{PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION} Tall and strong, with dark, knowing eyes and a face littered with scars, Ardeth strikes an imposing figure. At a point in his life, he must have been a handsome man, with forming laugh lines and wrinkles from a former life spent smiling.
His skin is a smooth, deep brown, marked only here and there with bright stripes of scarring. The most severe ones are on his face, with a vivid cross-cut between his eyes and across his brow, as well as a series of cuts vertically along his lower lip. Not usually seen are the scars across his throat, those covered by a thick, bronze gorget, where his vocal chords were damaged beyond repair. Nor is it common for him to bare other, more painful scars.
In fact, it's a rare moment indeed that Ardeth is not in full dress and armor, burgundy-dyed sheer cloth making up the wrap of his shirt as well as the roomy, baggy pants he keeps secure with leather greaves and thick sandals. He's also never without his sword, a wicked curved thing that usually does the trick of intimidating any potential miscreants away from temptation.
As a harem guard, however, there are certain parts to his appearance that he doesn't like to— nor can he, really— talk about. He's a eunuch, rendered so when he was purchased to be assigned to his present duty as a guard.
{PERSONALITY}- Background noise; The first thing about Ardeth is that it takes a while to get a feel for who he really is. Left with no means to effectively communicate with others, and with his personhood out of his own hands, it's difficult to see what makes him him. For most all of the world, he puts on the expected persona of stone-faced guard, little more than another accessory, albeit a potentially lethal one.
- Deeply affectionate; Ardeth is, at his heart of hearts, a lover. He is doting, adoring, loving and emotionally present. Or rather, if he were allowed the ability to make these kinds of connections, he would be. As it stands, he reserves all his softness for his charges, them being the closest to a family as he's had in a very long time.
- Smarter than he lets on; It's easy to pretend Ardeth is dumb as well as mute, and it's amazing how often people tend to make this mistake. He's more than willing to play along, though, and often uses it to his advantage whenever there's someone around who shouldn't be.
Fun Facts!:- Loves dogs. The bigger, the happier, the better. He also tends to dote on the local strays.
- Loves sweets. Honeyed nuts, baklava, figs, the works.
- Favorite color is green!
- His greatest regret in life is that he can't make any dad jokes.
