Naovi let out a small yelp when he came from nowhere and picked her up by her scruff, but she was too tired to snap at him--and knew there was little point, anyway. She was in his domain, as he had said, and as much as she hated it, she knew she was stuck. For now. She still had her wits, at least, so she could play his game a little while longer.
And she had her pearl, worn once more around her neck. As long as she had that, little else mattered.
She curled her lips at him, baring her sharp little teeth at his demand, but with an all-too-human roll of her eyes, she acquiesced. There was a quick flash of light, and then the little fox was gone--and in her place, Acheron held a human woman instead, shorter than him with brown skin splotched with patches of white. She was naked, and she was still snarling at him like the fox had been, her three tails twitching in irritation and bright eyes narrowed.
She grabbed at his hand, the grip on her neck flat out painful now. "Let go!" she hissed.
