"Ooh! Ooh! I know! We can play I Spy! I'll start!" Neyan's voice rang out, struggling to keep up with Tri, who was walking ahead of her quite quickly. "I spy, with my little eye..." She began, Tri already sighing in pure annoyance. He wasn't the type of man to easily get irritated at his companions, but with Neyan, it was difficult not to. He and the healer had become close acquaintances in the past, meeting in almost every land that Le'ranna had to offer. With every close scrape he endured, the bubbly Connlaothian was more than happy to patch him up. And here they were, traveling together yet again...
Through the tundra, as a matter of fact. A frigid, dead wasteland with rolling hills of dirt and hard ice, streams and ponds frozen over by the harsh climates. Tri never could understand why people would ever want to live out in these conditions, but he was never one to judge. After all, there were many that probably questioned why he lived nowhere at all. The only reason he was out in the tundra, was simply to act as an escort for Neyan. The healer had claimed that a settlement was among these frozen wastes, but so far, they had seen nothing. Not only did his annoyance come from the fact that she was talking his ear off, but she was also possibly lying.
"I spy, with my little eye... Something white!" Neyan exclaimed, forcing Tri out of his thoughts. He huffed, rolling his eyes before rubbing them gently, his face almost completely covered by a mask and cloak. "Snow. It's snow, Neyan. For the 1,000th time, it's snow." He told her, stopping to look in her direction. "Yeah... Too easy. I spy, with my little eye... Hmm..." She began, tapping her lips with a finger. "Neyan." "Ooh! Ooh! I've got a good one!" "Neyan." "I spy, with my little-" "NEYAN!" Tri shouted, ending her chattering suddenly. He sighed. "Please... All I ask is a short silence. Please." He requested, continuing to walk. After a long time, the girl spoke up in barely a whisper. "... Steam."
Tri stopped yet again, looking back at her and raising a brow. Her gaze met his, extending an arm and pointing off towards the horizon. Tri followed her subtle gesture, narrowing his eyes as he did his best to spot the vague clue. Sure enough, steam was visible, rising into the air and causing the ground to be covered in a thin fog. Another thing to note was that ice was nonexistent in that area. A hot spring... A prime location for a settlement. He smirked, nodding to her as he changed his direction, heading for the spring. Upon arrival, the two watched in awe as the peaceful spring was loaded to the brim with tents, shacks, and huts. People were... Actually thriving in the tundra? Granted, it was a spring, but even here, food was scarce.
Removing his cloak, Tri revealed his messy, rust-colored locks, which blew in the wind. Neyan also pulled down her hood, smiling as she looked around. The place looked downright disgusting, but it was obvious that she didn't really care. Neyan saw the good in everything. And the one thing she thought as she saw this little settlement, was more jobs. Out in the tundra, getting sick and injured was an everyday expectation. Some good labor for the healing mage. What Tri was going to do here, he didn't know. Perhaps talk with the locals... Find something interesting to explore or search into. Before he knew it, Neyan was running off down towards the spring, giggling like a child. "Hey! Hold up!" He called to her, chasing her down.
