Today was a rather nice day in the outer areas of Ketra. It was lightly overcast so there was no glare from the sun but it wasn't depressingly dark. Cato was enjoying himself in his little office by taking a nap and letting himself relax from having to deal with stressful clientele. He hoped the if anyone came into his office today that they wouldn't cause him any more stress. Suddenly there's a small jingle from the door. Speak of the devil. An older woman walks into Cato's office and walks over to a desk. Cato wakes up when he hears the bells and he looks over at the woman. She was a smaller woman with slightly graying hair wearing faded pink clothing. She walks over to the desk and sits herself down while Cato is wondering what he's going to ask of him. "Cato, is it? I need your help with something." Cato nods and he keeps wondering what she want shim to do. "I need your help with my roof. It's falling apart and I can't fix it on my own. I can offer you twenty gold for your services."

Twenty gold should be enough to tide Cato over until his next job, though he hopes that will actually be true. He gives the lady a small smile as he dusts himself off. "Alright, this shouldn't be too hard. Lead the way." The lady nods and starts leading Cato to her home. it was one of the thin homes that were compacted side to side in order to try to save space. The roof was a bit high up but that wasn't really anything Cato had to worry about. They lady takes him inside of her home so that she can give him what he needs to work. The home is a little bit cozy and the lady quickly takes Cato to the attic. Immediately Cato sees the problem. There's a large hole in the roof. Cato isn't sure why she didn't just hire a regular carpenter but she must not have had the gold for that she he just rolls with it. Luckily it didn't look like it would rain anytime soon. Over in the corner of the attic there were some supplies that the lady had gotten for the roof. Once everything was accounted for she went down stairs and Cato goes to work. He levitates himself and the supplies through the gaping hole and he gets to work, trying to use the existing roof as a reference for what to do next. He's clearly visible to people walking in the street. To those with magic his levitation would seem inexplicable since he doesn't seem to be using magic. And those who use psychic energy would be able to feel a lot of energy just pouring from Cato's body.

Ketra. Despite the lack of gold in his pocket, his less-than-savoury smell and circles under his eyes he loved this part of his life. The amount he got to see. Although, he needed a bath... Nodding to a patrol of city guards with a smile, he made his way to what he thought was a bath house. When he entered he realised he was right. The mix of aromas hit him and he smiles again. He paid the clerk; most of the gold he still had in his pouch; and entered. He found a private bathroom, the communal areas were not for him. He must have spent a good hour soaking in the piping hot water. The blend of flowers and oils in the water soaked into his skin. When he got out he felt very refreshed, and his robes had been washed as part of the deal. Once outside, the cool air was refreshing on his face, he made his way into the main town. Maybe someone had a job for him, he always found large concentrations of people meant work.

As he made his way through the city, something made his head turn. A very clear pulse of energy. He narrowed his eyes, a young man seemed to be floating, when he moved a little closer, the reason became clear. A hole was in the roof of a house, and the young man seemed to be fixing it. He could hardly believe the amount of energy he was giving off. The exact nature of which he couldn't discern, or see but it was definitely there. If he was doing a job, perhaps he could help Eiden get some work too. After all he was pretty cleaned out and some coin for a carriage back home wouldn't go amiss. He made his way over to the levitating man, the energy seemed to wash over him, it positively buzzing from him. He raised a hand to block the sun, and called out.  "Hello, friend! I find myself in need of coin, I don't suppose you need any help, or know where I can go to get so-" His sentence was interrupted by a scream. It wasn't too far away, he turned on his heel and made his way to the source. If someone was in trouble, he would of course help. If the man wanted to join him, that was up to him.

