Title: Cat's night out (Open)
Post by: Grgr on February 27, 2017, 12:01:20 PM
It yawned as it wandered the roofs. It had been roaming the night for a couple of hours now and it was getting bored. The markets have long since closed, and while there were so establishments still open, they were not they types of places for a cat to go.

It wanders to the edge of the roof, stretches, and after making sure no one was around, jumps off the 30 foot tall building. With a small plop, it land on all fours and continues to walk, without a care in the world. It leaps onto a dry barrel and lay down comfortably. It was about to doze off when something in the distance caught his attention. It was commotion with a couple of people, but it could not see the situation clearly.

Torien wasn't having any of it. The two gentlemen he'd pickpocketed were onto him, and he needed to lose the duo before they cornered him.

Rounding a corner, he came to such a dead end. He removed his boot and shoved the coins inside before tossing it over the tall iron gate that stood in the way. The leather boot landed inside an empty crate.

The duo cornered him, asked where the money was. When he shrugged, they asked again before noticing that his boot was missing. They asked about that, too.

Torien scoffed. "That's not really the vanishing act you are gonna be most impressed with," he said. His body leaned against the iron gate, and he felt the rug-burn sensation that came as a result of his race's weakness. Still, he tried his best to pay it no mind as he pulled a handkerchief from his tunic.

"Sorry, but you'll have to try harder." He made a sneezing sound and released his glamour's effects, creating a cloud of sparkles in the process.

As soon as he had cover from the cloud, his diminished form flew over the gate and into the crate, where he could easily retrieve the gold as well as find his cleverly-stashed wardrobe.

He did even see the cat that lurked nearby.

It yawns but stops midway when it sees the glittering storm of sparkles.

Anyone who knows cats, could see that this one was getting ready to pounce. It's eyes dart around the sparkles until his eyes fall onto the Fae. The butt shakes once more and it leaps through the air, if anyone was watch they would see it's inhuman jump as it flies through the air, faster than an arrow, it's mouth opened wide, ready to catch the Fae.

Torien climbed from the boot with his clothes carefully draping his body, and immediately was caught between the teeth of a cat.

"H-hey!" he shouted, struggling to remember how to talk to cats. He'd spent so much time with birds that he hadn't been very keen on cats, but he realized that it was a matter of life and death.

"H-hey there, put me down please?" he asked, flailing his teeny arms in vain.

It rolls the Fae around in his mouth, then put the fae under his tongue, it sweeps up the Fae's purse and makes it's getaway. It shakes his but and jumps the 30 feet strait up to the roof, making sure to keep the Fae in his mouth, but out of his throat. It yawns and spits out the Fae while it was at it. It looks hopefully at the Fae, but when it doesn't sparkle the look on it's face could kill even the most hard core soldier. It paws the Fae, looking for sparkles.

Torien scrambled to regain his composure as he was promptly released. His fragile wings were soaked in saliva, and he couldn't m open them or move them from their wet weight.

As soon as he was able to separate his wings, the cat's paw repeatedly tapped down on him. The first tap knocked him over, and the rest simply smacked him.

He shakily stood as his body began to glow a bit in anger. "Kitty, what was that about?" he asked.

It's eyes begun to glow with glee as the Fae began to glow. The cat wiggles its butt again and leaps towards it, and started to juggle with the fae while laying on its back. Up the Fae went, down went the paws. When the Fae started to fall its paw started to rise. Fortunately, or unfortunately, the cat was extremely careful with it's new found toy. Other than a massive head ache and a upset stomach, nothing bad was  going to happen to the Fae.

If one looked closely one could see the cats fur color begin to change. It grew bigger, more fluffier, and the spots were white. The cat had turned into his Wind element mode. It grew faster, but the blows became softer.

Torien panicked at the sight of the marks, but realized quickly that the blows to the body were becoming softer. His headache certainly was going from painful to splitting, but his stomach was decently content.

His adrenaline rush had kicked in, and he was certainly fueled by the strangeness of the cat.

