OOC: this is merely an introduction for these guys, they're going into Adela Village, but they start off in jail. No replies needed, except maybe a guard coming by to discover them missing or something
Calidral reached down and took a pinch of dirt between his thumb and first finger and rubbed it together, watching it fall back down to the ground. He was sitting in a cell opposite his boss, Zath, with his legs folded up in front of him. he let out a sigh as he looked around his newest settings, wondering how someone could pay him enough and then end up thrown in jail.
Zath had hired Calidral a few days previously to have him sneak into a noblemen's house in search of a book which he believed to have information leading to a staff of power. Zath came along with Calidral to identify the book, but it happened that the Lord of the house was still home and was having a meeting with one of the lieutenants of the jail house.
A mere misfortune is all, this would only slow him down. Zath was extremely persistent when it came to the prospect of power. While his grunt, Calidral, sat on the ground like a child with the amount of fidgeting, Zath sat peacefully, with his eyes closed, meditating and focus his arcane energies. Zath thought about the area around him and where their gear was located, he probed the locks with his mind, but to no avail. Things were looking bad for him, but Zath had great patience and wouldn't give up this easily.
A small spider was crawling along the cell floor, it hurried over towards where Zath was sitting and crawled up his motionless body, it came up over his arm and crawled over towards his nose. The spider turned around and shot a spread of webbing up Zath's nostrils and as Zath became startled and tried to swat the spider away, it lept out of the cell and went into hiding. Zath rushed to clear his nose, snorting and blowing and pulling all the while to get the spider silk out of his airway.
The spider, having gotten away, crawled up the iron bars of Calidral's cell and crawled into the lock, a moment later, it opened and fell to the floor, Calidral looked up in astonishment at the lock falling off, not paying heed to the spider crawling out of the lock. He scrambled to his feet and swung the door open. Zath, having already been stirred from his state of meditation, got up from the floor and came to the door, Calidral began trying to force the lock off, but without success. Trying one more time, both Zath and Calidral pull on bars next to each other to create a gap, the bars squeal open, giving Zath barely enough room to move through.
Zath and Calidral worked their way through the jail system to the equipment, to find the guard laying on the floor with a strong webbing thrown over him, but sleeping. an oily substance around his body, obviously a lubrication. They hurriedly got their gear and a few other items from other people's equipment. a few minutes later, and they were out of the jail and into the streets of Adela....and a spider was resting on Calidral's back.
