Rica didn't have much when it comes to hunting gear. Most, if not all she used to have she left behind when she fled her home. This only meant that she has to provide for herself the harder way, as always.

Waiting in a canopy of a tree, like she's been for the past few hours, the Yoreiqi observed the ground below. Still nothing. The youth rubbed at her face in frustration, shifting her weight just a little, squatting on a tree limb like some kind of a gargoyle. Still she waited, knife in hand and praying her stomach won't grumble at her while she was trying to be quiet.

The silence was suddenly broken, leaves rustling violently as something was approaching her tree, and fast. Mistaking it for a fleeing deer, the Yoreiqi didn't think twice before leaping at her prey as is was passing under her. The woman blinked in shock as her hand latched onto fur of a particularly large and dangerous bear.

"Shit!" Rica snapped, instinctively stabbing at the fleeing creature once before trying to take off again.

He waited against the wind and listened to its course.  A long ear twitched and the gusts ruffled his cerulean hair, but the perpetual grimace on his face softened with a smile and he knew then that it was time.  The clouds were parted and the winds were right.  "Garaduin, take flight!" Iharu commanded in the guttural words of Draconic.

The sleek dragon nodded it's thorn-spiked head and shot up into the air from the ridge he'd only momentarily been perched upon.  Iharu held onto his dragonmount's reins while his over pulled a javelin out from the leather sheaths on the side.  He held the projectile high by his head, aimed and ready to be launched.  As if by some psychic connection, Garaduin knew to fly low and kept his wingspan steady as the wind carried him down.  But they were picking up speed and Iharu could hear the sounds of beast activity below.  But he was Dravikai and he was trained to kill.

Through the canopy, he saw the animal he sought, a great bear, and knew the animal would make a perfect meal for the both of them.  The sheer size of the animal was enough to intimidate even the heartiest of hunters.  Approximately three times the size of an average grizzly, and bearing claws to match.  He was surprised the animal was running, but running from what he couldn't tell.  All he focused on was his aim and the near unnatural steadiness of his arm despite the wind, despite the velocity at which they flew.  Garaduin was a wise dragon and kept his rider steady.  And with a swish that flurried through the canopy top, Iharu launched the javelin down toward the great bear.  He heard a howl of pain emerge from below as he'd hit his target.

He nudged with his hands and the dragon took him down, low enough so that he could simply fall through the trees.  Iharu landed in a crouch and he watched the dragon fly off to find a safe place to land, which would be somewhere in a clearing nearby.  Iharu landed about a hundred yards away from his prey, and ran the rest of the distance, mindful of his footing and leaving no tracks of his passing.  He held his spear in hand, in case the javelin did not kill the bear directly and he was almost sure that it didn't for the animal was far too hardy, and the hide was prized for it's thickness.  He approached with caution as he waited behind a tree.  Then, when he felt the moment was right, he appeared out from behind the tree.

Iharu's eyes widened and his jaw set in confused fury as he saw someone else already there by his prey.  "Who are you?" he boomed, his voice sharp, deep and with the edge of a rasp to it.  "What are you doing here?  This is my prize here.  Go find your own!"

The Yoreiqi blinked, spotting the javelin as her blade bit into the creature's hide. Not thinking much, the woman seized the lance, wings flapping to get her away from the beast. Another roar came from the creature, the bear immediately going after the bold humanoid. She landed in a crouch on a nearby branch, knife in one hand and the javelin in other.

The woman got a shock of a lifetime when the bear threw its weight against the tree, rattling it from its very roots. With a yelp, Rica dropped her knife and latched onto the branch to gain stability, eyes wide in shock. The tree shook, wood groaning in protest as the beast clawed at it in fury. The Yoreiqi raised the javelin, took aim, and threw it at the creature. The spear buried itself somewhere in the bear's shoulder, another roar reverberating through the air.

It was then that Rica spotted the stranger, and heard him speak. "What!?" The woman snapped, looking down at the bear, which was showing signs of slowing down. She wasn't sure if she delivered it a death blow, as it was highly unlikely. Either way, the beast was still dangerous, and she certainly didn't want the stranger to get hurt.

"What by the gods does it look like I'm doing?" The Yoreiqi shouted. "I'm trying to kill this thing!" She said, nearly growling at his words.

"Ah, no. You stay the fuck away from it." The woman warned in an angered tone. What does this fool think he's doing? Trying to hunt a dire bear and letting it run wild like it did. Rica didn't want to think about who could have gotten hurt aside from the idiot before her.

She certainly wasn't going to let him get near it. Not until it was good and dead, at least.