Cato never really learned the value of discrepancy, so he usually just let his power leak from his body on mass. Its never really bothered him since everyone who has magic or psychic powers had an aura of some kind so him having his own aura doesn't seem strange to him. Even if he has noticed that it's much larger than most other people's auras. As he's working Cato feels a new magical aura within his senses, but he doesn't pay it any mind since new people will sometimes come around and trigger that feeling, so it usually isn't anything worth paying much mind to. When he feels the new person coming towards him he wonders who that could be for a moment, before he goes back to trying to repair the old woman's roof. He's doing a decent job of it for someone with nor formal training, but he's sure that its not that good. When the source of the new aura starts talking to Cato, he pauses fixing the roof as he turns to look at it. He sees the stranger and silently listens to what he's saying. However when he suddenly hears the scream, Cato sets the stuff down and quickly starts flying towards where he thinks the sound came from. He doesn't want anyone to get hurt so he does his best to hurry over to the source of the sound.

When the two of them arrive at the alleyway there's seemingly nothing there. Cato is confused since he could have sworn he heard someone scream from here. However after a quick bit of searching Cato sees a torn piece of cloth next to a slightly open manhole cover. He wonders why the cover is open like that. He notices that the stranger from before is in the alley as well and wonders if he also tried to help. "Hey, I think whatever happened here, it might have been taken into the sewer." He hopes that the other person will be willing to help him figure out what's going on.

NotSarcastic

He wondered if he ever thought about suppressing his aura. Eiden suppressed his own. If the wrong person could sense him too easily it may well put him in danger. Did he now just how much was pouring out of him? As they stand near the manhole cover, Eiden wrinkled his nose at the odour wafting upward. His eyes darted toward the piece of cloth. He couldn't help but sigh when he spoke, "The sewer?" He stifled a groan. He was still fresh from his bath, his clothes were immaculately washed and now they were about to be soiled in the filth in the sewers. "yes okay" he waved a hand over himself, a light purple glow encased his booths and robes. Just a think field of magic to deter to muck below. Hopefully it worked. With that he looked at the ladder and was about to use it, when he noticed that seemed to be coated in a thick layer of filth. He shook his head and clicked his fingers. His Blink spell teleported him a short distance down into the sewer, made obvious by the sound of a splash. He tied a scented cloth from he "acquired" from the bath house around the lower part of his face and looked up the manhole toward the man. "Let's go!"

He then made his way forward. Another piece of similar looking cloth on the floor suggested whoever was in trouble had gone this way. As he trudged through the light dimmed and he waved his hand to make a small orb of violet light float just in front of him. Without warning an arrow whistled past his head. A high pitched cackle followed by splashed ahead of him. He frowned and moved forward more fervently, his hands ready to cast.

Trenzalor

Cato's never really experienced people hunting him down so he doesn't really have any reason to suppress his aura. He doesn't seem to know how much psychic energy is pouring out of his body. It's practically being pushed out of his body by the shear volume that his body is containing. He probably doesn't even know how to do that. Cato raises his eyebrow when he sees the stranger being hung up on the fact that if they want to help the person they're going to have to go into the sewer. "Evidently yes. I'm going in. Don't come if you don't want to." Cato fully takes the manhole cover off of the sewer entrance and he waves his hand to try to dispel the smell. He covers himself in a psychic barrier to keep himself from getting sick. When he puts up the barrier the energy covers him like a sheath. Cato is about to lower himself into the sewer when the stranger teleports down there. Cato is intrigued by this as he lowers himself down the hole to meet up with the stranger again. Cato uses his telekinesis to split the gunk around the two of them so that is will curve around them so that they don't have to wade through the gunk. Cato coughs a little bit from the smell but he gets over it pretty quickly.

As the two of them are walking along, Cato is curious about the stranger. He wonders who this person is. "Hello. I'm Cato. What's your name?" Cato sees the cloth and he hopes that they won't be too late to save whoever got kidnapped and brought down here. When the stranger makes a ball of light, Cato looks at it for a few moments before he looks at his own hand he focuses some psychic energy into the air above his palm and makes a very similar ball of light for a moment before dispelling it. When the arrow is shot at them Cato grabs it with his telekinesis and turns it around to fire it back at whoever shot it. Cato wonders who would be shooting arrows at them. His hair blows in an invisible wind as he starts gathering energy in preparation for a fight.