As he was picked up again for another throw, he managed to reach out and scratch behind the enormous cat's left ear.

The cat froze and twitched.

It's hind leg started to move back and forth until it blured together it was moving so fast. It pushed its head closer to the Fae, to make sure that the Fae got the right spot. It had a look of bliss on it's face. Its leg started to go so fast, that it started to kick up dust.

Torien smiled and scratched a bit harder. "Looks like it's been a while since you've been pet. You wouldn't happen to be a stray, would you?" he asked. He didn't intend on receiving any clear answer, but at least it was good to ask.

He continued to scratch.

It seems to melt with pleasure, and while it did not look like a stray, it probably was

(  😧  )

Obviously it did not respond to the Fae's question, but it seemed to pause a little at the question, thought that could have been a figment of someones imagination. The cat stoped moving his leg, fliped his body, and then started to move his other back leg.

Torien carefully moved to rub at the cat's belly. "You sure do like petting."

Torien wondered why the cat didn't eat him. He had run into cats before, even had some close calls. But this cat seemed more content to play rather than hunt.

It snorted, and moved so the Fae could reach it's belly better. The white spots were now completely visible. The Fae, with magic of his own, could probably tell that the cat's spots were actually symbols, and they all said the same thing. 'Wind'. While the Fae scratched it's belly, it also scratched it's ears.

"Wind huh?" You must be more elementally based than most cats."

As he continued to rub the cat's belly, he glanced towards the coin purse. There was no way that he was gonna be able to run off with it so quickly.

He wanted so badly to run, but he knew as soon as he set foot away from the cat, it would pounce on him.

It sees that the Fae wanted to leave so it pouts, but then comes up with a brilint idea. It pushes off the Fae and picks up the bag of gold with its mouth, and promptly starts to walk away. If the Fae wanted his gold he would have to follow it. It was pretty pleased with itself for thinking up such a plan.

Torien gasped as the cat picked up the coin purse and began to walk away. "H-hey! I need that! I have to build a house and I need that for the materials!"

He started flying after the cat before landing on top of its head. "Buddy, I need that for--"

He fell forward and into the coin purse.

"Ugh, where are you going, anyway?" he asked.

The cat seemed quite pleased with the Fae's new spot, it was pleased so much, that for a moment it set the bag down and peered into coin bag. But after that moment the ride began to get rough. The cat picked up the bag and started to run. The cat was quicker than an arrow as it zipped acrossed the buildings, over holes, gaps, puddles of waters, it jump over them all. At one point the cat leap to the ground level, ran for a bit, before leaping back up to the tops of the buildings again. But desides a stay coin here or there it tried to make the ride as smooth as possible for the Fae in the bag.

Torien wailed as the cat began to run faster. He ducked his head into the sack and tried his best to breathe slowly.

This cat is going to kill me, he thought. This cat is gonna drop me from some height and I'm gonna die.

A few coins fell out as the cat sprinted, which was horribly disappointing. Alas, he realized how little he could manage to do at the moment.

"C-careful!" he shouted as he felt a large bump.

It leaps over the small(Big) building and lands safely onto the ground. Instead of looking tired, it looked quite refreshed, like it was out on a morning jog. It walks over to it's house and walks inside. It carefully puts the bag down and waits for the Fae to come out. When the Fae does come out, this is what he sees.

The house was obviously old, some places were filled with dust, but most looked like they were carefully swept clean. They were in the entryway to the house. Hanging on a hock next to the door was a large coat, made out of some kind of thick fur, and while it was obviously dusted, it probably never removed from the hook in a while, as it looked old. On the opposite wall to the coat, there sat a shelf. On it sat a sheath of a dagger, also carely dusted, but not moved, the dagger was not inside. Next to the sheath there laid a small toy, obviously for a young girl. Out of all three of theses objects it was the most cared for, for it did not have a single piece of dust on it. The cat pushes the bag closer into the house, and pushes the hole that he used to come in closed with a large log. The log was a perfect fit for the hole and if one did not see it open and close in the first place, no one would know it was there. It yawns and starts to drag the bag of gold carefully, even more deeper into the house.

