There were agents scattered all over the city. They were innkeepers, shopkeepers, hawkers. They were your everyday person. All of them knew the location to the base and all knew the hidden way inside. It was just a matter of asking the right person, the right way. It was the front entrance.

Ranar, however, couldn't use that entrance. He couldn't be seen going in and out of a warehouse. It would raise far too many questions on what he was doing. It was a good step easier to use the back entrance. It was one that only a few knew of but it was guarded as well as the front was, although the guards were a couple of yards inside. It wouldn't be much of a secret entrance if people were standing on it all the time. Ranar waved for the escort that came with him from the manor to take over guarding the entrance, as well as the horses, and he proceeded deeper inside with his new escort.

It took about a quarter of an hour for the group to make it to the headquarters proper where Ryum Thersul was waiting for him. Ranar had stopped being surprised at Thersul for knowing when he was going to be there, even if it he didn't send word ahead of him. Thersul knew everything that happened in the headquarters and probably knew more of what happened in the city than Ranar did. The man bowed to Ranar. "My Lord, it is an unexpected surprise. Please, allow me to show you to your rooms." The High Lord acquiesced and followed the other man through the underground tunnels.

"Anything new to report Ryum?" Ranar asked as the two entered the room he used as a study. "Nothing beyond the usual, my Lord." He replied. "Although I have received some messages from various agents saying that we might receive an influx of new members in the near future." Ranar nodded and waved the man out. New members, eh? Recruitment had been at a very low point for some time now and Ranar was a little excited about new blood. More people would make his plans all the more easier to finish. However, there was still a mound of papers sitting on his desk that he needed to go through and he started on it. Perhaps things would start to pick up.