NotSarcastic

He nods to the stranger. "Thanks" he says as the muck is parted in front of him. "Eiden" he replies. "I have to say I'm glad I'm not down here on my own." It was true, despite himself. He had found Cato's sarcastic response earlier a little off-putting but there were more important things to worry about. He heard a grunt as the arrow was fired back at it's originator. He quickly made another ball of light and sent it forward to reveal a goblin slumped against the sewer wall. He was still alive, but his arrow was buried in his side. Eiden had dealt with goblins before and he had to admit they were probably the ugliest creatures he had come across. Narrow, eyes, vertical pupils, long pointed ears and noses. The tallest a goblin got was just over 5ft, this one seemed on the smaller side.

Eiden approached. He seemed on his own but he couldn't be sure and made sure to keep looking around. He put a little more energy into his balls of light to extend how far he could see. Nothing. Perhaps this one was some sort of scout or got left behind. Either way, Eiden intended to find out who they had taken, where and why. He knelt in front of the goblin. "That wound looks pretty bad" He nodded to the arrow. "If you tell us who you took and where, we can try to help you." He winced as he looked at the wound again, it was bleeding pretty heavily now. "Or at least make your passing less painful". He cringed at his own words. This was never something he imagined himself saying, but if it would help them find whoever had been taken he'd do it. At least he wasn't torturing the goblin, that was a step too far "Bugger off!" He goblin squawked, then shut his eyes in pain. "No business of yours who we takes. Best you get out of here before my friends find you". Eiden turned to Cato, and gave him a look as if to say "Any ideas?" Time was of the essence and this goblin didn't have long left, but it didn't seem like he was going to sell his friends out either. Rather honourable, Eiden had to admit, at least for a goblin.

Trenzalor

Cato smiles when the stranger says thanks to him. The smile disrupts his regular face and he actually looks a little bit happy. "It's nice to meet you Eiden. I hope we'll be able to get to the bottom of this." Once the two of them are done talking Cato turns his face back down the tunnel. His face rests again and he looks like he's ready to hurt someone. The resting bitch face is strong with this one. Cato hopes that they won't be to late to help whoever it is that was taken down here. Cato is surprised when the arrow he shot back lands in someone. He wasn't expecting that to actually hit true. When Cato sees the goblin he wonders what a goblin is doing down hear. Shouldn't the guard notice something like this? Cato doesn't dwell on the thought too much as he follows Eiden over to the goblin wondering what he's going to do to it.

Cato covers his eyes a little bit when Eiden makes the orbs brighter for a little bit. Cato also looks around and doesn't see anything. This is getting stranger and stranger by the second. Cato keeps his guard up just in case the commotion they made attracts other goblins. He keeps watching the tunnels while Eiden is interrogating the goblin. Personally Cato would prefer to just go straight through and try and rescue the victim right away, but he has no idea where the victim is or the lay out of the sewer system, so he wouldn't have any idea where to even start. He hopes that Eiden will be able to get the information they need from the goblin. When the goblin refuses to tell Eiden who they took and where they took them, Cato sighs in annoyance and keeps an eye out for the goblins "friends." Cato turns to look at Eiden when he asks if Cato has any ideas "I might have one, but you'll need to look over my body while I do it." Cato walks over to the goblin and sits down next to it. He transfers a little bit of energy into the goblin to keep it from dying while he does what he intends to do. Cato takes a deep breath and then slumps over. If Eiden can see spirits, he''d be able to see a dark spirit exit Cato's limp body and enter into the Goblin's body.

Once Cato is inside of the Goblin's mind he starts to look around. He knows that he has to act quickly otherwise he won't get the information he needs before the goblin bleeds out. Cato starts looking through the goblin's mindscape as quickly as he can, trying to find where the information they need to find the victim is.

NotSarcastic

He frowned a little when Cato's body went limp. What exactly just happened? He was curious about this man's abilities. He's heard of soul magic, shamanism maybe it was something like that? He couldn't ponder the thoughts for mucher. When he heard cackles and splashes a bit further down the tunnel. He sent one of the balls of light forward. Sure enough a small group of goblins were running toward him. Holding cruel, jagged blades and axes. They were probably looking for their friend. He hadn't come back and now they knew why.

