Who:  Carnagie Tylphe (Cara)
Where:  A side street of Ketra, not far from the crowded shopping area.

Quietly walking down the small road, Cara kicked at the dirt with her new shoes.  She knew nothing of keeping her fancy clothes clean, she only knew it was important to have them.  Her hair blew around wildly in her face, It hadn't been brushed at all.  The hem of her new pants was getting trampled under her shoes, and would soon begin coming unstitched.   Most other girls would have felt messy, dirty or maybe just sloppy, but Cara felt impressed with herself.  A street rat dressed every bit as fancy as those 'hidy tidy' folks who ignore her on the streets.  As she neared the crowded shopping area, she looked up to see a familiar sight, and her  face seemed  to glow with joy.

"Tikky," she called, her arms stretched out and her knees bent low, "There's my boy, come on!"  She loved cats, and always assumed they loved her just as much.  Tikky walked up and rubbed himself against her leg, hoping she didn't really expect him to jump up into her arms, cause he never would.  Cara reached down and scooped him up in her arms, cradling him to her chest.  Tikky was her favorite of all and he was a bit afraid of quick movements.  Settling on her shoulder and chest, he dug a few claws into her shirt, so not to fall.  Hair shed off into Caras hand and onto her clothes as she petted on little Tikky.  "You wanna go shopping?"

Getting into sight of the market, Cara looked the crowd over.  The crowd seemed especially thick over near the bakery and tavern. She was always happy to see a busy day.   Every thief loves a crowd.

She held tight onto Tikky as she worked her way into the crowd.   She moved around aimlessly, being careful to look for anyone 'noticing' her.  Given her approach to stealing, they always knew who had robbed them, but never til after she was gone.  Getting spotted by someone she had stolen from before could be dangerous.   One poor schmuck she stole from later got a job at the apothecary, so she couldn't work that area anymore, which was a shame.  A few of the towns guards watched her, but in a crowd like these, its impossible to watch one person for long.

As she came to a stop near the bakery, she had found her mark.   Reading the crowd as she walked through, she knew who had money, who didn't and who would be an easy job.  Her mark she saw was on the opposite side of the bakery, close to the butchery: A noble who looked quite confused.   A noble will seldom shop for himself, and this one obviously didn't know where everything was located.  He was rich, he was still young and he was out of his element.  This mark was easy pickings.

She made her way in front of the bakery, getting closer to her mark.  She gave Tikky a little rub between his ears, which he seemed to enjoy.  "Sorry about this" she said and maneuvered the cat off of her cradled arm and into her hands.  Walking up to the noble, she made eye contact with the man, then pulled a simple 'tripping' to her hands and knees and hurled the cat towards his feet.

Tikky flew out of her hands, landing at the mans feet.  He ran past him and hid behind a nearby crate.  She loved how Tikky hated sudden movements.  He made such a perfect lure.  "Tikky, come back!" Cara cried as she stood up from the ground.  The noble looked behind him at where the cat lay hiding.  He reached his hand up to motion her to wait.

The man walked to the crate and reached down to retrieve her cat for her, but all he got for his trouble was a hiss and 3 scratches across his hand.  He laughed, trying not to show anger or surprised."I'll get her for you miss, no worries."  He managed to scoop the cat into his hand and pick her up.   He turned around, both proud of himself and ready to let go of this crazy cat.  He seemed shocked to find that the young lady was gone.  He looked around a bit, and saw no sign of her.  Confused, he slowly put the cat down on the ground, where it could run off.

Tikky ran into the crowd, bolting between feet and around carts.  From across the street, Cara watched as he jumped a small fence to find a safe spot.  Cara sit in her own safe spot behind the Inns shrubbery. Looking through the pouch she lifted off the Noble, she was disappointed to see that there was much less than she hoped.
