CH. I – Painting a Portrait
Like all Umbraeons, Dram is covered in the dark ashen skin of a native Dark Elf, as if born from a pile of volcanic ash himself.  His eyes are dark red, thick like blood rather than of flowing lava, there's almost a brownish hint to them.  His body is long and lean, thick with muscle and with white scars  that span across his chest and abdomen with a few on his back. Unlike others of his kind, he lacks the black, stark tattoos that would mark him as an Umbraeon.

His features are wide, though his eyes have a faint slant to them and his mouth usually seems like it's in a frown. His head is shaved on both sides and his fire-red hair stands three-quarters of the way in a tall row, mohawk-style, while the back of his hair is long and braided, stopping at about mid shoulder.  There on his right shoulder lies the sigil marking him as the Red Hawk.

+ NOTABLE MARKS +
Dram's left cheek has a deep scar that runs up his face from the bottom of his jaw and trails near his left eye but does not hit it, ending halfway up his temple.   It is not a scar he enjoys people touching and will often flinch away if someone attempts to put a hand near it.  Nor is it one that he takes a great pleasure in retelling the tale of it.

+ PREFERRED CLOTHING +
Dram prefers clothes and armors that are light and that he can move easily in.  He can usually be seen wearing brown, leather leggings that are wrapped on the bottom and thin-soled shoes that quiet his steps.  He wears a leather tunic as well with a belt across his waist and no sleeves.  His right wrist is wrapped in a leather bracer, with a fingerless half-glove attached to it, covering the top of his hand while the bottom of it reveals his palm.

CH II – Mental Make-up
The first thing a complete stranger notices about dram is that he does speak much.  He prefers action over the emptiness of words.  Though when he speaks, people tend to listen, for his voice carries a weight of wisdom and heaviness that is difficult to ignore.  He doesn't speak in complex words or with great eloquence, but rather simply and usually straight to the point.  This may make him seem either really pretentious or a simpleton.

Dram is not what one would call a gentle person and usually never one to sugarcoat anything.  If he feels something needs to be said, Dram is the one to say it.  Others often prefer to hear the truth from him than any other as the likelihood of a lie coming from his  lips are slim to none.  Not that he is virtually incapable of lying.  It is more in the neighborhood that he simply chooses not to.  The truth is usually a greater weapon than a well-crafted lie, in his mind.

Dram prefers to deal with his close allies and has no patience for idiots and fools or those that believe themselves to be superior to others.  He has a strict, determined nature and it is not uncommon a thought that he takes himself way too seriously. Though he exhibits an extreme loyalty to those that have earned it, he doesn't appear all that friendly on the first few acquaintances.  His sense of humor can be a strange one and will find reason to smile only when he deems it fit.

There's a rough toughness to him, one that can easily be seen.  It is something that makes him a more than worthy companion to have in battle, not only with his skill with weapons and experience in combat, but his personal and professional resolve.  He will never back down from a reasonable fight and quickly comes to the defense of another in his party and will not leave them behind, unless they are completely beyond saving.  Nothing in combat fazes him as it is in his blood; an instinct to face danger, what others would call a suicidal bravery.

+ FAITH +
Dram dislikes placing faith in unseen things.  He's always had a rocky relationship at best with the idea of religion.  He has never experienced the cultural Umbraeon religion of worshiping their warrior-god Umbra.  He does not understand it nor does he find he understands the ways and gods under Kia.  So he prefers to keep all matters of such talk as far away from him as possible.  He regards the world around him and its laws with a scrutinizing eye and for him that is enough.

+ HABITS +
There's nothing he likes better than keeping his body in tight physical condition and can nearly always be seen doing some form of exercise or weapons training.  This keeps him both alert and ready to act at an instant's notice.

CH III – Social

+ RELATIONSHIPS +
Glint Hawk Bandits
Seranth Hawk, King Hawk
Nadya Lara Williams, Green Hawk
Ryan Frazier, Brown Hawk
Rai'nish, Hatchling, Pest

Bane, his Giant Eagle mount, a sleek black bird with three red stripes going down his head and red tail feathers.

CH IV – Abilities / Skills

+ ENDURANCE +
Umbraeons are blessed with a naturally enhanced endurance that allows them to take extreme amounts of punishment.  From running faster than a sprinting horse and capable of holding that speed for miles on end, to carrying weights that would break a normal human's back, to even taking a beating in battle and asking for more.  Dram's endurance levels are pretty high, even for an Umbraeon, and has been known to continue fighting even if he has suffered wounds in battle.