He threw up a shield of magical energy and an arrow bounced off. There would be more where this came from and he shot a nervous look toward the lifeless form of Cato. They were getting nearer time to act. He fired a bolt of arcane energy forward. The goblin raised a wooden shield but it but it exploded on impact in a flash of purple. The goblin was thrown backward, causing several others to fall over. He followed it up with a long spike of purple energy and cast that forward too. It impaled the heads of two of the goblin's who convulsed slightly and lay still. More arrows made their way toward him. With a wave of his hand they disintegrated.

They were getting closer and Martin needed help. He sent two more bolts forward. Two goblins fell. He needed to take out more at once. He brought his hands together, then apart. A long tendril of purple energy formed, he cracked it forward like a whip, It cut through the goblins. Well. three of their heads thudded on the floor, the remaining goblin looked at his fallen comrades and ran the other way. He would be back soon for more. Now would be a really good time for Cato to wake up.

Cato continued to travel around the goblin's alien mindscape. Hills made of grog and rivers of his mother's hugs passed by as Cato explored the ever changing expression of the goblin's mind.Cato frowned as he watched all of the wonder around him continue to fade as the goblin lost more a more blood. Cato snaps himself out of it for a moment and starts moving through the uncanny valley towards the memory of the goblin, hoping that the goblin will have enough information to work with. However standing at the guard of the goblin's deeper mind is a larger towering figure. Cato can't quit make out what's standing before him, but with every faded aspect the figure loses color. Cato waves his arm and the hollow shell of the creature is dispersed. Cato continues his journey though the goblin's fading mind, passing ego and id by with barely a glance.

Eventually Cato makes it to the goblin's memories. He enters a sewer very similar to the one that Cato and Eiden are in in the real world. Cato places a hand on the wall. Each brick lights up as the sewer of memories plays out before him. Cato starts pushing his own energy into the walls o the sewer, searching for the layout of the sewers, where they might have taken the kidnapped victim, and why they did it. Even if the goblin doesn't know all of those things, Cato grabs what he can and rips those bricks out of the walls of the sewer. They rapidly travel along its length and fly into Cato, being absorbed upon contact, Once Cato has the information he needs, everything vanishes. All that's left is a white void, Cato, and a single goblin. Cato walks over to the goblin and kneels down next to it as he sees its form fading to ash around the area it got hit with the arrow. "Sorry. This will help." Cato makes the goblin's pain center stop functioning, so at least he won't suffer.

Just as the last goblin is running away there's a spike in energy and Cato quickly sits up from his slouch position. He looks around the real world sewer to try and get his bearings as well as to try and see if anything bad is going down. When he sees a bunch of dead goblins he frowns a bit and turns away to look at Eiden. "I was able to find what I was looking for. How things going out here?"

NotSarcastic

A lance of magical energy impaled another goblin. At last Cato was finally stirring. He better have something useful, he thought. He gestured to the  groups of goblins now running toward them both. "How do you think?" He couldn't help but keep a note of sharpness out of his tone. He had no idea what Cato had just done or how long it should have taken. But they could have probably found the rest of the goblins by now. This would save time and potentially a life but Martin would soon be overwhelmed.

A goblin slashed at him with a jagged blade Martin threw up a hand coated in a ward to block the blade. With his other hand he grabbed the goblin by the end and filled him with destructive arcane energy. Purple light shone out of his eyes, nose and ears. His skin blackened and he fell in a pile of ash. He followed up with a concussive wave. The groups were getting larger and he needed to create some space. Now would be a really great time to get an assist from Cato he thought. His thoughts were only reinforced when he felt a sharp pain in his rib. He looked down, his robed had been ripped; an arrow had grazed his side. The wound was shallow but it hurt.

