Kai looked around the massive stable, eyebrows rising fractionally to show he was impressed (an intense expression of emotion for him). "Nice place," he said quietly from the doorway.

Next to him, Ka'lei snorted derisively, crossing her arms over her chest. His twin's eyes flickered around in a practiced manner, one he knew well; scoping the layout, the potential exits, where not to get cornered. She shrugged, scowling.

He leaned over and bumped her lightly with his shoulder. "C'mon, Lei-lei, it could be worse. And you like horses, don't you?"

"Hmph." She turned her nose up at him. "Doesn't matter what I like. Never has."

Kai sighed. Ahh, his sister. He loved her, but sometimes she truly was impossible. So, as usual, it was up to him to try to make nice, no matter how uncomfortable he was with the role. He took a hesitant step into the building, breathing in the smell of horse and hay. Ka'lei followed at his heels, her glossy black wings shuffling in irritation.

Hesitant was not a good look for her brother, Ka'lei decided. He was too big for it, too noticeable. Looking around, she tried to get a feel for the new hell they'd been dropped into. Barely an hour off the auction block and their new "owner"- her lips curled unconsciously just thinking the word- had lent them out to some stable master or another.

Lent. Like they were pack horses. Or some gardening tools.

Though, she had to admit, some of her anger was tempered by the animals around her. She did like horses, always had, and they tended to return the sentiment.

"Hello?" She was suddenly brought back to the present by Kai's soft call. "We've been sent to work. Who should we report to?"

Physical Description
Fiona has flaxen blond hair (often kept in a messy bun at the back of her head), a neutral peachy skin tone, and odd, glassy eyes that seemed to more reflect the colors around them than possess their own. Though on the tall side, she carries herself to appear as non-threatening as possible, trained from a young age not to draw attention to herself.

If one were to catch her with her clothes off (not recommended, as she will hurt you for it), you would see a trail of golden scales from the nape of her neck to the small of her back that wrap around her waist and legs, then just barely up the sides of her breasts, as well as a pair of golden dragon wings kept firmly folded to her back and a thin tail she honestly sometimes forgets that she has.

Personality
Naturally Fiona is adventurous and impulsive, but this instinct has been quashed by her over-protective mother (who, admittedly, has her reasons...but more on that later). She's a bit of a dreamer, but she works hard to make up for it.

Magic/Abilities
Hypnosis: Occasionally Fiona can compel a person to do something. Sometimes. Not often. It's iffy.

Fire: Fiona inherited her father's ability to breathe fire, though it's a power she keeps hidden. It does, however, come in quite handy when she works with glass- it also helps that she can touch the molten substance without harm.

Relationships
Family: Renkaryn, her dragon father, and Brigid, her human mother. Brigid didn't know Ren was a dragon when they met, and (being Ren), he didn't bother to explain until they he and Brigid had been together for several months. It would be hard for an observer to say what he felt when she threw him out, exactly, but he did seem genuinely sad when Brigid told him to leave, and that she never wanted to see him again.

Whether or not she meant that last part seems to have fluctuated over the subsequent years. Particularly with the birth of their half-dragon daughter that both had been unaware of when he left.

Karyn, a half brother she doesn't know exists.

History
Fiona was protected by her mother all her life; from the world outside, from other people, from herself. Brigid was convinced if people ever found out what her daughter was something terrible would happen to her. Fiona has never been quite as certain, but she loves he mother and doesn't want to upset her.

When she was eight, Brigid began teaching her how to blow glass, and it was discovered that she had an extraordinary talent for it. Thrilled, Fiona began working in the little shop that they lived above- though she was still kept out of sight ("Away from danger" as her mother put it) as much as possible, she felt a little bit closer to the world.

Recently though, the shop isn't enough...

__________________IN-DEPTH STUFF

Physical Description
Jynx has long, wildly curly dark red hair and warm gold eyes. Her skin is a neutral shade of peach with a heavy layer of freckles. She is well muscled and curvy, and normally wears clothes to emphasize this fact. A long, thin scar slashes diagonally across her face from just above her right eye to the left side of her jaw; if one can look past that, she's pretty enough.

