Mystery waited until the strange red blob was gone before doing anything else; she felt paranoid the thing might keep growing and growing until it squished her completely. She smiled greatfully at Calim as he pulled it off, then reached behind the blue carnation that was pinned to her shirt. From behind it she pulled a bright gold whistle.
The sudden fit of sneezing near knocked her off balance; it wasn't so much the motion, but the heavy smell of blood. Her eyes unfocused and her mouth watered, but she tried her best to stay focused. She could feel Fiona clinging to her shirt, and knew she couldn't let her down. Trying her best to stay focused, Mystery brought up the whistle and blew. A sharp piercing whistle cut through the icy air, and suddenly a dark purple spiral appeared right before them. The oily smoke spiraled and glittered, the portal swelling in size until it grew big enough to walk through.
Then, from inside the portal came a rough masculine voice, "Mystery, you got the run away?"
"Not yet Pyro, but I know where she is. It will be quicker to take the Circus there anyway-"
"Ring Leader says you're not allowed back 'til you find her-"
"I know, I know, but I have some friends here I want to give some guest passes to."
"Guest passed?" suddenly a man poked his head out of the portal. He looked thin and wore a ninja mask decorated in glittering cut outs of fire. "You never give those out."
"I know, but I wanna," Mystery gave her best 'innocent girl' smile to the door man, "Pleeaase?"
"Oh... alright, but if Ring Leader asks, you tell him Frost was on duty, I ain't getting my ass in trouble, got it cutie?"
"Yessir!" Mystery chirped. The man in the ninja mask vanished and Mytery adjusted Fiona on her shoulders, turning to give her a warm, if not slightly strained smile. "We're taking you somewhere warm now, okay?" she looked up to Calim as well, "Come on, you're coming too." With that she turned and walked inside. There was a bright purple flash, and suddenly the trio was standing on the outskirts of what appeared to be a huge midway. Games and carnival tents dotted the grassy ground, but above them there was no sky, only darkness.
"Come on, my room is this way..." Mystery said, heading towards a close by tent with soft billowing pink walls, and black lacy ribbons.