As it exited the entryway the area opened into what was the living room. In on corner of the room sat a fire place, with logs and sticks so carefully packed together that it looked beautiful. On the mantle above sat a cople of girl dolls. Every single thing in this room was carefully dusted and made pretty as if waiting of someone to come and live in it. Hanging on the wall by nails, sat a sheath that probably belonged to a long sword, but the sword itself was no longer there. In the other corner of the room stood a table with 3 chairs. On the table was carefully set 3 wooden plates and 3 sets of silverware, but they were made out of wood not silver, by the plates they each hand a cup, also made out of wood. There was no food on the plates though, nor water in the cups. Siting at the chair on the head of the table was a hat carefully sat ready for the owner to pick it up, but it has not been moved in a while. On the floor in the middle of the room sat a worn out rug, that used to have brilliant colors of red, green, blue, and gold, but were now dulled and old looking. The floor was spotless, other than the rug, and it looked like it was polished. Sitting in another corner was 2 cat bowls, both made out of wood. One had some water in it, the other was leftover bits of food. Near by the food and water dish sat a big teddy bear, almost as worn out as the rug. It pulls the bag over to the rug and sets it down in the middle of the room. It stares at the Fae.

The beauty of the scene unfolded around him. The house was enormous to him, of course, but even so, it felt like it was caught in time.

As he climbed out of the bag, he looked towards the cat. "Friend, is this where you used to live?"

He wondered how long it had been since tall-folk had inhabited the place. Every cup and every item of clothing was placed perfectly, almost as though the tenants had disappeared overnight. Everything was dusted meticulously in terms of its cleanliness, so he figured that it hadn't been too long.

Perhaps the owners would be back...

He panicked and flittered up to the ledge of the fireplace, where several small kitchy statues were placed. Tigers, bears, sheep... they were all glossy and, you guessed it, dusted clean.

Torien pursed his lips. "Why'd you bring me here, kitty?" he thought aloud.

It watches the Fae with curiosity. The Fae was looking at the statues left long ago, years actually. They were made by it's old master's dad.

It's master was a young girl, barely older than the age of 10. She loved animals and she had quite the collections of dolls. It was picked up off of the street as a child, cold and frost bitten. It's young master begged to keep it and finally young masters dad relented. They took care of it, even got it 2 different dishes. One for water and one for food. They were almost always full...

One day some shouting ones came, they were waving swords and pulling at the young master. It leap out from under the table and took ones eye, but got stabbed in revenge. It, at that time was still a normal cat. It could not do anything to full grown humans.

The young masters father came home soon after, and managed to calm down the attackers. After talking to the young masters father, he himself turned wild, grabbing things they would need and they started to leave.

Young master tried to get them to bring it with them, calling out it old name, Pip. They refused, said it was going to die soon anyways, and dragged young master away. Pip tried to follow but soon collapsed, making it no further than the door.

It woke up later alone, but it's wounds healed. It gave a roar unlike a normal cat and charged out. Soon spots began to show up over it's body, symbols of 'Wind', 'Fire', Water', 'Earth', 'Light', and 'Dark'. It broke though houses looking for them, leaped over walls, broke through walls, nothing. 5 days later it dragged it's beaten and broken body back to it's young masters house.

Ever since that day it stayed here, never leaving, keeping the house clean, and keeping the scavengers away.

It shakes it's head, breaking out of the flashback. It looks over to the Fae, and turns and walks to a door, it was opened and it lead into the hallway that connected the kitchen and other rooms together. It turns and waits for the Fae to catch up.

The Fae watched the cat move through the house and skittered across the hall to follow. "Where are you going now, pal?" he asked.

He jumped after the cat and followed him into the kitchen.

"Whoa..." he breathed.

