:
26

Height:
5' 11"

Weight:
157 lbs

Skin:
Very Pale

Eyes:
Amber

Hair:
Black, shaggy

Race:
Werewolf

Personality

On his own Gavin is ambitious, greedy, and ruthless. Gavin wants what he wants when he wants it and doesn't care if he has to rip out a few throats to get it. With a white-hot temper and lust for power, most are better off just staying out of his way. He's reckless, cynical, and has a dark sense of humor. Insanity runs rampant in his family and it is clear that he is a bit mentally unstable.

Not to say he has no redeeming qualities. He loved his sister, but abandoned her, unable to deal with her illness. Gavin is of the alpha-type, larger, stronger, and faster than lesser wolves, but he has been a lone wolf for too long and it is severely damaging his mental state. Alpha wolves cannot thrive alone. He needs other wolves to curb his innate need to protect and provide. Without a pack to lead, he is vicious, unstable, and dangerous.

Appearance

Gavin has straight, thick, and extraordinarily soft onyx hair that's longer in the front, hanging just past his eyes. His eyes are a deep liquid gold, capable of being soft and comforting, or cold and piercing, depending on the situation and his mood. His skin is ghostly pale.

He could easily be considered ruggedly handsome, with a strong jaw and slightly hooked nose. Actually, he is a rather handsome man, there's little to consider.

In build he's tall and slim. Don't get the wrong impression; his muscles are well-defined on his slender body. Not to mention his skills are well-honed for agility and reflexes. He's also fairly flexible, so don't underestimate his capabilities.

In his wolf form he is a large, shaggy black wolf.

Extra

As a werewolf he has heightened senses and greater strength than mortals. He also ages more slowly, but he does age and is not immortal.

It very much could be a problem in that particular location. Too much to develop for that one to worry about right now, though. Will deal with them laters.

I guess I need to go hash out a quick profile for Gavin, then.

Haha, oh he certainly could, if he had the mind to he could do a number on about anyone he encountered, but his passiveness, even temper, and gentle nature don't tend to lend to harming things when he doesn't have to. Even when they're being annoying. Also he weighs so much because his bones are so dense. Not easy to break him. lol

The thing about Nisha and Gavin is that while Nisha would absolutely love to see him and be with him so he could take care of her...Well...he kind of abandoned her. So them being in the same thread would be...awkward and unlikely. Gavin gots some explaining to do! xD

Well this other character, I'm only got the most basic of outlines, doesn't even have a gender yet. Physically weak character, but quite strong with magic.

Aww, thank you! I'm glad you like them. ^_^

I think you highly underestimate Tatsu. Still, he's in two threads already, I should probably give another charrie some loving attention.

Rajko...spends most of his time on a boat, so yeah, hard to catch him if you're not Yorieqi.

Nisha, Nisha, Nisha...I do adore her, she's so innocent and crushable. I don't know about Aksha giving her a heart attack...I don't think Nisha would get THAT frightened. Unless Aksha did something insanely crazy.

Hrm...I may need to type up a couple more characters...Nisha's brother, for one. He would have a lot of fun with Aksha. He's kind of vile himself, so dancing with demons is no sweat for him. Plus there is another charrie I've been mulling over...

Tatsu wrapped himself further in the blankets and slid under the wagon, it would be enough protection from wind or snow, should some decide to fall. He was not warm, but neither would he be inside the wagon. The cold was making him addle-brained, he decided. There was an uncomfortable feeling in the pit of his stomach. It was not like him to make such a social blunder, not even accidentally.

Nellie sighed softly has her father retreated from them. She had an idea of what was going through his head. Shaking her head she overed Ikki an apologetic smile. "He really meant no harm."

She sipped her tea again, musing over the situation. Her face began to cool as the blush retreated. After a few moments she laughed softly. "You know, I don't think I've ever seen Father so embarrassed before!"

A demon, hmmmm.

Do you have any suggestions or ideas for any of my characters? I'd say Tatsu would be wary of a demon, Rajko would be curious, and Nisha would be...terrified. xD

As Ikki choked on her tea, Tatsu tilted his head, puzzling over her confusion and embarrasment. Had he said something wrong? He thought the wording had been pretty clear, but then humans were strange.

Nellie picked up on the mis-understanding quite quickly, her own face turning bright red. "Oh no, no, no. Father will sleep under the wagon so that you can have the second bed."