Iharu drew his own spear and held it negligently with one hand.  His stance was confident, maybe too confident and he quirked an eyebrow at this winged girl who obviously didn't know what she was doing.  He saw the knife in her hand.  Truly she must have been a novice.  Only a novice would go after a dire bear that pitiful excuse for a weapon.  Perhaps trained in the right way, and struck in the right spots, a knife might prove to be more formidable than a sword, but from the looks of her, he seriously doubted her skills.

But his underestimation was careful and fluid, for it never would do should he be proved wrong.  Iharu strode closer to her and stopped approximately ten or fewer feet from the bear.  "I don't think I'll be doing that.  This is my bear.  You're the one who's trespassing, woman.  I don't believe anyone gave you the right to hunt in these lands, outlander.  Now, I'm telling you for the last time.  Get away from that bear."

Iharu furrowed his brows dangerously and came closer still.  He kept his limbs fluid and drew the spear up.  The bear for the moment was spared from raged, and Iharu knew he'd only need half the time given to him to get this trespasser away from his rightful prey.  He took a clearly offensive position, and watched her with steady eyes, waiting for her next move.

Rica saw the bear sway and stumble for a moment, and then the creature promptly collapsed to the ground. The yoreiqi wasn't sure, but from the looks of it, the beast was at least unconscious and heavily wounded. That thing won't be getting up anytime soon.

The merciful thing to do would be to finish the animal off, but the woman had trouble brewing in form of an elf. She saw him approaching the beast, and she hurried, taking flight and landing between the animal and the elf. With no weapons at the moment, the yoreiqi was probably at a grave disadvantage, but that didn't and would never stop her from facing an opponent.

The woman glowered right at the Umbraeon, wings half unfurled and ready for battle. "Oh? And I'm supposed to believe –you- have the right to hunt here?" She said defiantly, raising an eyebrow.

"No. I'm not moving." The yoreiqi spoke with a growl, and then pointed an accusing finger at the man. "Not only did you aim to take a life for sake of selfish gains, you let your prey escape. How many people could have gotten hurt? "

"Did you even think about that, you idiot!?" She suddenly shouted at him.

[Weren't they chasing after the same bear?  Or did he mistake her bear for his bear?  I'm just a little confused, sorry. xD]

All the shouting she was doing put a faint grin on his dark, tattooed face.  Her defiance was intriguing, satisfying even, and he had a feeling as to what he could expect from her.  Her temper was obviously getting the better of her and he had a feeling she wasn't one to spew out empty threats.  Good thing too, because neither was he.

Iharu circled her and for the moment thought nothing of the felled bear.  There would be time for that later.  "Yes.  Yes, I do," Iharu growled, not taking that grin off his face.  "By my very birthright, girl.  By what right do you have?"  The question was rhetorical of course and the Dravikai didn't have any more words for her after she had said that she would refuse to move.

The Umbraeon pulled another javelin the from the leather holsters on his back and without a second or another warning, Iharu spun on his heel and launched the javelin with skilled velocity and speed, throwing it at her while she remained in his way.  "Get down here, you coward," Iharu snapped.

She didn't like the vicious grin that lingered on his face. He circled around her, and Rica was pressured into moving to keep herself between the elf and the bear. Giving her a few words, the man moved into violence, something that was surprising to her. She pegged him as a predatory type, yes, but she never thought he'd outright kill over a prey.

The moment she saw him pulling the javelin, she threw herself to the side into a roll. The weapon missed her by a hair's breadth, burying itself into the ground a bit past her form. The woman rolled straight into a low crouch, ignoring a few loose feathers that flew from her messy wings. She growled furiously, not wasting a beat as she moved to pluck the javelin from the ground.

"Stick your birthright up your ass!" The yoreiqi roared with righteous fury, charging towards the elf then with the javelin in hand, fully aiming to slash at the man with it the moment she was close enough.

Iharu would fight for what was his, it was the code of his blood and as a Dravikai.  He'd trained himself to prepare for battle at any second when the moment struck, to flow like the tide and to crash like a tidal wave.  He might have known she was fast enough to move out of the way of the javelin and he blamed luck for his miss, but stepped back and poised in a battle-stance with his spear in hand.

He said nothing all the while she charged at him, shouting her insult.  He grinned and shifted his weight with ease when she was in range.  He turned the spear a little and placed the butt of it on the ground in front of her feet and swept it upward, effectively tripping her if she ran into it.  Yet he focused a little to much on the sweep to miss the point of the javelin as it grazed his arm.  It did not draw blood, but the scratch of the point stung.  Iharu glared at her with his gold-red eyes.  "You'll have to do better than that if you want that bear, outlander," he scoffed at her.
