Glimmeringpearl

Glimmer watched him as he bit into the skin of the fruit, assuming this kind of nutrition was similar to fish. She took a peach and took a large bite into it, just like he had done. One thing Glimmer did not put into account was that ripe peaches were soft and much more juicy than apples. Her large bite had gushed with juice which streamed from her plump lips to her chin and began to journey down her neck towards the inside of her shirt. Her sea-blue eyes widened with registered confusion and mixed discomfort. Her cheeks were full with fruit but she did not chew, now knowing there was more juice there.

As luck would have it, the first fruit Glimmer picked up was an overripe peach. Sinead was quick to remedy the situation, he grabbed the rag off the platter (it was there for pompous people who trusted no one and insisted on cleaning their own fruit) and  used it to wipe the flowing juice off her chin and the upper part of her neck,

He then handed Glimmer the rag, "hold it to your lips then chew." While she went about doing that, Sinead picked the knife off the platter and cut the pit out of the peach then cut the rest of the peach into small pieces, as well as the rest of the solid fruit.

Sinead looked up at Glimmer, her discomfort evident on her face. "That could have happened to anyone" which was true.

She frowned at first but hearing the last phrase he spoke made her shoulders shake with laughter as she tried to her her mouth around the fruit in her mouth to chew it. She chewed and juices flowed from her lips into the rag, which was a displeasing feeling. She wiped her mouth and swallowed, smiling at him. The peach had been the sweetest thing she ever tasted.

"Is this what humans eat all the time?" Glimmer asked, curious eyes wandering to his face. She scooted a little closer to him so that they were shoulder to shoulder, wanting to touch him constantly. She snuggled up close to him and took another bite of the smaller pieces.

Zane

"My dear, this is barely the tip of the Iceberg." Sinead nodded to the tavern keeper, he knew the deal, all the food they could eat in exchange for a forty year old bottle of wine. It worked out well, the wine was passed to Sinead from the previous Bearer Saint. It was becoming a burden and the tavern keeper was a collector of rare wines. The two saw it as a fair trade.

Quickly, different food made their way to the table. Cheeses, a variety of meats that included steak (a food that mostly only royalty could afford), three different kinds of bread. Even Sinead was amazed at the amount of food the tavern keeper brought out. "Now Glimmer not every meal will be like this one. But right now is about you. Which food would you like to try first?"

Glimmeringpearl

Her eyes sparkled with all the dazzling delights before her. This was for her? She looked to him in amazement before kissing him quickly, more than just a quick peck. She turned back to her feast and pointed at the brown, smoked steak. "Can I try this?"

Zane

Sinead took the fork and knife off the plate and cut into the steak. Then he held it up for Glimmer. "Here you go my dear."

Glimmeringpearl

She opened her mouth and closed her teeth around the steak, instinctively pulling the meat off the knife and chewing. She didn't know what to make of it. Her face scrunched up a little. Her body had just accepted it but she did not think it tasted good and her displeasure was blatant. Though, it was known that humans who hadn't had this type of meat in their life tend to dislike it.

"Do they have any fish?" She asked dryly, wanting to get the taste out of her mouth.

Zane

Sinead looked to the tavern keeper, who mentioned that they might have some trout but that he would have to cook it, which he left to do. "It will take a few minutes. Why don't you try something else" Sinead said looking back to Glimmer. He was sure that here was something here she would like. So he cut a piece of bread. "Try this."

Glimmeringpearl

She sank her teeth into the soft loaf and found the bread pleasing. She enjoyed the flakiness of the texture. She swallowed and asked, "What is this called?" She bit into it again, not knowing to rip off a piece. Though, she realized the bread was dry and right after she asked some was sticking in her throat.

Zane

"It's called bread, drink some of your wine with it. It make is go down easier." Sinead cut off another piece and added butter, This one he then cut in half. A piece for him and a piece for Glimmer. He took a sip of the wine himself. It was sweet and smooth. He hoped Glimmer liked it, just not too much.

