Mariren Klast was better known to anyone she met as Whirlwind. Mostly because only a few people actually knew her real name. One, she had determined, was a traitor to his blood. He had been tainted by the water in their blood and gone to the other side. Water and air were not meant to mix, like fire and water and earth and air. But it had happened when their parents met and now their children paid for it. How stupid her father had been to fall for that Kleshnar. Water elementals were never good for anything. They were weak and pretended to be peaceful until they stabbed you in the back. That was the only way they ever got around in the world.
Whirlwind's light yellow eyes gazed at the village in front of her and briefly took a glove off of her right hand. After a moment of looking at that horrible pearl in her hand and noting it wasn't even glowing a bit, she shoved the glove back on and glared into the marketplace of the village. Right now she was wearing what everyone called her travel clothes. They were not her usual. They were flowing and loose and not at all like what she usually found herself in. Still, and wouldn't do to see the looks she usually got. No, first she needed information. Leads would be helpful. She was on a hunt. Not simply for her brother, but for any of the Kleshnar or Kleshme of her species.
Of course, that her species was slightly different didn't stop her from prosecuting the elementals that didn't descend from the original Klesh. No, anything born of water or earth was most likely evil and should be destroyed before it could kill. Mari took another look around and finally smiled. There it was. A tavern was always the best place for information. She entered and headed toward the bartender, keeping a close eye on her surroundings. Her enemies could be anywhere.
