The dark, gray clouds concealed the Connlaoth sky, blocking most of the sunlight that would otherwise shine through. The thunder announced the storm's arrival before the rain. First it danced lightly, the water making light noises against the metal shingles of buildings. Then it picked up, a hundred thousand feet stomping on rooftops, streets, creating rivers and lakes out of puddles and drains. An unusual storm it was, the people were saying- most died down after an hour or two in this season. This one, though, this one went on all afternoon. Very unnatural.
Natural or not mattered little to the ghostly figure that wandered through the nearby forest. It hopped and skipped on rocks, carrying along with it a bobbing lantern. Sha-sha enjoyed the storm. He felt alive- as alive as he could- in this weather. Only thing to make the day better was someone to play with. Though the forest was unusually empty so he ventured closer and closer to the city until finally the nearest buildings were but yards away. Maybe, just maybe, he could find a playmate there...