Personality
Having grown up in Zantaric, Jynx has a rather loose sense of morality. She does what she has to in order to survive, and she doesn't much care who gets in her way. Most of the people she knows aren't exactly saints, so she doesn't get too guilt ridden if she has to step on them to get a job done. That said, she tries to avoid harming innocents. When possible. As for general attitude...Jynx knows she no "great beauty"- what with the scar and all- but she makes up for it with buckets of charisma (and curves that could stop traffic, if you asked her).

Magic/Abilities
Demoncraft: Jynx has been summoning demons since she was a child, though she's kept the ability a secret. She carries around a grimoire with her at all times that essentially acts as a log for all the demons she has at her disposal.

Thief Skills: Jynx is quiet, agile, quick fingered, and a terrific liar. Her style is more to sneak around and avoid a fight, but if that fails she uses knives or- in extreme situations- demoncraft.

Relationships
Family: Jynx was raised by her mother Erin, who was a prostitute. She has several older half siblings, all of whom had left home before their mother's death and who she hasn't really had contact with since.

Demons: Jynx can summon a wide variety of demons, most with similar appearances and intelligence levels comparable to more mundane animals. These she can form decent working relationships with, like a hunter with a hound. Summoning more powerful demons is a bit of a tossup; though they are forced to obey her, they don't bother to hide their contempt and hatred.

For example, Jynx has a lasting contract with a demon called Ilieth- the most powerful creature she can summon- that will eventually end in her death.

Ilieth: A large (about seven feet tall), humanoid demon with russet and gray scales. Four double-jointed limbs tipped with black taloned fingers, two rows of teeth, and large, red eyes with angular, golden pupils. A heavy hitter, capable of human speech and manipulation; also telekinetic and telepathic.

Tiameth: A small fox-like creature with black and crimson fur and bat wings instead of front legs. An excellent tracker and clever enough, though not "intelligent" on a human level.

Dionish: A medium sized demon that looks like some sort of cross between a lizard and a dog, with the opposable thumbs of a primate. Colored in rusty oranges and browns, he's a decent creature of stealth but his real strength lies in brute force- he's also venomous.

Nightmare: A massive black charger with glowing red eyes, her mane and tail seem to be made of constantly swirling smoke. In addition to being a useful mount, she has the power to uncover a person's deepest fears and show it to them.

Pandorica: A humanoid demoness who appears to be made entirely of mist, though she is in fact corporeal to the touch. Often mistaken for some sort of ghost, her power includes hypnosis and the ability to heighten negative emotions.

Kori: A cat demon about the size of a lynx and possessing feathered wings, white furred with red markings and gold eyes. Handy in a fight, with a minor control over fire and the power to "jinx" people (curse them to have bad luck, the severity of which varies).

Janus: A two-headed hellhound, most closely resembling a large black and gray wolf in build and shape, with one head possessing poison green eyes and the other crimson.

History
Jessica first summoned a demon when she was six years old and cut her finger on a cooking knife, an incident that resulted in the scar across her face. Though the summoning was completely accidental, her mother panicked and made her promise to never use the power again. As Erin had no magical talent to speak of, it was assumed that little Jess inherited the power from her unknown father.

Then one night, when she was ten, a disgruntled customer snuck into their house and attacked Erin, fatally wounding her. As Jessica held her dying mother, her rage and grief awakened the power she had locked away and she summoned Ilieth. The demon promised her revenge, and protection from all those who would do her harm, in exchange for her soul. He gave her fifteen years before the contract would be fulfilled.

She took the deal.

The Green Gander Inn and Tavern wasn't exactly what Dusk would have called the most desirable place to spend one's time, but the small town of Greentrail really didn't have a whole lot of other options. None, in fact. Besides, her room was cheap and the food was hot, so she supposed she really didn't have much to complain about.

