Physical Description
Helvechar is of the Eastern gryphons; a genus of gryphon species that hail from the eastern parts of Le'Raana. Their bodies are closer to canines such as wolves, foxes, and jackals rather than the feline bodies of their western counterparts. However, they are usually about the size of a large fox or small wolf, with rather disproportionate wings to their bodies, and they often get around by flying a few feet off the ground rather than walking, if there is no rain or other inclement weather.

Helvechar is a gryphon with the body and face of a wolf instead of a lion or cat. His fur is a matte grey with specks of brown mixed in; his feathers, both on his wings and his tail, are a darker gunmetal color, which blends with the lighter grey of the fur the closer one gets to his fur. His build is on the lighter side, but he is surprisingly strong for a creature his size.

His eyes can be best described as golden spheres amber; similar, yet different to a wolf. His forelegs from the talons down are a dark grey, and his beak is of the same hue. On his person at all times is a wide brim leather hat, and a fiddle, on which he plays the unique music of his ancestral homeland.

Personality
Helvechar is sweet and courteous fellow, and while he may come off as aloof or withdrawn from the cares or worries of current culture, he does care about the people around him, even if he's not at all like them. He doesn't like being stared at, and although there are rumors that he has a beautiful singing voice*, he is reluctant to let anyone actually hear him sing. However, one shouldn't take his shyness and care free demeanor as a sign of vulnerability; he takes insults very well and often spits some right back at the offender.

Musical Abilities
Violin- Helvechar is a gifted fiddler, and enjoys playing whenever he can. Although he primarily plays a style of music from his ancestral homeland in eastern Serendipity, he is also versed in several local styles of music from Adela and Connlaoth. While he tends to keep close to the main melody of a tune, he does embellish a little when the music calls for it, usually combining basic fiddle ornamentation with taking the melody up and octave.

*Singing- Although several people through his travels have commented that Helvechar has a beautiful voice, he rarely sings because, as he found out through a court musician he was talking with, his vocal range is essentially mezzo-soprano. Despite the embarrassment he feels toward his high voice, a few traveling bands of musicians have asked if he'd join as a vocalist... All of which he promptly declined.

Relationships

History
Helvechar doesn't like to talk about his past, given the majority of his childhood was spent in conflict with his seemingly overbearing father. What he will tell you, provided you can get him to stop playing and get to know the feathery fellow, is that he was born in Ketra, and that his mother and father recently moved from the homeland farther east. Sometime during his teenage years he fell in love with the music of his family's homeland, by way of hearing his mother sing a few songs from the east. Eventually, he was given a violin by a local musician, the very same violin he plays to this day.

However, as he grew older, Helvechar's father became more and more opposed to his son's growing love of music, and even threatened to disown him. Regardless, Helvechar kept playing, and, one day, the two of them got into an argument. It isn't a favorite topic of his, to say the least. He was playing his fiddle on the streets one day, when his father came up to him, ears raised in challenge and authority. He started to yell, making a scene as he ranted on about how music held only danger and sin. Finally, after years of hearing the same speech over and over, Helvechar broke and cursed his father for being a close minded fool. These words effectively severed their relationship, and having basically disowned his family, the young gryphon left Ketra for the world, eagerly shaking the dust of its roads off his paws.