The kitchen was also a still picture. There was a fireplace, that was probably more like a furnace. Underneath it sat beautifully stacked logs. There was a pot hanging in the furnace. In it was water and it was boiling. Although there was no fire underneath the pot, there were magic symbols on it, and that was probably why it was boiling. There were beautifully cut stone counters, probably very expensive. On the counter was neatly items for cooking. There was a cutting board, with 2 knives on either side, sharpened to perfection. Next to it was a wooden mixing bowl, that had a spoon in it. On the opposite wall sat a large box, probably an ice chest. All throughout the kitchen where cabinets, all were closed though.

But none of that is what shocked the small Fae. All over the roof of the kitchen was lined with runes, that contained massive amounts of magic, but all the ruins were supposed to do was light up the room when someone walked in. But the amount of magic in the roof was enough to destroy this house and then some, if redirected into a spell. The amount of magic isn't what exactly shocked him. It was the way the ruins where written. If someone tried to tamper with the spell, it would vaporize them, a simple lighting spell!

It was written by it's master's father long ago. It seemed to chuckle as it leaps over to the boiling water. It leans it's head over the pot and sniffs, then dips it's paw in.

It pulls it's paws out of the hot water and watches it evaporate for a moment. It then turns to the Fae.

It nods it's head towards one of the cabinets, as if it was say go ahead.

If one looked closely at the doors of the cabinets one would see decorations lineing all of them, but if one looked even closer the 'decorations' were actually magical symbols to keep the food fresh.

Torien quickly looked to the cabinet where the symbols stood and winced. "I suppose there would like be symbols in there to catch mice as well," he mumbled. "Give me a second, friend."

He flew out of the kitchen and down the hall. His wing clipped the doorframe of the kitchen and he went tumbling. "Ugh..."

Torien looked around for something to temporarily wear. He only spotted the fur coat. But it did seem long enough to reach past a point so that nothing embarrassing would be seen.

Breathing out, he changed into his glamoured height and threw the fur coat on. His clothes rarely ever changed with him, so he had to make due with what he had.

"Kitty?" he asked, returning to the kitchen. He didn't think that maybe the cat wouldn't remember what he looked like at that height, but hopefully he'd be able to calm the cat down if it came to that. "I'm back, and now I can reach the cupboards and move things easier."

It watches as the Fae comes back in, it's no idiot, and he can smell his saliva on the Fae.

It does seem to frown when it sees the coat that has not been moved from it's spot in a long time, but does nothing. It sits down and starts to lick it's tail, waiting for food.

Carefully, Torien begins taking the good out of the cabinet and placing it onto the countertop. "I wonder how long these things have been in here..." he muttered. "It seems like you could store food in here for years without it going bad."

After he placed each of the items on the counter, he turned to the cat. "Sorry for moving the coat. My clothes don't normally come with me when I change. Why don't you decide what to put in the stewpot while I fill it with water."

As he grabbed a pot from a nearby shelf, he looked around. "Does this place have a well anywhere?" he asked.

It gets up, after it was done cleaning it's tail of course. It leaps on to the counter, only to hear the Fae's next question. It gives what almost seems like a sigh, and leaps back off the counter. It walks out the door of the kitchen and walks deeper into the house.

It walks past another open door. Inside there was a small bed, with dozens of hand stitched dolls, teddy bears, and other 'soft' toys. The bed sheets and blankets was made out of a extremely light pink thread, but as all other things in this house it was worn out and old looking.

Although old looking, it was completely folded properly and the 'soft' toys were set up around the pillows in a semicircle, right where a person of small size would fit in. The room has panted with pink paint, though it was not peeling off, it was dulled out like the blanket.

The cat walks past the room and continues on. The next room was was another bedroom and obviously the master one. The bed was big enough to hold 2 people, with pretty blue sheets and white pillows. There was a end table by the bed and on it was a cup full of water that looked reasonably fresh, as if it was filled up just this morning. There was also a closed chest at the end of the bed. The rooms also had more things but they were unimportant.

The cat walks to the end of the hallway, and there was one last door. It yawns and licks it's paws waiting for the Fae to catch up. The door lead outside, but it was closed so the cat had to wait for the giant Fae.