Trenzalor

Cato looks at the Goblins that are running towards them and he's a bit shocked at how many there are down her. Whatever's going on here, he an Eiden will either have to stop it or tell the authorities. Otherwise there might be a lot more people might get kidnapped or worse. Cato stands up and tries to see how many goblins are trying to attack them. "Maybe not so well. Alright, let's see if we can fix this." Suddenly the power leaking out of Cato's body increases by quite a bit. His hair blows back as if moved by an invisible wind and a thin dark purple aura surrounds him as his aura condenses a bit. Suddenly a wall of psychic energy the goes from one side of the sewer to the other is erected between the goblins and the two of them. The wall starts rapidly pushing the goblins away from them. Once the wall hits an intersection it suddenly stops, flinging all of the goblins that were being pushed by in into the wall of the sewer with several loud thuds and a couple snaps as some goblins would probably hit other goblins instead of just the wall. After that the wall just stops so that the goblins can get to the two of them, at least from that side. Cato them turns to look at Eiden. Cato gives him a small bit of his energy to replenish some of Eiden's supply and to excite his cells to help him heal from the arrow wound to the side. "I was able to get a map of the sewers from the goblin. Are you doing well?"

NotSarcastic

He gave Cato a bit of a sarcastic nod as he so helpfully noted that Eiden wasn't doing so well. He couldn't help but be impressed by his use of magic. Eiden could have probably done the same thing with his arcane energy. He keeps a mental note of that. He felt a strange warmth from Cato, and looked at the wound in his side. It has already scabbed over and felt as though it had been there for a few days. Whatever he had done had helped him, he suddenly felt guilty for his sharpness with him. He has far greater abilities than he had initially anticipated. "Much better now, thanks" he says, somewhat meekly. But they couldn't dawdle. Eiden felt like he just hadn;t been in a lengthy fight with a horde of goblins, he could keep casting as thought he'd never used any mana in the first place. This man was a truly useful ally. Perhaps they could help each other on other adventures. Eiden wonders for a moment. "Did the goblin have anything useful?"

Trenzalor

Cato doesn't really notice the sarcasm in Eiden's nod because he's too focused on trying to solve the situation at hand. Cato doesn't seem to mark his actions as any kind of feat of magic or psychic energy. He's just doing it because he needs to do it in order to protect the person he's working with. He takes a very calculated approach to his powers and the situation at hand. However not knowing things like where other goblins are or what Eidon can do are frustrating him because he doesn't know how much either of them is doing. However Cato puts those thoughts aside as his shield feat is completed. while Cato is giving Eiden a little bit of magic he starts sorting through the goblin's memories of the sewers and how their base is laid out through the sewer system. Cato smiles a little bit when Eiden thanks him for his help. "You're welcome. We better start moving. Odds are those goblins will find a way around my barrier eventually." Cato helps Eiden get moving as he tries to get him to start moving towards the main goblin camp. He hopes that they won't be too late to help the people who were taken by the goblins. When Eiden asks about what he got from the goblin Cato nods. "I don't know why they're taking people since that part was gone when I arrived, but I managed to get a mental map of the sewers and I know where in their camp they're keeping the people they kidnap. Their camp is this way." Cato points generally in the direction that he's walking. "It's a little ways away from here those, so we might run into move scouting groups on the way. Also, one of the mental guards wasn't a goblin, so we may need to be on guard for something that isn't a goblin."

NotSarcastic

He nods as Cato suggest they get moving. As much as they could probably take care of these goblins, there was someone in trouble. He moves with Cato, he assumed he knew where they were. He had to consider that he would have struggled a lot more to find who was in trouble without Cato. Most likely wandering around until he stumbled across them. By that time it could have been too late. "I see, what else could be down here?" He'd heard stories of goblins using trolls, ogres sometimes orcs. Goblins were mostly fodder but he wouldn't be surprised if they came across a tougher opponent. As they continued Eiden noticed a stir up ahead. They were clearly going in the right direction and they were expected for certain. Sure enough a scouting group rounded the corner. These goblins were larger than the last. The way they held their weapons suggested they actually knew what they were doing with them. He gave a slight look to Cato. This would be a tougher fight. Snarls could be heard behind them too. The goblins from before had found a way around the barrier. They were about to be closed in from both sides.