Still, she couldn't help wishing the place was a bit less...unsavory seemed like a good word. The tap room was full to bursting with the town's just-off-work inhabitants who were currently in the process of enthusiastically drinking themselves into a stupor. But they weren't really too bad, just loud. It was the groups of travelers like herself that put her on edge, taking up the largest table in the middle of the room, roaring and laughing, "accidentally" smashing a plate and  then grabbing servant girls (and a few boys) round the waist.

She wrapped slim fingers around her own mug of distinctly nonalcoholic cider, drawing a little further into the hood of her oversized cloak. She'd tucked herself away in a corner near the stairs that led up to where rooms were for rent, hoping to down a quick meal before crashing into sweet oblivion. It had been another long day in a series of long days- in a series of rather long weeks, honestly- and she was exhausted.

Exhuasted enough that this crowded, stuffy room and its noise and tension became officially too much for her, empty belly or not. She pushed her half eaten dinner away and stood, giving a nod and a tiny, polite smile at the serving girl who saw her movements and threw her a questioning look. The girl nodded back, rolling her eyes at the rowdy group in the center of the room and giving her an understanding smile as she came over to clear her small table.

"Bit too much for you?" she asked kindly.

Dusk nodded again, blushing. "I'm just...tired," she whispered shyly.

"Can't say I blame you. You were just about dead on your feet when you stumbled in this afternoon, and this lot don't exactly make for a relaxing atmosphere," the girl chattered away in a friendly manner. "Go on and grab some shut eye. Will you be wanting breakfast in the morning?"

Once more she nodded, forcing out a soft, "Yes please," and wishing she had the courage to say more, to thank the stranger for her kindness and return the favor. But when she opened her mouth no sound came out, so she simply gathered her cloak around herself and made for the stairs.

Apparently she was even more tired than she'd originally thought, because she didn't even notice the giant of a man making his way back across the room from the bar before she ran smack into him. He jerked and swore, and suddenly she felt a warmish liquid dumped all over the top of her head. It stank of ale.

"Oh!" she gasped, looking up in shock and fear to see heavy brows set over dark eyes glaring down at her. "F-forgive me, sir. I-it was an a-a-accident-"

"I should bloody hope so," the giant growled, and she took a step back. "It think you owe me for  the drink, darlin'."

Dusk swallowed nervously, looking at her feet. "I'm v-very sorry, sir," she practically whispered, "but I don't have the m-money. I s-s-s-spent all my coin on a room for the night. Truly I'm s-s-s-s-sor-"

"'Sorry' don't pay my tab, do it?" the man barked. She cringed, hands fisting in the folds of her cloak. He took a step toward her and she took a step back. Her head knocked against wood and she winced; it seemed he'd cornered her up against the side of the stairs. The smell of alcohol reeked from him, strong enough to make her gag. Her mind raced, trying to come up with some way out of the situation. She glanced around, hoping someone would notice she was in trouble and would figure out a way to calm the man down.

Someone did notice. More than one someone. Unfortunately, "someone" was two of the rowdy bunch that had made her want to escape the taproom in the first place. She saw them glance over, talk to each other, then make their way across the room toward them.

"Whass'a trouble 'en?" one asked, so inebriated his words were barely distinguishable.

"Wench spilled my drink. Says she got no coin to pay for it." Dusk winced, shrinking- if possible- even further with fear.

"Well, payin' don't have to be in coin, necessarily," the third man offered, a crooked grin spreading across his face. Her eyes went wide and flickered around wildly, searching for a path of escape. They weren't quite boxing her in- if she moved quick enough.

Dusk darted forward between two of the men, meaning to hang a sharp right and bolt up the stairs. But someone grabbed her arm, the sudden strength against her slim frame actually jerking her backward off her feet. Too surprised and afraid to even cry out, she was spun around to face three pairs of hungry eyes.

__________________IN-DEPTH STUFF

Physical Description
Dusk has a number of distinct physical characteristics, the one people usually notice first being her hair: at the root it is a deep purple-black color and fades to an almost lavender shade near the ends, usually worn loose and long with a gentle wave. She has bright blue eyes with a ring of soft green around the pupils, making them appear almost teal. She is fair skinned with a smattering of very light freckles that sort of glitter if the light catches them right. Her figure is what most might deem "slender" or perhaps even "waifish".
Since she dislikes attention, she usually wears a dark gray cloak with the hood up to obscure her rather eye-catching hair and eyes. She also wears a pouch at her hip filled with different herbs, potions, and poultices she uses for healing.

