Athran nodded.

"I respect you, too... You're a good fighter... You caused not only my muscles, but also my mind work hard. I wouldn't kill you. I don't kill, unless paid for." he replied silently.

He flinched a little when the ice covered the blood on his leg, but seeing that it stopped the crimson river, flowing out of it, he was somewhat grateful for it. "Thanks. You must be pretty hungry to go that far for a corpse of a deer, too..."

He glanced at the deer, still frozen on the ground afar. "I think I'll share it. I wouldn't eat a whole damn deer no matter how hungry I'd be, anyway. You fought far too much and I suppose you won't be able to catch one alone." 

It was difficult for him to admit, but he almost got defeated himself - if not thinking quickly, all of the battle could have ended differently.

"I think we'll agree on one thing... Humans are worthless. To the fiery pits with them." he groaned.