Trenzalor

Cato is glad that the two of them are able to agree to move. He just hopes that it won't be too late for the kidnapped person. It's so strange to Cato to think that there could be a bunch if goblins just living in the sewers and no one either notices or talks about it. Cato did know where to go, but there were still a little ways away from the place where they held the victim. They may have to go through a few more patrols. There are a surprising number of goblins in this place. There was at least one larger chamber between them and the cells, so they might run into something there, Cato isn't sure what they are getting themselves into. "I'm not sure. It was big and vaguely humanoid, but that doesn't really give me much. All I saw was its silhouette." When Eiden notices something stirring up ahead, Cato notices it as well. He was expecting to run into more goblins but definitely not this soon. And the fact that they look like they know how to fight doesn't really help matters much. When Cato hears the goblins behind them as well he hopes that they will be able to get out of this without getting injured. Cato turns to Eiden as he starts to glow again, getting ready for the up coming fight. "I'll take the bigger ones if that's alright." Cato takes a step towards the larger goblins and starts getting ready for a fight, staring them down.

NotSarcastic

He raised an eyebrow I think I'm probably capable of taking on them. But hey. He turned to the smaller goblins. Not many were left after the initial assault and they didn't pose much of a challenge. He raised his hand to fill one their heads with arcane energy, which immediately exploded. His other and sweeps through the air and slices through three at once with a condensed wave of magic. The remaining two, eyes wide decide today is not their day to die for their people and turn to try and run away. They'd only cause more havoc, Eiden thinks and picked each one off with a small spike of energy through the back of the head. He turned to Cato. The sound of fighting was rather loud but he seemed to be doing well enough. He approached, hands ready for casting.

Trenzalor

Cato stares down the larger goblins as his energies begin to build again. he sighs as he looks at them, hoping that he would only have to take as few lives as possible, but that doesn't look to be how it is shaping up. As the goblins charge towards Cato he stands stock still as they get closer and closer to him. The all of a sudden they just stop moving. Confusion evident on their faces as they can't even budge a finger. Then all of a sudden all of the large goblins go flying into the walls of the sewers, repeatedly and rapidly slamming from wall to wall, each with heavy thuds that sometimes even leave cracks in the stonework. Occasionally they even slam into each other as they're being flung through the tunnel. With each impact the goblins are left with more broken bones and bruises than before They all stop and fall to the ground. What's left of them are bunches of highly bruised bags full of goblin bone dust, leaving them pretty thoroughly dead. When Cato turns around and sees what Eiden's done he sighs internally. "Alright, let's keep moving." Cato turns around and continues to walk along the path towards the holding area.

NotSarcastic

Eiden can't help but be impressed. It would take Eiden quite a bit of energy to cast a spell like that. But for Cato this seemed almost effortless. This type of power was only common in more advanced mages or beings born of magic. Like a faerie, spirit. Maybe even a deity. But that couldn't be right. Point was magic seemed to come very naturally, like breathing than it did for Eiden who found it intuitive, but not like this. This was different. They moved on. He just followed Cato, he knew where they were going. Eventually the rabble and squawking of goblins could be heard not too far away. There was a right turn not far up ahead with light shining through, and the cries of a child accompanied by manic laughter. Two figures stood by the door. More goblins, larger ones like before. They snarled as they saw the pair approach. One raised a jagged blade and Eiden clicked his fingers, the blade glowed purple as it became coated in arcane energy, allowing Eiden to manipulate it. He whipped his hand from right to left and the blade flew out of the globin's grasp and across his throat. He crumpled. The other leapt toward him but Eiden was too quick and a burst of magic slammed into the goblin. He flew against a wall where his brains dashed out against it. The noises up ahead quietened. They turned the corner. Before them the boy was tied to a metal frame. Each of the goblins took turns approaching him, jeering and mocking him. He didn't want to think about what they'd do to him if they left it any longer to rescue him. He looked at Cato then around the room once more. Not only goblins, but a few orcs too and even a lumbering troll. They each brandished a variety of weapons; crossbows, bows, daggers, swords, axes, maces, warhammers. Some weapons glistened with poison, others on fire. This was going to be interesting.

