Soooo this morning the site went down for a bit.

And when it came back up, things went bonkers. >_>  Posts ended up in random place, sometimes by random authors.  Some posts were gone entirely.  Utter chaos, mass hysteria.  Dogs and cats living together.  There doesn't seem to be a way to recover the lost posts unfortunately. :/

There also seems to be a super fun ADVENTURE MODE now in place wherein clicking on a thread will sometimes take you to a SURPRISE RANDOM THREAD.  So have fun with that!

Basically, you guys are SO awesome that our host can no longer contain us.  We are just bursting out of our britches with a truly breathtaking force of transcendent supremacy.

Rhi's on the job!  We've found a more robust host that we like and hope to get the move underway as soon as possible, basically once we figure out the process of transferring our domain name.  We're also backing up the site on a daily basis now, to ensure nothing gets too far lost if we go down again.

In the meantime, we suggest saving your posts in a doc somewhere.

I think I only lost one post? (maybe..) but now I'm worried about posting as it seems some things aren't completely 'fixed' x.x

Poor server, it's probably overwhelmed with SOTE's awesomeness :T

Just save your posts! But it looks like it only affected posts that were made during that time period, thank goodness! @___@

But yeah, I've sent some inquiries into some other hosting companies and am just waiting to hear back from them! 8D Once I get some good answers, we can move SotE over to a much greener pasture!

Also if anyone notices any other weirdness, be sure to let me know and/or link me to those threads! I may not be able to fix everything, but I wanna document it. :3

I know we were able to last time but will we be able to move everything on the site over or should we back up from the beginning?

Weird...@___@ Ugh. Well hopefully this calms down. I reported this all to my current host and am waiting back. Because while we'll be moving, I want things to be as calm and normal as possible on the current host until that time! xD

But oh yeah! Everything will transfer over when we move! 8D So nothing will be left behind or lost, as it'll just be a matter of moving our data from one host to another. ^^ From a member perspective, the transition should be seamless!

Now here's hoping those companies get back to me quick!

Hey, the same thing happened on ROTE despite its slower traffic, so will we be moving to a new host on that end, too?

Oh geeze. Why do I miss all of the action? xD I swear...it's like SotE throws a tantrum while I'm gone or something.

I think I can be of some minor assistance here. If anyone notices a misplaced post, they can pm it to me(or Looshi) and I can contact the owner of that post and ask them if they want it so they can copy and paste it into it's rightful place and then I can delete the wayward post itself.

Not sure if I have the ability to move a lone post into it's rightful place. xD I think you can only move a thread which doesn't help in this case. Anyways, was just a thought!

It all actually depends on your moderation power settings. some moderators can move entire threads and even poatong sections to new locations. id ask your admin to check your mod powers and see if you can. dependant on the moderation system.you use it could be fairly easy or vry complex to move stuff around

Anyway, thank you two (the God and Goddess of SotE) so much! I'm sure things like these are more annoying for you guys than for us. But you know, I guess there's just no handling our awesomeness. xD

Further updates on the move!

Rhi had to get her explodey appendix taken out. xD  So hospital bills mean the move is on hold for a few weeks until we can afford it!