Glimmeringpearl

Glimmer, desperate to breathe once more, guzzled down her glass quickly. She liked the way it tasted but when she put down her glass her head began to swim. She breathed and blinked hard, conciousness beginning to feel fuzzy at the edges. She bit her lip, pushing through the fogginess and took the buttered bread. She liked this infinitely better and was filled with joy about it. She loved these new surprises and pecked his cheek intimately. "Thank you, my love." She said dreamily.

Zane

Sinead knew that they had to dilute the wine from her bloodstream. So he cut and lightly buttered the bread, knowing that it would soak a majority of the wine up. "Take small bites so you don't choke." Finally he went to try the steak for himself. It was poorly seasoned, but cooked well. Sinead knew that steak was expensive but to not season it properly was a waste.

Glimmeringpearl

Glimmer ate the bread slowly and in small bites as Sinead had told her. Once she had finished she giggled softly and wrapped her arms around his thick one, nuzzling into him. The woman pressed on him, leaning up to his ear and whispering in it. "You are so handsome, my prince." Her breath was light on his ear and she giggled gently into it, pressing her mouth to his ear. It was clear she was losing control due to inebriation.

Zane

"And you are so beautiful, my princess." Sinead said giving her more bread. she hadn't had that much wine. Examining the bottle it was a little under six months old. it wouldn't take too ling to cycle out, if the food didn't dry it all up. About that time the trout came out, descaled and deboned.

Glimmeringpearl

She barely noticed the trout, far too enamored with Sinead at the moment. Her hand reached over to the opposite cheek on his face to turn his gaze upon her. She did not take the read he was offering, teal eyes telling him that she wanted more than bread. She wanted more kisses and to feel like she did in the bathhouse. She wanted that electric feel. The woman cupped his face, staring him in the eyes. "Sinead..." She began, her eyes searching his. She was starved for his attention, always.

Her pale fingers smoothed over his hair. She liked it when he looked at her, even at just a glance. The sea was no longer her home, she realized. Here in her hands was her universe: Sinead.

Zane

Sinead's dark grey eyes were locked on Glimmer's teal gaze. There was longing there, desire. He was very temped to kiss her again, but this was not the time, this was not the place. Instead he pulled her into an embrace.

Glimmeringpearl

Glimmer felt extremely put-off. She wanted to kiss him all the time, regardless of where they were but she would accept his embrace for now. She nuzzled into his neck, kissing him there and nuzzling with her forehead before resting there. She wasn't hungry and the wine had quickly gone through her system. She just wanted him now.

Zane

Sinead was content, he found that he was content a lot recently. In the past he hadn't much reason for joy, unless he got to leave a battle without losing a follower. After a few minutes he kissed Glimmer on the forehead. "If your full then we have one more place to go then we go get your surprise."

Glimmeringpearl

Glimmer was mildly dissatisfied but didn't express it in words. Her eyes spoke volumes of desires that she didn't convey and kept to herself. She swallowed the unspoken words quickly, forcing them back to her lungs to dissipate. "I am." She responded about being full. She was never quiet that hungry today anyways. Though, her expression changed from mildly crestfallen to curious in a matter of minutes when he said the word "surprise." She knew that word well because it was something used in the... She remembered the kingdom and it's walls which were made of malachite, which shimmered in the ocean waters. She remembered its tall pillars and cool touch.

She quickly put away the memory in her mind, shoving it behind a door and locking it. She would not feel this right now. She would not let herself become crushed right now. She shook her head a little. "Let's go on ahead, my love."

Zane

Sinead took Glimmer by the hand and lead her from the tavern, nodding his appreciation to the tavern keeper on his way out. When they were out on the road, he lead her onwards, to a forge. When they got inside the heat was intense from the forge at the back of the building. The smithy noticed Sinead come in.

"Ah" he said, "I was beginning to wonder if you were coming. Is this the young woman you mentioned?"

"Aye this is her."

"young miss, may I see your finger?" The smithy pointed on his own hand the finger he wanted to see.