Personality
By nature Dusk is a gentle, timid soul. She is soft spoken (if she speaks at all), and has a bit of a stutter that becomes more pronounced under duress. Despite her shyness however, she craves companionship- she's usually just to nervous to ask for it. She enjoys music and art and sunsets and waterfalls and really anything that could be considered "tranquil". Though she tries to avoid conflict, if confronted with it her first instinct is to negotiate in an effort to bring about peace. Failing that, she usually runs away. Her connection with the natural world gives her a deep respect for life, in all forms.

Magic/Abilities
Healing: Dusk can heal both magically and by more conventional methods. She tries to use herblore and the like as often as she can because using her magical talent to heal tends to be tiring (the more serious the injury/illness, the more tiring it is). However it goes against her nature to leave someone hurting, so if mundane means fail she will use magic to the best of her ability.

Mother Earth: In addition to her healing magic, Dusk has a connection with life itself. She can make plants grow and talk to animals; sometimes this connection even allows her to sense the emotions of the people around her (though she usually tries to keep this aspect of her gift on lockdown as it feels like spying).

Fighting: Dusk has never been much of a fighter, but if forced to she's pretty handy with a bow. She avoids taking life whenever possible however, which occasionally comes back to bite her in the ass.

Relationships
Raised in La'marri, Dusk has a soft spot for the village's residents. Unfortunately though, her shyness makes it hard for her to bond with two-legged people, so she really doesn't have any companions on her travels.

History
A baby was left at the La'marri orphanage with a name stitched into her blanket: Seraphinata. A mouthful of a name, and as the girl grew she earned the nickname "Dusk", for the color of her hair. She had a reasonably normal childhood for a La'marri orphan, and like most in her position she began to wonder about her parentage.

So, when she was eighteen, she decided to leave La'marri and set out to find whoever had left her all those years ago. Two years of travel has taught her much about the world, though there always seems to be more to learn.

Unknown to Dusk, she is actually the half-faerie child of Ilona's faerie godmother. Whatever happened to her mother that caused her to leave Dusk in La'marri has passed the connection between herself and her goddaughter on to Dusk herself.

Name Renkaryn, Ren
Age Unclear, he lost track somewhere around 450
Gender Male
Species Dragon
Orientation Pansexual
Height 6'5"
Residence Nomadic

__________________IN-DEPTH STUFF

Physical Description
In his natural form, Ren is a large dragon (about the size of a small hill if he curls up and lays down) completely covered in gold scales with a paler gold underbelly and ruby red eyes. In human form he is a tall man, appearing to be in his late twenties, with long, golden blond hair, tanned skin, and crimson eyes. Because his inner fire keeps him warm regardless of form of climate, he tends to favor lighter clothing, often forgoing pieces entirely if he can get away with it.

Personality
Like many of his kind, Ren considers himself superior to most other creatures. He's an arrogant pain in the ass, but he really does mean well (most of the time). He also tends to not understand human mannerisms and intricacies of communication; dragons are very straightforward creatures (sarcasm aside), so even when he's not being a jerk there tends to be a decent amount of misunderstanding.
He does have an interesting little habit of hoarding, a quirk that stays with him not matter what shape he takes.

Magic/Abilities
Shapeshifting: Ren was born with a rare gift that appears every few generations in his bloodline, allowing him to take any form that he wishes. However, he can only take a form different from his natural one for twelve hours at a time, then he must return to dragon form to "recharge" (this takes at least six hours, usually).

Glamour/Hypnosis: Ren can compel people to do things or to forget certain events, if given adequate time and eye contact.

Elemental Magic: Even out of his dragon form, Ren has a fair amount of control over fire- but he can only breathe it in his natural shape.

