Daijii was absolutely thrilled by the sight of Cerenis, as the ship sailed into the docks.  After so long cooped up in the small vessel, the girl was just about bursting with energy, all too ready to explore the mainland.  She was crouched on the prow of the ship, tail tip twitching back and forth as she waited for the ship to get close enough to the docks.

The sounds of movement from below distracted the tigress momentarily.  The other passengers, getting ready to disembark, or the sailors getting the cargo ready to unload.  Returning her attention to where she was, she leaped from the ship's prow, landing gracefully on the dock.  Excited by her own little stunt, she pumped her fist in the air, and let out a little cheer.  "Yay!  Daijii is here, finally!"

((Hahaha, i fail at thread titles.  Anyways, this is open to anyone, anything goes.))

Cerenis.  So this was what they called the big seaport town.  It was difficult to assess at first what these creatures were doing to these big bulky vessels that were on the something that could only be described as water.  Even the twins knew what water was.  But still everything seemed so strange.  This wasn't like any port they'd ever seen.  Instead of sleek, agile crafts made of steel and adamantium, there was nothing but wooden bulk and giant trimmed trees that stood at their center with clothes hanging from them that were controlled by ropes and round contraptions that looked like winches.  Strange vessels indeed and nothing like either of them had ever seen before.

But as much as this new place had stood out to them so did they to their new surroundings.  Even with their voice scramblers, they both had difficulty deciphering the strange tongue of these people.  Few spoke to them as they were clad in dirty cloths, tattered cloaks and made to look like beggars, though they didn't know.  "what the hell is this place, Shatter?"  Flash asked, fingering the blaster that he'd told her to hide underneath her shirt.  They'd gotten rid of the EVP masks a while back when they came to learn the atmosphere of this mysterious planet was not what you'd call toxic.

"Beats the hell outta me.  We still gotta find some information.  C'mon, maybe somebody know something about this place.  And hopefully they'll know what they're talking about."  Shatter adjusted the collar of his cloak which covered the voice scrambler that allowed him to change his own voice, from tone to dialect to language and help him better understand what these creatures were saying.

Some of them looked human by what they knew.  But their sick, disgustingly pale skin was certainly not Thronian blue.  The twins were an odd pair even by their kind's standards with bright gold eyes instead of the standard yellow, and silvery hair as opposed to the more common white.  Still, they considered themselves a breed apart from these bipedal beings with their metal sticks and metal jackets, whatever those things were.  Shatter pushed his sister to move toward the docks of one of the wooden vessels that just made port.  "Somebody's gotta know somethin'.  And stop fingering that blaster.  I don't think you wanna get us in more of a mess than you already did."

Flash scowled at him and ignored his advice.  She watched the vessel pull up and then suddenly something quick and furry leapt from the wooden ship and just as abruptly she saw her brother jump in surprise and pull his own blaster to aim at the strange being that pumped her fist in the air.  "Watch yourself, missy," he said in an odd dialect of Common.

"Put that thing away, you moron!" Flash said harshly, pushing the weapon down and forcing it back under his cloak.  Then she turned to the woman-cat-thing and patted Shatter on the shoulder.  "Sorry.  My brother is a bit retarded.  He thinks those toys are real.  But they're just toys...toys, you know.  That don't fire anything. Hehehehe....he.....he..."  She said, spreading her teeth wide in a creepy smile.  Shaking her head she cleared her throat. "Um, anyway, I was wondering if you could help us.  We're a little, well...lost."

Daijii had no idea what the thing Shatter had pointed at her was, and with it disappearing under the man's cloak so quickly, the girl decided to ignore it.  She smiled back at Flash, a little confused to see they had blue skin.  Very strange.  "Hello.  Daijii is new here, so she doesn't know where anything is."  She nodded, not at all concerned about being lost.  "Daijii is from the Yoreiq Isles."  she beamed proudly.  "You are new here too?  Where from?"  She seemed quite happy to have bumped into the twins, the very tip of her tail twitching back and forth rapidly.

