It was dangerous, Aesop was reminded, to be a mage in Connlaoth.

He had thankfully managed to avoid any sort of detection so far, but nevertheless the man didn't plan to stick around for long. Any other day he would have avoided this magic-devoid place like the plague, but he was on a job, see... get in, and reclaim some long lost and nostalgic trinket from a man who had stolen it from Aesop's client long ago. He didn't have much to go on, unfortunately... only that the man was probably rather elderly, and was suspected to live in some specific part of the city.

Aesop was certainly hoping the pay for this job was superb. Hazard costs alone would be high, and he was already getting some stares, being a stranger in the area.

'If that guy throws a fit if I can't find this little doodad of his, I'm going to give him a piece of my mind... He mumbled something to himself as he pushed through a particularly thick part of the crowd, earning some angry words in the process.

Cain was feeling depressed. Here, in a hostile country, on a wild goose chase for some doodad that probably held little but sentimental value now, and -nothing- good to eat! Didn't these people know that some foods were worth the chance of disease or heart failure? Cain sighed, eying row after row of boring, safe food options. Rubbish. Part of life is risk, even with your food. He decided it would be best to finish this mission soon, for one because there was absolutely nothing interesting to eat, two because he had never felt the magic nulling effects of a Mordecai, and he didn't intend to any time soon. This better be a kriffing huge reward. Enough to buy some -real- food. It didn't help things that he had absolutely -nothing- to go on. Other then the target was some old husk living in this city. Cain took a moment to decide on his next course of action, spending a few moments gazing at the crowds. Hmm... there's something interesting. Cain noticed a man, older by the looks of it, pressing through the crowd and doing his best to blend in. Which he was not, at least by Cain's standards. Perhaps it would yield something useful to follow him... you never know what you can find just by taking a walk. Cain thought, grinning as he set off to shadow the mysterious stranger.

This city was such a disappointment. By what she had heard, Amy expected banners denouncing mages, soldiers parading captured mages through the streets, etc. Such a disappointment. Oh well, entertainment could still be found.

As for now, the flow of the crowd dictated where she went: up one street, around this corner, down that street, Amy did not care where she went, she was here to watch people. How they interacted with one another, how their views effected their reactions, and whatnot, after all, how else would she study the confusing world of emotions? Like that shop stand for instance, the customer was bargaining with the stand keeper at the top of her lungs, but was she angry or just yelling to be heard? Very interesting.

Amy stopped where she was and pulled out a little notebook and a pen and started taking notes. People grumbled at her for stopping in the middle of the street, and she took those down too. So many people, so many things to write. It was all so frustrating, she needed to sit, but so many people were bumping into her. She reached out and grabbed the person who most recently bumped her.

"Why can't you just be polite and say 'Excuse me?'"

((Hope I'm not imposing, but I'm just assuming that the random person Amy grabbed was one of y'all's characters. :3 I couldn't really think of any other way to have her be affiliated with them. ^.^; That's what posting at a quarter until four will do to you. :P I'll edit if needed.))

It was Aesop that Amy had grabbed, something that could be expected with his shoving about. He was a bit surprised by the sudden grip on his arm, and looked down at the hand, eyes tracing up the arm to the person the arm belonged to.

He looked at Amy, a frown on his face, and coughed. "You may want to apologize yerself, girl. This ain't a line to stand around in, it's a road." He tugged his arm out of Amy's grip. "There're better places for you to be scribbling."

((OCC: S'ok! And I apologize for taking for taking forever and a day to post. :3 Work, friends and family like me a little too much. ^.^'))

Well this one was rude, wasn't he? After all, just because he was right didn't mean he had to say it that way. Yet it was another example of the different ways human emotions could effect people. Amy let go of him and wrote down the reaction he had given. This man also seemed to be a kind of people a lot of good notes would come from, judging from his reaction.

The crowd of people was flowing around the two people, a few passersby giving off occasional mutters about them blocking the way. Amy gave up on taking notes on the people passing by. She had enough notes on agitation for now. Maybe.

"If this is not a good spot to 'scribble,' as you say, would you mind escorting me to a place that would be acceptable?" Amy asked. Perhaps she could get some more notes from this black haired person, and if he was not willing, well...He didn't really have a choice in the matter.

((It's okay, life can get in everyone's way. At the very least we can hopefully get this moving again!))

Aesop sighed, rubbing his head at Amy's request. He was supposed to be reclaiming stolen goods, not escorting strange (and possibly crazy) woman to safe areas to scribble.

"...side of the road. Then you won't be a rock in a stream of people." He motioned towards... where ever. Towards the side of the road, in his mind.

He would have walked off then, but he wanted to make sure this strange person didn't get run over by a cart or something.