Relationships
Family: Brigid, a human he loved once upon a time, and their daughter Fiona. He hasn't seen either since before the girl was born. In fact, it is unclear whether or not he knows she exists.

Karyn, a son sired through rather questionable means.

History
One day, apparently on a whim, Ren decided he wanted to live among humans. And he's gotten nothing but trouble ever since.

__________________IN-DEPTH STUFF

Physical Description
In her human form River has black hair, cut in choppy layers to frame her face and hang about midway between her chin and shoulders, and hazel eyes. Her skin is olive, marked on her left cheek by a long, thin scar (the most visible of her collection). She is tall and lean, muscles well trained for cross country and hand-to-hand brawls, with a modest bit of curve. Well accustomed to cold, harsh winters, she tends to favor heavier clothing, but it has to be something she can move in.

In wolf form River has thick black fur and hazel eyes; she's bigger than a true wolf, about waist height on an average sized human at the shoulder.

Personality
River likes other people well enough, but she's a lone wolf at heart. Being in crowded cities makes her twitchy, so she prefers to roam the mountains and foothills for her job. She's a good team player and always somehow manages to click with whoever circumstance may force her to work with, but she doesn't open up easily.

Magic/Abilities
No magic to speak of other than her ability to change forms. River prefers to use her hands (or, more accurately, claws) in a fight, and she's very good at it.

Relationships
Family: River is the eldest of a litter of five, with three younger brothers (Storm, Shadow, and Ash) and a little sister (Sky). Both of her parents are still living, and she now has a gaggle of nieces and nephews from her sister (two sets of twins) and her second-youngest brother (triplets).

Parents: Elise and Lake Longfang

The siblings and niblings:
Storm and his mate Akina
Shadow and his mate Nora
 - parents of Minna, Callum, and Forest (5yr)
Ash (currently a bachelor)
Sky and her mate Elwyn
- parents of Sorren and Rain (7yr), and Lila and Teerin "Twig" (2yr)

Partner: Kahroan

History
The quintuplets were raised by their parents in a smallish cottage just across the Kilanthro Mountains from Connlaoth. While for most people with a bit of wolf in them pack life is desirable, River always felt a little suffocated. She left as soon as she could, but she visits often, usually with presents and stories for her family.

Recently, the eldest of her nephews has begun calling her "crazy Aunt River who sometimes lives at home"...

Unfortunately, River has a dark chapter in her past, a year of her life from the ages of nineteen to twenty. She was courted by another wolf shifter in the very loosely tied community that lives in or around the Kilanthro mountains. For the first month or two she knew Thorn he was sweet, charming, and attentive.

That changed though, gradually at first, then all at once. It started with a few fits of temper, a general surliness, then suddenly exploded into bouts of violence. River collected bruises and cuts on almost a daily basis.

With only the loving relationships of her parents and her siblings and their mates to compare to, River assumed that whatever had gone wrong in the relationship was her fault. She tried to hide the marks Thorn left on her, ashamed but too afraid to leave him.

Then she started to suspect she was pregnant, and things changed. She knew she couldn't raise a pup with Thorn for a father, and she told him she was leaving. This resulted in the worst beating she'd ever received, and caused her to miscarry the baby. Utterly heartbroken and out of options, she went to her parents for help.

When Thorn's actions came to light, he was shunned by their community and eventually sort of faded away from River's life, but the scars he inflicted remained. She never told anyone about the baby, not even her family, and she still blames herself for what happened, wishing she'd had the strength to leave sooner.

__________________IN-DEPTH STUFF

Physical Description
Tara, like most Serenians, is finely featured- and a bit on the small side; however her physicality is deceiving. She's by no means a heavy weight champ, but her slight frame belies lean muscle.  Her eyes are a strange shade of indigo and her skin is fair- actually pale might be a better word (a detail that irks her). Her silvery blond hair is almost always kept in a long braid down her back, often adorned with ribbons or flowers or anything else that strikes her fancy. Tara favors loose, flowing skirts and snug bodices that tend to highlight her curves. She's also a fan of bangles and arm cuffs, has multiple piercing in each ear, and often has on a necklace or two, but she almost never wears rings.