The tiger girl hadn't at all noticed that they were dressed like beggars, after all, she barely wore anything at all.  Just a leather top and bottom, enough to cover the essentials, and show off as much tattoos as possible.  As for shoes, well...Daijii had gone barefoot from the day she was born, and was totally used to it.

The only word that was familiar to them was "Hello."  It was that common across the galaxy it seemed.  Greetings were always simple though and that word did little to clear their confusion about their surroundings and the people.  Of all the 'almost-Thronlike' beings they came across in their journey to the city, this female, cat thing was by far the least of them all.  She wore skimpy clothing (though Flash thought she had a good fashion sense) and had a freaking tail!  Shatter on the other hand considered her nothing more than a cantina prostitute.

"What did she say?" he whispered Flash in their own language.

"Uh, she said," Flash put a hand to her own voice scrambler, and furrowing her brows in puzzlement, "she has a blue beer in her travel balloon.  Um...she is a banana with miles?"

Shatter glared at her. "Great, now we're stuck with a moron."

"I think this voice scrambler's all jacked."

"No I think you have it in the wrong frequency."  Shatter shook his head, annoyed, but tried to smile at the cat woman.  "We don't want any beer or bananas, but thanks anyway," he said slowly and audibly.  "We're not from here...  We are uh..."

"Tourists!"  Flash grinned nervously.

"Yeah, tourists!  Just visiting some cousins we have up north.  We come from a very cold place.  My name is Shatter.  And this is my sister Flash."

"GREETINGS!"  She smiled and waved with one hand, while keeping a hand on her pistol with the other.

"Um, what was that big wooden thing you just jumped off from?"  Shatter asked, pointing behind her.  This time he made sure his own scrambler was in the right frequency.

Daijii tilted her head to one side, utterly confused when they started whispering.  It was easy enough to hear, though she didn't understand a word they were saying.  "Um...Daijii doesn't..." She trailed off as they spoke up.  Beer and bananas?  What were they talking about?

The mention of the word 'tourists' was enough to distract her from that confusion, and she smiled again, waving happily back at Flash.  She turned and pointed back at the vessel she had leaped off.  "It is a boat.  Um, no, a ship.  They sail across the ocean, much farther than Daijii could swim."  And she was a damn good swimmer, too.  Glancing over at the twins, she grinned again, clearly excited.  "North is..."  she trailed off, trying to remember the names of the countries.  Well.  She knew this was Serendipity, and then there was Adela, and some other country.  She grinned sheepishly.  "Daijii forgets what is north."

((OOC:  sorry for the wait.  and i think daijii failed geography, lol))

What was all this nonsense?  Wooden vessels called ships.  The only ships they ever knew were made of metals tougher than steel and were larger.  Some had wings and were cumbersome, others were sleek and fast, but holding less cargo and probably couldn't jump to warpspace.  These wooden things were some of the ugliest 'ships' they'd ever seen...

Flash frowned and eyed her brother then the cat girl woman thing in front of them.  Then she abruptly snarled at her and flashed irritated teeth, a bit fangy, but no growl.  "No good dirty liar..." she muttered dangerously, fingering her pistol.

"Watch it Flash.  I don't think she means any harm. A giant boat huh?  They fly across the ocean.  So that wet stuff down below is an ocean.  Oh yeah, I recognize it.  So, I'm guessing you came from far way then."  Shatter mumbled the rest off to himself and no longer made an aggressive stance.

Flash looked a little annoyed with Daijii.  But tried not to be so impatient with her.  "North is up there.  Usually very cold and not very nice."  As if she knew.  Of course all these words were flying out of her butt with no thought whatsoever.  "We should go back North.  Where we're from things are very pretty up there.  Would you like to come?"  Sucker.  Maybe they could rob her of ...whatever she hid in her skimpies...  Hm, she'd leave the investigating of that to Shatter.
