"You can't have this one," Arnel said, his hand resting threateningly on the pommel of his sword as he stood between Lilith with her arm around her prey and the staircase to the privet rooms above. It had been sometime sense he'd last seen Lilith, and his bad luck would have it, he ran into her at a roadside in where she was enthralling travelers - enticing them into sin surly, and likely (he believed) eating their souls as she did so.

He didn't want to draw her into combat here, inside the inn, but he couldn't let her have this innocent soul either.

Contrary to popular belief, Lillith didn't eat the souls she captured (per say). Yes, she used sex to drink their life-force, but it was poultry little compared to the amount of a full lifetime. More like extracting a vial of blood from a grown man's body, most wouldn't even miss it. It was hardly dangerous to the body if one wasn't a complete addict. No, the soul was only truly lost to Molk when a man sinned with her and continued to sin until his dying breath. It was easy in the sense that men simply had an innate desire to sin and keep sinning, particularly with her. The challenge became when guilt would seize upon their hearts and they would turn to Ekjin, most frustratingly of all when they were on their death beds. Convincing a sinner that there was no salvation, that the debt was too great, was easy and annoying. Why couldn't this nosy knight mind his own business? It wasn't like he was any better than her current prey.

Arnel was disturbing a very night make out session with Lillith's latest victim, a lanky but cute young man with hypnotized bright blue eyes, dark hair, and killer cheekbones. He would be quite the fetching heartbreaker when he was older. Better to entice him with the powers of lust and have him grow to ruin every girl in the town! The succubus rolled her eyes, but did not disentangle herself from her prey.

"You needn't be so possessive, bird-boy. You can have a turn too if you want. There's room in the bed for all three of us..." She gave him a cheeky look. "Besides, this is his choice to make, not yours. He came to me of his own free will. You do remember free will, don't you?" The tip of her tail trailed lightly up his throat and touched his chin sensually, daring him to start a fight. "Of course, if you want to dance, we can dance."

She loved it when he was angry.

He tried to be better. It was all anyone could do. Arnel, of all people, knew he was flawed. He never propertied to be perfect, in fact, he was very likely to be the first to point out all his own short comings.

Arnel made a disgusted face. Besides the fact he was not at all attracted to men, the idea of a threesome, or even crawling into any bed with Lilith was enough to make him wretch on principal.

"Oh, so you didn't do anything to influence him either, I suppose... no pretty lies, no misleading cantrips?" He wouldn't believe her even if she said it was the case. "I don't suppose that you were upfront with him about the fact that when you lead people astray into sin, your goal is the everlasting damnation of their soul."

Arnel snapped in front of the young man's face. "Come on now, kid," he was about the urge him away when he felt the brush of Lilith's tail under his chin. He grabbed it and gave it a harsh yank. He didn't let go, instead drawing his sword in an attempt to cut the offending appendage short.

It stirred something in his body though. He ignored it. He knew that kind of touch from his dreams, but he refused to let it entice him into action in the real world. He would do better than the desires of a weak man. To desire something one aught not was one thing, to act on it another entirely. He did not act on this one.

Lillith rolled her eyes. Men will be sinful even with no persuasion at all. That is simply their nature. It's not my fault my way is more fun than yours.

When he yanked her tail, she yelped and slapped him hard across the face to pull it back. "For a knight, you have terrible manners, bird-boy," she growled. "Maybe you need a good lashing to remember your fancy oaths- did "never harm a lady," mean nothing to you?" The she took out a comically large whip out of seemingly nowhere, though in truth it had simply expanded from a string the size of her pinky. She whipped it wildly at him, knocking vases to the ground and cutting tables in half.

Her prey was fairly confused, having little access to see the spiritual realm.

"It's overridden by that part about defeating the wicked," Arnel said with disdain. He drew his sword and cut the whip in half the second time she raised it against him. "Enough games," Arnel said, "let him go and fight me without running away this time."

A wicked grin fell on the seductress' lips. "Catch me if you can," she teased before dragging her prey into the adjoining room, shutting the door, barring it with a chair and then climbing out the window. The young man gleefully followed her like it was a child's game, and to Lillith, it was. They raced down a dark alleyway and stealthily returned to their make out session. His hands were under her dress without any prompting as the sucubus' sweet lips sucked at his neck.

It was a battle as old as the demon and the knight were themselves. Between the two of them, Arnel was the strategist, and Lillith was quick on her feet. They both won about as many battles as they had lost. While there were other knights and demons in the area, the two always seemed to be drawn to each other. Not that Lillith particularly minded. Arnel was her favorite to play with.

To Lilith is was a game, but to Arnel it was a matter of souls - more earnest than life and death. He kicked in the door with one solid go of it with a steel clad boot. He was in the room just in time to see the young man trailing behind her down the alley behind the inn.

Arnel grabbed the boy by the collar of his shirt and yanked him back and away from her with force. He ripped off a heavy leather glove with his teeth and then let it fall to the ground as he placed his bare palm on the boy's chest. "Let Kejin's light show you truth," he said, and when his words were done the man's eyes cleared and he blinked, confused. At that instant, Arnel turned his sword on Lillith.

Lillith took out a long hair pin and used it to parry his sword. "tsk tsk tsk. That wasn't very nice of you, Bird Boy. A girl's gotta eat somehow," she said with a cute pout. She jumped up and used his shoulder to launch herself higher to reach a rooftop before running away. He could chase her if he wanted. After all, that was what she wanted.

Arnel sighed. He'd already won, at least by his estimation, the boy was freed from her thrall. But when she jumped, he spread his wings wide and leaped to the sky, taking flight. Then he gave chase. It wasn't a fun game for her, but it was his job to bring her to justice. "You'll be eating no innocent souls on my watch, demon," he called back.

Luckily for Lillith, there were plenty of ways for demons to get away. One of which was to light a rather small bomb that was more smoke than fire. She pulled the trigger out quickly before throwing it over her shoulder and jumping down a crevice. The bomb went off with a satisfying bang and foul smelling smoke was everywhere. With the cover of the thick smoke, she rushed over to the dense trees. She giggled quietly to herself as she reached the tree line.