Personality
Tara is, for lack of a better word, bubbly. She's bright and cheerful and friendly and always willing to lend a hand.

And then she can turn around and stab you in the back with a smile on her face.

Honestly, it's hard to tell which side of her is faked...

Magic/Abilities
Bard Song: Through her music, singing or playing*, Tara can accomplish a range of feats. She can bewitch an audience into a comatose stupor, bolster a comrade's courage, etc.
*She can play a variety of instruments, but the two she almost always has with her are a lyre and a delicately carved wooden flute.

Elemental Magic: This ability is still tied into her music, but a little more "free form" if you will. Tara has a minor degree of control over all the elements through her songs; wind and water come most naturally, earth she can work with, and fire is a pain in the butt.

Weapons: Tara knows magic isn't always reliable, so she uses a bow for more practical matters. And she's not half bad with a knife.

Relationships
No family or friends to speak of

History
For as long as she can remember, Tara has been a traveler. She was found by a nomadic camp of people living at the edge of Draconi Forest that borders Serendipity as a baby, tucked into a simple wicker basket and nestled in the roots of a tree. The nomads took her in and raised her, teaching her to sing, play, hunt, and defend herself. For a while, she was happy.

But when she was sixteen, something happened. She doesn't like to talk about it... Anyway, now she's on her own.

PLAYER WANTS

What types of plots are you interested in playing?
I'm game for basically anything!

What types of plots are you not interested in playing?
You know what, I'll try anything once :)

I have tried a thing that I did not enjoy! Which was combat-only. Not a fan. In depth fight scenes are definitely fun to write, but I'd love to have them happen inside of a larger plot please!

How often can you reply to any given thread?
Once a day, usually. Very very rarely I will have a day where I am too busy to post, but I'll try to be polite and always let you know!

Update: Life is crazy! I'll still try my darnedest to do once-a-day posts, but if it takes me a few days I ask that you be patient, I promise I'm trying ^.^

A further update!! Life is still crazy and sometimes writing is really difficult for me for Silly Brain Reasons (super fun!). I'll really really try for once a week or so—some days may be better than others, but I will always try to let you know if I need an extra long break.

What is the longest you're willing to wait for a reply to a thread?
As long as you need!  Some notification would be nice if it's gonna be a while though. If it's been longer than two weeks I may ask what's up, but if I know a reply is coming I'll wait pretty much indefinitely.

Are you open to RPing over instant messengers? If so, what's the best way to contact you and what times are you generally available?
Not really into this, sorry folks. If necessary PM and we can try to work something out.

Are you open to post volleying?
If you catch me online, have at it! Or hey, if you're real determined, PM and let's work out a specific time :)

Anything else?
Communication is key!!!
...But seriously, you do you, I'm flexible :)

PLAYER LIMITS

What are you limits regarding powerplay/godmoding?
Powerplay: As long as no serious injuries/death/transformation (i.e. vamps, werewolves, etc.) happens without asking me first. Other than that have at it!
Godmoding: Please do not.

What are your limits in regards to romantic situations?
I'm not a fan of love triangles as a rule, but if you're really itching for one just talk to me about it. Age doesn't really bother me if it's reasonable (like, no more than 10-12ish years apart. Max. If both participants are adults. Unless they're immortal beings/super long-lived or whatever, I'm more flexible there). Other than that I'll try anything once!

What are your limits in regards to sex?
Ah, no super in-depth descriptions please. That's pretty much my only limit. Write the whole scene if you want, just don't be graphic please. Of course implication, fade to black, pre/post scenes are all fine. I'm totally willing to go there if that happens though!

There should be some reason for it, not just "because they can".

A quick note: the more comfortable I am with another writer, the more likely I am to be about playing this kinda stuff out a bit more if that's what my thread partner is looking for.