Trenzalor

Cato doesn't really see what he did as impressive. It's just using telekinesis to pinball the goblins against the walls, an each other. Basically just rapidly slamming them about almost randomly. Cato doesn't seem to have any idea that what he just did to those goblins was in any way of note. If Eiden wanted to know about any of that, he'd have to ask Cato about it. As it stands though, Cato is just continuing to walk through the sewers as if nothing happened. Though there is something strange about what he did. While he's using an energy of some kind, it's not quite magic. It doesn't feel quite the same. He seems to have some control over magic, but it's not his primary power source. As the two of them go deeper into the sewers, there's a strange feeling of wrongness the deeper they go. As if there's something just off about the deeper areas of the sewers. When Cato hears the sounds of the goblins and what not in the distance her start preparing for a fight. He makes a barrier around himself in preparation for the battle. However when he hears the cries of a child he picks up the pace a lot, running as fast as he can to try and save the child. As he runs there's a feint feeling of anger coming off of Cato. It feels like his aura itself in angry as it roils inside of him. Cato watches Eiden take out the two goblin door guards, but he doesn't pay it much mind when it's done because he just wants to try and save the child. When he sees what's going on, Cato is frozen in shock. He can't believe that the goblins and what not would do this to a child. Kidnapping him only to to torture him. Cato's fists clench as the rage continues to rise until it boils over. Suddenly' Cato's aura suddenly expands to several times its normal size. And it's not happy. The energy rages and writhes within Cato's body, aching for escape. The aura is filled with malevolent energy. It radiates with animosity towards the goblins. This aura is much more powerful than before. "Hmm. It's not often I feel that angry about anything." His voice is superficially calm, but there's a hidden layer of rage thinly veiled beneath that. A couple fist sized balls of energy suddenly generate around Cato. To someone who's not versed in magic, they may not look like much, but in reality they're whirling balls of hyper condensed energy. The balls fly towards the goblin crowd, rapidly impacting. When they make contact with the ground or their targets, the balls rapidly expand to about the size of a minivan, disintegrating whatever is caught inside of their radii.

NotSarcastic

It wasn't the magic itself that impressed him, it was the ease at which he could call upon his abilities. He still thought this was no ordinary mage. He was curious but now was not the time for questions. Eiden followed suit and formed a barrier around himself too. He raised an eyebrow in the slight change of Cato's aura. While what was going on was depraved, they needed to remain calm. They were vastly outnumbered and these goblins seemed more fearsome than the ones before. Not only that there was a child that they needed to be aware of and not become collateral damage. While Eiden's aura too changed, it was subtle. Bubbling just beneath the surface. There was no ache for release like Cato's but a certainty of causing damage and death to the wrong doers. If he was pushed further then it most certainly would erupt. Eiden noted the magic Cato was using, he had used similar spells before himself. Opting for a different approach, and something; he thought; he would have more control over and put the child at less risk. He flung rotation disks of arcane energy into the room where they would decapitate any goblin unlucky enough to be in its path. While Eiden did have control over where they flew he allowed them to mostly act independently. Anything that wasn't human was fair game. Around 6 discs were flying about the space. The troll lumbered toward him, Eiden flicked his fingers toward him and the discs converged, severing his weapon arm, hamstring and his throat in a blur of purple. He groaned as he fell flat on his face. Eventually the room was cleared. They had obviously caused a disturbance elsewhere, heavy footsteps could be heard beyond the space. The ogres and larger orcs which arrived made Eiden wince a little. This was going to be a harder fight. Evidenced all too much when one of his discs flew toward an ogre who batted it lazily aside with his huge club. Another disc freed the boy of his chains, he wasn't safe yet and both of them would be needed for this fight. Eiden touched a finger to the child's temple, he fell into a sleep, he didn't need to see any more bloodshed. He was in shock, it was kind to let him rest after what he'd been through. He hoped Cato would cover him as he raised a shield around the child. He'd have to put some time into this for it to hold and be strong enough to protect him from any attacks.
