Physical Description
A tall, lanky man with a strong face, squared off in shape to match the broadness of his shoulders. There's a clef in his chin, normally hidden beneath a goatee or rough beard, but at the beginning of his teaching seasons, he normally goes clean shaven to give a clean appearance. His eyes are a coal grey, set beneath heavy untamed brows. His hair is black as night, with strings of grew throughout it. To go along with his age are the creases beside his eyes and the ever present lines from his always 'thinking' face. One could saw his eyes may have been more vibrant, but have since been washed out from time.

He has long limbs, legs and arms and spindly long fingers that are perpetually stained from ink and calloused from years of work- both in books and in the field. He was always an architect, and his fingers always itch to create or write something.

His black hair is thick and curly, like the coils of his machines.

Personality
A restless soul with an insatiable thirst for knowledge. He's always talking, thinking, calculating over something- and is often times seen on his lonesome muttering to himself and leafing through papers and books and scratching down furiously all of his thoughts- Sometimes, it's noted, he's had full on conversations with himself...
and a book, or building, or aspect of his attention. He won't deny it.
"It comes with the job."

Since he's never 'at rest' it's hard for him to be 'at rest' and will never once be seen relaxed. He also has a sore spot for any thoughts towards romance, having had gone through a bad divorce himself- that of which he never wants to speak about, and might be the very reason the few nights he sets to drink (though rarely does he have the luxury to think back to his wife who left him, but when he does, he hate sit and treats it like a bad nightmare) and buries whatever feelings it brings forth with booze.

Magic/Abilities
Not magicaly inclined, but heavily gifted with brains- Dornsley is a man known throughout all of Connlaoth as a great inventor, professor and architect. The rein of Grand Duke Allarrick has afforded him many opportunities for him to flaunt his talents. Some of the most noteable are the New Church of Ansgar (located in Reajh), The Hall of Mirrors, and the new bridge he's currently working on to replace the fallen one at Matron's Hallow.

Some inventions he's been famous for are 'sharp sighted spectacles'- which are a series of glass lenses that interlock and change out over one another to help a person 'see things more closely that might be too small or too far away'.

His students know him for the great pile of essays they're forced to write when attending his classes.

Relationships
The former "Lady Woohl"- his ex wife

History
He grew up unlike any other minor noble, who may have been satisfied to go along with the blood owed grind. Dornsely, his parents knew, from early on was definitely different. Not unlike his father who was always perpetually out to impress (though in his own ways), some of that must've rubbed off on his son, for the moment he was able to figure things out,a nd to figure them out well; learning became an obsession for the young boy.

He was running circles around the other children, reading books well beyond his years and self teaching himself greater mathematics when he was only ten years of age. He used to make interesting and crude, small scale versions of known buildings of Connlaoth when his father had introduced his twelve year old son to a master architect in Uthlyn- and that was the last he saw of Dornsley.

The boy spent most of his time living and studying at the college, getting degrees in mathematics, architecture, biology, medicine, law- to name a few. When he was sixteen he met a woman whom he married only a month after having met her- knowing full well, beyond a doubt, and through careful calculations, that she was the perfect woman for him.

But his calculations turned out to be wrong. And after being married to the man for ten years, he was divorced and left bitter for the next ten. The only woman he never took were the occasional whores, or the regrettable one night stands. They were always those few times he was weak and took to drink. No other relationship lasted as long as that. None ever will.

He was an established architect well beyond his years, and had done his military duty when it was expected. He wasn't the best soldier, nor the worst, but rose in the ranks as was practical of him. However, an injury sustained kept him from returning, which messed up his right leg.

It upset him greatly that no one could help fix him or help him 'walk' better. One night, he up and cut his own leg open and tried to 'fix himself'-
He must have been going througha mid life crisis. He could have died- ANd from it, his wife had left him.

But his leg was fixed..
To some degree. His leg now bears the ugliest of scars running and along the sides of it, and braces of metal are wedged and interlocked around it, fixing the broken bones and forcing him to stand straight, until he twists the valves that allow for his broken knee to bend. His leg is more or less useless without the use of his mechanical brace. It was at least a beautiful design for how cumbersome the metal was, but he does not let that deter him from getting around, and he uses a cane to ensure he doesn't fall over, as to compensate for the weight of the leg brace, he's become a bit unsteady as he walks.

Because he walks with a cane, some mock him as being 'the young old man'- which has become a saying like a thorn in his side, especially now, as he is aging and knows he's not getting any younger.