Another note: I have grown as a writer since making this! I am now comfortable writing out these scenes, if that's what my partner wants, but I do ask that you don't just jump right in there with no warning for me, and I will also say that consent once does not mean consent forever. If I'm not feeling writing a scene out, I'll let you know and we can do some implication/fade-out ^.^

What are your limits in regards to pregnancy within plots?
(Are you okay with pregnancy in plots? Miscarriages? Loss?)
I feel like all of these things are situation-based. Talk to me about it, we'll see what happens.

What are your limits in regards to violent scenes?
(Are you comfortable with violent scenes? Do you prefer to imply it, fade to black, or play it out? Is there anything you won't write?)
Violence is fine, as long as there's no like amputation without prior discussion. And no unnecessary gore please. Necessary gore is fine, it's great! Unnecessary gore irks me.

NOTE: I'm not really a fan of threads that exist solely for the purpose of combat. It's great if you like them, that's just not really what I like to read or write. Of course combat scenes to spice up the story and propel an adventure along are great, I just ask that you don't try to make a thread with me just about a long, drawn-out fight.

What are your limits in regards to abuse/rape in plots?
Basically, communicate with me. Some things I might be interested in exploring, some things I'm more comfortable implying, and some I just won't do. That said, if it's part of a character's history, and not something we are actively writing, go for it.

AN UPDATE: HI! I do not want to write out a detailed rape scene. Just don't. Please don't ask. If it's that important to you, I'm not the best RP partner.

Are you okay with characters being transformed against their will?
(Think vampires and werewolves. Should a player ask before attempting to turn your character?)
Yeah, please ask. Again, this seems like a case-by-case thing to me. Against my character's will is fine, against my will...not so much.

What about healing?
Ask me first please :)

Anything else?
Let's go adventuring!

__________________IN-DEPTH STUFF

Physical Description
Due to her mixed blood, she doesn't exactly fit the typical Adelan image: she has olive-copper skin and a mess of curly, dark brown hair with deep red undertones. Her eyes are large and slightly shimmering in dim light, showing her fae heritage (as do her slightly pointed ears), and a shade of green so dark they usually appear to be black. She also has a tattoo between her shoulder blades depicting a dragon arising from a ring of flame.

Not tall but not short, she's very comfortable in her body and isn't afraid to show off a bi should the occasion call for it—though usually she favors practicality over fashion in her dress. She's pretty enough, but she's usually covered in some form of travel-dust which obscures this fact.

Personality
Kiara is a bit...standoffish. Her father is a very free spirit, he left her and her mother when she was very young, so as a rule she doesn't trust people without good reason. However she usually keeps people at a distance through biting humor rather than crankiness, which makes her strangely likable. She's a solitary person by habit, but she also adjusts easily to new environments and people.

Magic/Abilities
A fire elemental magic user, though not super powerful. Basically she uses magic to manipulate Kit, her dragon's, fire in battle to give herself a bit of an edge.

Her preferred fighting style involves throwing knives, a pair of long daggers, and pretty much anything else sharp that she can get her hands on. She's very quick and light on her feet, so she plays more to that than to her physical strength.

Relationships
Kittsareyn, or Kit as she affectionately calls him, is a still growing (read: about nine feet at the shoulder), black scaled dragon with golden eyes; each of his scales is lined thinly with silver, though the markings are so faint they're really only visible in the light (quite striking actually), and his wing membrane is shot through with faint strands of silver and gold. Though he does possess human speech, he rarely deigns to use it with anyone but Kiara. He's her oldest and best friend: her mother, also a dragonrider, gave her his egg a few days after her third birthday, and he hatched a week later (all awkward and gangly and not at all what one would imagine a dragon to be). And they've been together ever since.

Kiara has an...interesting relationship with her father, Aeolthaine. A relationship that is further complicated by the fact that he happens to be the current Crown Prince of the Autumn Court.

History
Kiara was very close with her mother, who died of illness when the girl was twelve. After that she was taken to live with her father, who meant well, really—but he was never cut out to be a parent. Not to mention Kiara just wasn't built for the delicate machinations of life in a faerie court. When she was fourteen, she decided it would be best for everyone if she struck out on her own (well, with Kit of course).