+ WEAPONS TRAINING +
Dram has more than sufficient skill in a wide variety of weapon types, though he has little to no skill in spear or staff fighting.  He is however an incredible archer and his eyes almost have a gift of zooming in on a target to get a better shot.  His weapon of choice is the kopis, a short curved blade about three and a half feet in length with a hooked handle.

+ FLEXIBILITY +
Even for a man of his size and stature, Dram has trained his body to have instantaneous reactions, almost blindingly.  He's flexible and capable of not just great agility, but also gymnastics.  As a result he walks very gracefully for someone of his body structure, and walks much in the way a predator stalks his prey.  His grace allows him to remain very quiet as he treads or even when he runs, an advantage to pickpocket or stealth maneuvers.

CH V – Gear / Equipment

+ UTILITY BELT +
Dram carries on him a utility belt filled out with all sorts of necessary items he may or may not need on the go, from a water flask, to a throwing darts, and a great number of other assorted items.

+ QUIAL +
The kopis that Dram regularly carries on him.  It is an ordinary blade, though forged from a heavy type of steel that makes the weapon an ideal one to wield in combat.  It is three and a half feet long in length.  His skill with the weapon makes it faster than most would consider possible, faster than even a dagger.

CH VI – Reflections of the Past

All that Dram can remember of his childhood is that he'd been born a slave, to a cruel mistress who lived in a villa outside the Zantaric for the first seventeen years of his life.  He was taken young, along with many other Umbraeons, too young for him to remember.  He does not know much about where he came from, only where he's been.  And his experiences with slavery make it a difficult subject to speak of with him without inspiring anger.  It wasn't until after he'd found his freedom that he learned in part some of the culture he should have belonged to.  But not enough wholly belong.

He'd escaped the household where he'd been kept and lived his life like a vagabond, living from city to city and working on his skills as a thief.  It was one unfortunate day when he'd tried to rob a nobleman, but was caught by surprise when another thief got to his target first.  In the escape, he caught up to the thief, who abruptly turned and tossed the stolen goods back to him.  He paused stupidly just as the guards surrounded him and arrested him for theft.  He'd taken the blame for a crime he did not commit and spend a good long time in city prison for it.  It wasn't until one evening that he found the thief peeping in through his cell door, dressed up as a guard, asking if he had the item.

"Of course, I don't have it!  Who the hell are you?" he demanded gruffly.  He couldn't forget those eyes anywhere and wanted more than anything an object with which to throw at the person that got him in that mess in the first place.   He watched the thief open up the cell and reveal the dagger in hand.  Closing the door behind them, he watched them leap up to the bars and start pulling on them, each one until the two at the middle finally slid loose from the crumbling rock wall.

The thief slid through the window and looked back.  "Well?  Are you coming along or do you want to rot in here for the rest of your life?"  Without questioning them, Dram slid up to the bars and moved through it while the thief replaced the bars until they locked back into place.  "Follow me!"  He did and was led deep into the wilderness.  Though perhaps it would have been stupid to follow a complete stranger, Dram really had nothing to lose and with nothing more than the prison clothes on his back and the sandals on his feet, he and the thief made their way to a small clearing in the nearby forest.

As they stopped to rest, Dram turned to the thief and demanded to know their identity and furthermore why they set him free.  As the thief discarded the guard uniform, he finally saw that it was a woman underneath it all, and she introduced herself as Almina Hawk, current leader of the Glint Hawk Bandits.

"I wanna thank you for not ratting me out, even though you had every chance to." She said, smiling.

"How do you know I didn't?" Dram asked, trying to understand just what the hell she meant.

"Got eyes and ears everywhere.  You handled yourself pretty well back when we first met and I'm sorry it had to be so rocky an occasion.  You've got skills, stranger.  You got a name?  We can use somebody like you."

"I am Dram.  Just Dram."

"Well Just Dram, you wanna join the Hawks or what?  Got plenty of room and it's a great place to earn a living if you're interested.  Of course you're initiation won't be official just yet.  Gotta introduce you to everyone first, and put you on probation to see how you do, but you gotta admit, you get an opportunity like this maybe once in a lifetime.  So whatdya say?"

Dram paused for a moment and looked around where he was, where'd he'd been and tried to think about where he'd be going.  Frankly he didn't know.  And he didn't know just what kind of organization or cult these Glint Hawks were but finally he decided in a final statement.  "What have I got to lose?"  And followed her back to the hideout.

He'd served with the Glint Hawks ever since, and forged an engrained loyalty to Almina Hawk, not just for breaking him out of jail but giving him an opportunity when no one else bothered to give him the time of day.  He'd earned his place as a competent fighter and thief during his career and serves still today as Red Hawk to Seranth Hawk, watching and guiding the kid as he grew up, making sure he doesn't do anything stupid.
