Elector Count of WAAAGH!

"Back ya over grown lizards! Back!" Echos of angry yelling followed by the snapping jaws  eminated through the Draconi forest.

It was Josef Grinsbeard, sitting on a tree branch, shooting crossbow bolts down below. He was aiming at reptilian looking things, seemed like some sorts of wingless dragons.

Josef was having such a nice day too, until these buggers chased him up a tree. Quite undwarfish behavior, but there was so many of them that he had no choice but scale the tree.

Still, nothing a dwarf like Grinsbeard can't handle, all he had to do was sit here with his crossbow and picked them off one by one...

Odrin breathed in the fresh air of the forest as he walked along one of the nameless paths that cut it's way through the forest. A quiet song of prayer could be heard coming softly from the dwarf's lips as he joyfully made his way in an unknown direction. Have no real destination in mind Odrin figured his goddess would lead him in whatever direction he was needed.

"Truly it is a glorious day to be within your service Hosprina."  said Odrin as he cut his way through the trees.

A loud shout stopped the dwarven priest in his tracks and his hand instinctively shot down towards his trusty warhammer.

"Now what in the blazes could that be."  Odrin said as he tried to listen again for the shouting. A death cry from some manner of beast allowed Odrin to more properly discern the direction of what sounded to be some manner of a scuffle.

Crouching low and having unslung his hammer Odrin moved as stealthily as a dwarf in full chainmail could through the underbrush.

Moving closer and closer to the sounds Odrin first saw the large reptilians trying to either climb a tree or roll around on the ground as the hissed and screeched. His eyes traveling up the tree Odrin saw the strange beasts "prey".

"A dwarf in a tree, not something you generally see every day." mumbled Odrin as he tried to assess how best he could help. Knowing he couldn't charge straight into the fight without getting himself eaten. Moving as close as he could Odrin began whispering a prayer to his goddess to ask for her help. Honestly he didn't truly want to hurt the creatures if it could be avoided, they were only trying to feed themselves, even if it was the unfortunate dwarf in the tree that was on their menu.

Crouching low and tightening the grip on his hammer Odrin sprung from the bushes as he finished the prayer to his goddess. Several bright white orbs no bigger than an apple appeared above the lizards and dropped down amongst them, as soon as they touched the ground a blinding flash was set off along with a thunderous clap. Odrin hoped this would be enough to startle the beasts as he charged forward towards them.

Such a loud noise startled all near the tree, the beasts below backed off from the source as they're eyes blinking as they went temporarily blind.

Josef meanwhile almost fell off the tree branch, not that he wasent used to thunder it was he wasent expecting it right now. The light didn't help, as Josef fought to keep his balance, he yelled "By the beard of Grminir! What was that!?"

Odrin came blowing out of the bushes at a full charge. He had hoped the orbs would have frightened the creatures away. Unfortunately that was not the case. Raising his shield, he hoped it would protect him again as it had done countless times before. When he had first received the shield it's surface was glossy and new, now it was duller and dented in spots. Odrin was proud of the was his shield looked, he felt the marks on it were earned in the service of his goddess and each mark was an indication of his triumph over the evil.

"Hospina protect me and forgive me."  Odrin said as he crashed into the first creature. A sharp kick to the ribs of the beast brought a sickening crunch. Swinging his hammer overhead he brought the blunt end of the weapon down crashing onto the top of the creatures head. Knowing he only had moments before the creatures came to their senses. Turning he swung his hammer into the front leg of the nearest beast and broke it. Backing up to the tree the other dwarf was in Odrin looked at the remaining creatures as they finally shook of the effects of his spell.

"if you have any tricks up your sleeves now's the time to use them." Odrin said to the dwarf above him as the creatures began eyeing him. Whispering another prayer to his goddess Odrin felt his armor become lighter as he prepared for the inevitable attack.

"Ya think if I had any, I wouldn't be up 'ere in the first place!" The dwarf yelled as he shot another crossbow bolt, it pierced the skin of one of the creatures, but seemed to wound but not kill the creature.

"Hang on there for a second, I've gotta idea." The dwarf yelled as he fumble for somthing in his bag. He was beginning to put somthing together, but it was hard to tell what it was from down below, as the creatures once again began circling the trees...

Odrin dared not take his eyes of the remaining lizards circling him. It was hard to keep his eyes on all of them at the same time. Their tongues flickered as if they were trying to taste the fear coming from the dwarven cleric.

How many are left Ordrin wondered to himself. They seemed organized enough to know better than to attack him from the front. Which meant they likely we're going to try and attack him from behind.

Listening intently he tried to hear behind him as best he could. The dwarf above and the snarls seemed to be deafening though. A twig snap behind him and leaves rustling told Odrin everything he needed to know though.

Swinging his shield arm around to the left, the stout dwarf braced himself as the creature crashed into him. Odrin thanked his goddess right before he swung his hammer and was rewarded with a resounding crunch of bones. A sudden weight on his back knocked the dwarf over. Claws dug into his chainmail.

A loud hiss in his ear told Odrin he was seconds away from certain death. With a roar the dwarf threw his shoulder and rolled over so he was facing up. He was faced with a mouth full of teeth descending on his face. Thinking quickly the dwarf raised his arm as the mouth clamped around it. Pain shot through his arm as Odrin reached into his boot and grabbed the knife out of it. Swinging it as hard as he could he jammed the blase into the side of the creature's head.

Rolling out from underneath the dead beast Odrin got up on his feet and lifted his shield as he waited for the next attack despite the pain throbbing in the arm that held his hammer.

"Heads down!" Came the thunderous yelling of the dwarf from above, followed by a "Bomb's away." Before the dwarf threw somthing.

It landed behind the dwarf cleric with a *boom*, followed by yelping and more snapping of the jaws.

Secounds later there was rustling coming from the tree, as if somthing was sliding down the tree.

"Look out below!" A dwarveish sounding voice once again boomed, as the same dwarf stuck on the tree was now slidding down it rapidly. In his hands was a shield, and once he was near the bottom, he pushed himself off of the tree using his stunty but mighty feet. He was aiming himself directly at one of the scaly dragon like creatures behind the cleric. Hitting his mark, the dwarf slammed his shield downwards into the skull of the dragon like creature, causing the roar in pain and recoil.

But the beast didn't have time to swipe the dwarf away, as the dwarf jumped off quickly, reaching now for the double headed axe to his side as his back was now to the cleric's.

"Not my best plan every, but I thought I'd give you a hand laddy." The dwarf said, his body still turned to face the face of his scaley assilants.
