"Heh, is it getting colder for you my friend?" Kave asked the little human girl walking alongside him. Together the two stood out tremendously in the bleak, somewhat flat landmass the large bear had lead them in. Distant forests dotted the landscape in front, while just beyond them lied the large Kilanthro Mountain range even farther beyond the borders of Connolaoth. The night was late, as the moon in the sky far above had reached the end of its climb, and was now beginning its long descent to the edge of the world.

The large armoured bear was walking at a moderate pace. Despite the heavy battleaxe situated on his back, and the steel armour that covered his body, he was still moving at a speed less desired by him. However it was a necessity. The tiny girl beside him was no older then 11 years, and she was quite weak from the previous event. Kave grimaced as he thought back to it... Poor kid. She had to watch her parents be tortured to death. Luckily Kave managed to save her and kill the bandits before she was raped, tortured, and then killed herself. He still cursed himself for not arriving in time to save the rest of her family now. What would she do? Where would she go? For now the friendly bear was escorting her back to civilization, hoping someone reliable could look out for her.

"The wind is cold..." She responded wearily before Kave understood and stopped. He kneeled down and extended an arm. "Aye then, climb on my shoulder. Maybe my fur will keep you from getting sick." He told her with a faint smile, but a genuine look of concern still locked in his expression. She did as instructed and Kave lifted her up. She quickly adjusted the blanket she had been given around her body and fell silent against the bear's neck.

How many more of these people need to suffer because of these bandits? He thought silently as he trekked onward. He clenched his paw as he remembered the bandit's leader had gotten away.

However, he had bigger concerns. Like keeping this child alive, otherwise his entire escapade would have been pointless...

The darkness was home to many strange creatures. It was also home to those who still clung to the the world of the living. Those creatures who should have moved on long ago. One such creature was moving threw the darkness. The only thing that gave her away was a faint glow of icy blue light that surround her being. If one looked at her wrists they would see blood dripping from them. Those were not her death wounds though. Just another gift from being dead.

As she moved threw the darkness she did not notice that there was others nearby. She was far from her haunting grounds. She was a traveler in life and so she was also a traveler in death. She moved with out making a sounds. She was a peaceful being who just wanted peace. However her darker half wanted to avenge her death. Though that meant that she was not really picky about who she hurt to do so. Thankfully that half was still sleeping. She had not felt her stir in days.

She the stopped moving when she heard the sound of heavy footsteps walking nearby. Who was wondering around at this hour? She frowned when she realized that they were getting closer to her. She moved quietly and turned herself solid. She did not want to scare anyone. Her hands still dripped blood. For some reason her ghostly appearance still showed through at times.

Now who was out here with her was the most important thing right now. She waited for them to come closer to her so that she could see them better.

The night was cold. I held my coat tight so the chilly breeze wouldn't carry it awey. Armed with a glowing candle, I made my way through the darkness. I had no idea where I was going. I was trying to reach the next town to find a shelter for the night but by now, I was certain there was no civilisation around for miles. My bag was heavy and my back was already hurting. Even if I walked in a slow pace, I was getting tired.

I was trying to find someone with magical powers, a wizard or a simple magician would've been enough.  Someone who would help me lift my curse.

Someone, anyone who could, maybe, have a spell to cure me. Even someone who knows a lot about the local deities would've been helpful.

Sure, that i was just imagining, I had felt a faint presents for a while now. Maybe, I had even seen an icy glow in the distance. I was slightly concerned about what was lurking in the dark but I went on. There wasn't anything that would stop me.

The cold air blew right through me as I flew aimlessly through the forest. I was headed to a city to see if anything had developed, as I frequent these places often in the later hours of the night. "Maybe someone be able to see me this time," I say hopefully. This had been going on for weeks at this point, I would fly to a village, I would wander around a while, and then leave after a while. Due to my curiosity I found int hard to not search villages for those who could see my ethereal form, for i longed for anyone to talk to. I thought to myself, "This time, I can sense there's something off, I just know I'll find something this time".
