Hana adored Serendipity. The people, the culture, the music, the food- gods, she really should spend more time here.

She snorted to herself quietly as she ducked through a crowded street into the even more crowded square- must have been some sort of festival or market fair going on. She always said that she should spend more time "here"- wherever here happened to be at the time. It never seemed to work out.

Still, she was only a hop, skip, and a jump away from old Tobin's house here, and she'd been meaning to see him more often. Maybe she'd really mean it this time...

She was pulled from her thoughts by the sound of soft lute music drifting over the crowds. Head tilted curiously, she glanced around in an effort to find the source of the sound, but couldn't spot the player. She supposed it wasn't that odd- there were bound to be plenty of performers out on the street on a day like today, probably just one of them.

Although the music really was lovely. Much more skilled than what she'd come to expect from most roaming bards and the like, closer to something one might expect to hear from some lordling's musical pet.

She smiled to herself and swayed, then turned on the spot. Eyes half closed, she wove her way easily through the crowds, half dancing and half skipping. She drew a few stairs, but she didn't mind; she did that anyway, even in Serendipity she knew her coloring could be eye-catching. The music drew her forward and her smile grew as she spun on the ball of her foot and narrowly avoided crashing between a couple linked arm in arm. They started in surprise, but a quick grin and a wink was enough to mollify them as she continued her strange little walk-dance through the crowd

In the closely guarded region of the riverlands, it was most ironic that crime was so casual and commonplace around here. You could see it right away if you knew what to look for. It was always smuggle this and extort that. Rex didn't respect the hustle - not because it was dishonest, but because it hardly put you out there. How could anyone appreciate your clever tricks when you hid in the shadows? It wasn't nearly glamorous enough for his liking.

In an effort to bring some honest cheer to the people he zeroed in on the trade city of Selevea for his tour. While none of them knew his name right now, he was trying to resolve that with every step. Because he deserved it. He wished to unleash mania in the crowd someday, to see their fanaticism proclaimed a mental ailment (preferably named after him). Such renown would take a lot of experimentation and effort to be sure, but he was worth it.

It was basic theory. Lure them in with something soft, and build up to breaking point. While he wasn't here to deliver a full concert, he was willing to entertain them for a while. He'd set his fabulous hat forth by a local inn looking to earn his next scraps. From there it was a standard run-of-the-mill session.

Less ordinary was the hint of a silver-haired vixen caught in the midst of the bustle. And her dress, how unusual. Perhaps she was Thanati? It was something he truly appreciated about Serendipity. You never knew what you might see. He didn't miss a beat, in fact the rare sight inspired him. He improvised a bridge and moved on entirely, singing about whatever first came to mind; a piece about a fox on the run.

The kistune paused, ears perking up- metaphorically- as she caught the lyrics as the song changed. She glanced down at herself on reflex, wondering if she'd somehow shifted into her halfway form, as she called it.

Nope. Still human, in appearance at least. Coincidence then? Ah well.

She shrugged and put it from her mind, twirling through the crowd again with a small smile on her face. She was closer to the source of the music now, close enough that he magic tingled with the vibrations in the air. Oh, she loved that feeling. Didn't happen often- this bard must be good.

She laughed suddenly, not really sure why but not questioning it, and found herself in a gap in the milling crowds. Her prancing little steps halted as she nearly tripped over a rather ostentatious hat and she snapped her eyes up to find the source of the music she'd been following.

Hana smiled and tilted her head, silver hair swinging loose over her shoulder. Not wanting to interrupt the song, she finished into a fold of his kimono and pulled out three silver pieces, dropping them into the hat with another smile before she whirled away again, swaying and skipping to the flow of the melody.

She didn't go far. This close to the performer, the tingles and shivers his music sparked in her magic had reached a perfect frequency, and she was more than happy to keep her improvised little dance in his immediate vicinity.
