Curious.
That was the word that described the current location. It was hot....sort of. Very warm at least. All the heat of the sun seemed to get stuck inside the interior of the jungle and just made it so warm. It was humid too, there was a bit of moisture in the air, which was depressing. It would mean that wings of any sorts would be quite unusable. Which, in the case of the wandering figure in the forest, she had. It was quite a disappointing thing, there was so much humidity that she was unable to fly.
However, she had the ability to climb very well, and she could run fast if she truly needed to. This would not hinder her, but she still enjoyed flying. Perhaps if she found a stream she could swim, if only for a few minutes. Swimming felt a little like flying...not quite, but a little.
No one would have thought the insectoid woman would have liked swimming. Insects had a hard time swimming, and usually drown. Her race was a little better at it though, and the pores in her exoskeleton could close so she could stop herself from drowning. This little beauty stood at 5'10, and she looked like she weighed over a hundred pounds. The exoskeleton of hers is dark, black and a chocolate sort of brown really. Her eyes, pure black but with an insect shine to it. She moved along carefully, her eyes alert and focused as she kept an eye out for something to interest her.
She looked like a queen almost, spines grew out of her body, at the back part of her, leaving her front more unprotected. She had on her head a grouping of spines that grew upward and looked very much like a crown. The top most spike had a strange tip, that blunted into the shape of a spade almost. She was naked however, and she had some definition of femininity, but her exoskeleton hide any true pieces of femininity.
A new aroma caught her senses, and she looked upward at very tall tree. She could see in the branches, a strange fruit that was growing. Her claws sunk into the bark as she began to climb carefully to the heavens. Once in the branches she retrieved the large fruit. She inhaled the surrounding aroma before her mouth opened. It ran vertical, past where her nose ought to be. She bit into the fruit and savoured the taste of it. Gathering a few more of the sweet fruits she descended from the tree to rest upon a dead fall. With her new bounty, and what would serve to be her breakfast, she began to dig into the fruit.
"Delicious." Her voice was just as insect-like as the rest of her. It had a slightly strange quality to it, but one could tell it was female at least. She munched quietly on these strange piece of fruit, ensuring to spit the seeds out and collect them in a strange flap of armour at her side. She would keep these for later, perhaps if she made it to her own world, she would grow them there. Her people would quite enjoy these...
For a moment, she felt sadness. Would she ever get to see her people again? Would she ever get to know the air of her people's world along her body again. Would the winds ever bring the faint aroma of her people's pheromones? However, she perked up once more as she began to feast on the delicious and juicy fruit. Her troubles were washed away just that quickly, by a good piece of fruit. She was unaware the sweet aroma was wafting around the jungle however, but she feared little from the creatures that lurked in the trees or on the ground. Most insects here could be communicated with using her own insect psychic ability, and truly in a jungle, those were what you had to fear.
