On Color Invocation
Compiled by Admar Knowledge-Seeker on the 12th of December.

The General Principle:
The idea of Color Invocation is simple really. It can be seen as a form of light magic since color is light and therefore energy that can be tapped into for a variety of effects. Each color has specific energies or set of attributes that can be channeled to create spells that are able to heal, harm, cure, create, transform or any number of other things. This mage will go on to explain in this journal the concepts behind each color and their many applications. It is important to note each color has both positive and negative associations.

The 13 Colors

Red:
energy
strength
acceleration
motivation
speed
agitation
anger
love
passion

The attributes above state that red is a color of ambition and passion. It has a fast moving energy about it and can be used for these purposes and more. Red spells use the least amount of mana to cast.

Orange:
warmth
joy
hope
zest

Orange energy is quite similar to red but of a lesser quantity. Orange spells are often used to heat body temperature when one is cold, to slightly heat food or drink up much like a warming fire would, or to cause slight dizziness in one's foes, to disorient them for a moment. Orange spells use slightly more mana than red spells, but not much more.

Yellow:
concentration
happiness
clarity
brightness
focus
thought
ideas
concepts

Yellow is very much a color of the mind and is often used to increase one's concentration. If thoughts had a color they would be yellow. To use this color before any other castings would be most beneficial to the mage and is a great tool for improving focus and clarity in one's magic.

Green:
growth
life
plants
earth
nature
calm
healing
restoration
envy

Green is a nature color, often seen in the natural world and as such possesses many healing properties. It's ability to restore energy and vitality is not to be underestimated. In some rather unscrupulous cases, it could even be used to poison another, but Admar would advise other methods of application. The more green energy is used to heal a wound, the more mana consumed in its casting.

Blue:
peace
tranquility
daydream
night
reverie
coolness
water
refreshment
insight
relaxation

Blue is one of the cooler colors of the spectrum and as such it is a great help for calm and relaxation purposes. It can also be used to ensure a good night's sleep with peaceful dreams. The darker hues can be used for gaining certain insights in some areas.

Purple:
meditation
inner journeys
spirit
deep peace
revelations
power
clairvoyance

Purple energy is one of the higher colors and therefore uses up more mana than some of the others. Meditational journeys are a popular usage for this color. It is a color of the spirit and of deep insight, most often used for vision quests more than any other color.

White:
purification
protection
rejuvenation
light
cleansing
purity of the soul

White is yet another higher energy color to be used on a more sparing framework. It is most associated with light and goodness.

Black:
shadows
darkness
evil
mystery
the unknown
malice
occult
secrets
depression
sadness

This is a color that Admar himself does not utilize much because it is mostly good for darker purposes. However it can also be used for hiding in the shadows or pondering some deep, puzzling mystery not readily known to most.

Gray:
inconspicuousness
blending in
time
discreetness
nondescript
confusion
fog
illusion

This color is used mostly by Admar to maintain an aura of inconspicuousness in order to blend in. Sometimes useful to hide something of value from prying eyes or to catch a glimpse of various time streams.

Brown:
grounding
stability
safety
earth
ground
dirt
wood

A very grounding color, most often used before and after meditations of any sort. Brown is very heavily associated with dirt and soil and the earth in general.

Pink:
compassion
innocence
childlike
gentleness
meekness
the heart
mending emotional hurts
acceptance

As stated, pink is a very gentle color, a color of the heart, love and compassion. Useful for bringing  about peace and understanding in an environment where there was none before. An emotionally healing color.

Silver:
moon
mystery
dream states
magic
goddess
yin
intuition
astral projection

Silver is one of the other higher colors in the spectrum and uses up much mana to cast its spells. Its moon and dream associations make it one of the more mysterious colors.

Gold:
yang
god
courage
boldness
sun
higher mind
god-state
higher self
enlightenment
self-realization
past lives
wisdom
knowledge
higher states of being

This one is by far the most powerful and requires the most mana to cast gold spells. It is not often used unless absolutely needed as usually one of the other colors would suffice unless one really wants a higher understanding of events and why they happen. Past life recollection makes use of this color's energies.

The art of Color Invocation is one that takes many years to master fully. Even Admar, who is a master of such still has more to learn and it could be argued that there is no "true" ultimate mastery of this form of magic. There is always more to learn.

Focuses:
Focuses for this magic can include a glass prism or a mirror. In fact anything that can reflect light may be used to channel color energy. Although the focuses greatly help, they are merely that: a focus and nothing more. They are not innately magical in and of themselves except for the hardiness enchantment that is cast upon them to prevent breakage or damage of any kind. The magic can be cast without a focus but it generally is more difficult and the results do not last as long so having one is highly recommended.

Ending Notes:
The Order of Color Mastery is a secretive order whom practices the art of Color Invocation. This mage will not say where this base is located as that is not for him to reveal. Though the order be secretive, all within love to learn and share knowledge of all kinds and some do travel to achieve those ends, like Admar himself here. He cannot fully hope to make you understand his magic for it needs to be experienced in full not simply described in words. If at any time this account be confusing, that is understandable for the reason stated above. Admar can only hope this small written work can enlighten thee to a newer comprehension of such. It is a complex art, one in which new methods are always being discovered and implemented. For now, Admar doth close this entry and retire for bed as tomorrow is another day for learning.