If Tatsu was shocked by the realization of what she had thought he was suggesting, he didn't show it. A slight frown crossed his features. "My apologies, I did not mean to suggest...No, quite not. I will sleep out here."

Nellie didn't mind when she wasn't answered right away. Getting caught up in something you found fascinating was quite understandable. She did it sometimes herself.

"Don't worry about it! I understand. It is good to have something you love to do. Father loves to collect magic relics, for example. I do too, I guess. I love business, though. I like selling our finds for the best profit."

Tatsu shifted slightly, sighing heavily. "Do not worry about offending here. You are our guest, we are most pleased to have you with us. There are two beds in the wagon, they are narrow and firm, but you are welcome to mine tonight. I will sleep under the wagon."

At the mention of a codex stone for the language, Tatsu opened on eye lazily to study Ikki with a thoughtful expression. How he would love to get his hands on such a stone. If he could learn this unknown language, well, he always did like to know languages. It would be rude to ask the location of this stone, if it even still existed, so he closed his eye again and pondered what he'd just learned.

Nellie's eyes sparkled at the mystery of it all. At the mention of Butterfly Dragons, she tilted her head curiously. "Butterfly...dragons? I have never heard of such a thing."

Tatsu chuckled softly. "There are many things in the world you have not heard of, daughter of my heart. Ah, but you are still young and have many more years to discover more, but even with a hundred human lifetimes...Well, it would be impossible to see and know everything that crawls, flies, or slithers in the lands."

Tatsu wasn't one to mince words. He meant exactly what he said about paying more. Of course he had several thoughts swirling through his mind at any given time, rarely did he speak any of them. He reached his gloved hand inside his cloak, the jingle of coins could be heard as he withdrew a heavy purse. His fingers kneeded the leather exterior, feeling the coins inside, eyes withdrawn and pensive.

Coins meant little to him, truly they did. He didn't have an endless supply of them, but he had more than enough to get buy, and they brought him no pleasure. Only spending them brought any kind of real pleasure, in the form of his trinkets. Or on doting on Ellie. He would have exhausted his entire trove on that child if she wished it. Ah, but she was not here, and no longer a child. He shouldn't mourn for the loss of her company, she had grown into a lovely young woman and it was time to let her grow up. Still, he couldn't imagine it was easy for any father to part with his daughter.

"It would seem the question really isn't who wants it more. The obvious answer is: he does. The real question is who is willing to pay more. I have the distinct feeling that answer is different. I'm feeling generous, however. If he truly wants the worm, then he can have it, I have something else in mind."

Tatsu opened the purse, glancing into it calculatingly. The overwhelming glitter was gold, a bit of silver, no copper. He didn't keep copper, it wasn't really worth all that much and he didn't care about coins to begin with. "I wonder, can you set gems into your stone carvings? The commission I have will be complicated, and will likely take you some time to complete."

I'm currently unemployed, so I have a lot of annoyingly free time on my hands. Which would be awesome if I actually had stuff to do, but since I don't...boredom ensues.

Ah, I've got the three characters in my signature, if there's a plot you'd like to discuss with any of them hit me up! I'm very open to ideas and suggestions for plots and stories.

Ah...hmm. Well, I'm sure I'll make more characters as I go, but that's all I can think of for now. I just want some RP partners. :3

Icy blue eyes flickered slightly, examining Rayk as he offered the copper crescent for the statue. The work was worth far more than that, he knew. Tatsu did not understand this idea of swindling. Take as much as you could, while giving the least amount back. How did people survive? Just the thought was enough to give him a mild headache. Humans would never be fully comprehensible, but at least he knew enough to pass as one, if a very odd one.

At the mention of commissioning a piece he shifted his stance slightly once again, his focus returning to the vendor. He wonder what she truly looked like. The veil made it difficult to determine much about her appearance. Wryly he thought that most of the people he had encountered that day thought much the same about him. There was no real reason for him to be quite as covered as he was, except a dislike for the taste of sand and dust on his tongue.

"A commission...yes, I would pay you handsomely if you could carve a small statuette to my specifications. First, however, that sandworm is worth more than ten copper crescents. It is of a decent size and the craftmanship is excellent. If he is unwilling to pay more than that then I will simply have to buy it instead."
