For most humans, a trek across the deserts of Essyrn would be a taxing journey, ripe with trials and hardship, and prefaced by a mountain of planning and preparation. The blistering heat of the desert sun would bake any normal soldier alive, and the freezing touch of night gave no solace to any mortal being. Aven, however, was far from human, his shadow speeding across the moonlit sand as though it were chariot racing. As formidable as the desert was, it's perils were nothing to Aven; but not because the brightness of the sun did not burn straight through his shadow melding, nor the exhaustion of travel gnaw away at his body. No, none of these reasons: rather, the heat of the desert was barely a candle next to the inferno of anger raging within Aven's chest.

Hakon had been kidnapped.

It was his fault, he'd no idea she was being targeted so fervently. It wasn't something they'd publically shared, but she was pregnant, and the toils of such had been taking their toll for some time. He could only assume they'd caught her off guard in her weakened state. As to a culprit, he hadn't the slightest clue, save the fact that the ring Hakon bore was leading Aven straight to her, and the location was not favorable.

Eastern, where slavery thrives, and barbarism takes an entirely new form. He hoped that he was wrong, but it was possible that she'd be made to fight, and even with her immense skill, there was only so long her body could hold out, nog to mention the safety of the children. I'm coming, Haki! Just hold on!
