Kirnardaz's instability had been sated by the lack of openly available souls apparently, as the souls of the dead guard caused the tornado to return, before turning into a full blown mini-hurricane.

When all the souls were gone, Kirnardaz returned to his usual form, and began to walk towards the gate.

"Ahhhh... Power..." He called out to his mount, who knocked over the stalls in the market when he landed in the clearing, growling at the brightness of the day.

"Climb on Ardeadai."

Finally smiling, Ardeadai walked towards the dragon mount. It looked more like a large lizard with wings. He climbed on it's back and hoped it could fly well. Several other guards came, but numerous fireballs took care of them.

The dragon was nice and corrupt. Evil and unpure. It was perfect.

Kirnardaz absorbed the souls and decided he would stay. He commanded the dragon mount to fly.

"I will be along shortly Ardeadai." Kirnardaz turned into the tornado again, letting the instability run rampant, burning through soul after soul, while tendrils ripped the souls from living guards to quench the thirst, like a spinning void, sucking in every sign of life and intelligence, rendering the guards as corpses, their souls devoured by the snaking tendrils of the life devouring storm Kirnardaz had become.

Eventually, Kirnardaz had enough souls to maintain flight to his mount, and he took control, becoming a huge winged demon, three times the size of a man. Then he took flight, leaving the fight behind.

Ardeadai watched his father. Showoff. He got into comfortable horizontal position on the dragon and waiting for his father to stop with the show of power, while also occasionally shooting a fool who dared come close with a fireball. A thought came to mind.I really should learn how to control Hellfire.

Kirnardaz flew alongside the flying mount, and turned into a cloud of smoke, the demon dragon hovering in one spot, while Kirnardaz mounted the dragon.

Finally Kirnardaz materialised, and they flew off, leaving the city of Arca behind, and heading to return to the fortress.

They where flying towards an unknown location. It will become known soon enough.
As he looked at the pure landscape (which disgusted him) he remembered his books. The started reading, being sure not to drop them. He started reading.

Let's see here... no. *turns page* Mortal to Fae transformation? No. *turns page* Gryphon to Dragon? No. *turns page* Brownie to Leprechaun? No. *turns page* Horse to Unicorn? No. *turns page* Merman to Sea Monster? No. *turns page* Demon to Mort- here it is! let see here... ingredients... chants... that's a lenghy chant. Quite some ingredients too.

He ripped that page from the book as he tossed the books to the floor below.

((I guess it's end thread))

Nothing in Arca escaped the notice of the Soot Wolves. The demons had been watched, the tails on them changing regularly to prevent any of the Wolves from being in close proximity to the demons for too long. When the library began to burn, the lead Shadow Wolf had word of the fire sent to the city guard. Everyone would likely hear about the great foresight of Rufus saving the knowledge held in those books by having them all copied some months earlier. Nobody knew where that many books were being kept though.

The demons were starting to draw attention. Part of being a Soot Wolf was diffusing situations that would cause chaos not controlled by the Wolves. As guards rushed toward the scene, Wolves attacked and then ran, trying to direct as many civilians and guards away from the demons as possible. Hopefully they could contain the madness until the demons took their leave.
