Title: The Bitterest Heart Refuses To Be Saved (Dris)
Post by: Anonymous on October 25, 2009, 12:09:37 PM
A deserted place, a person killed, a chilly breeze. What was there not to like?
Shadow escaped the area of the killing quickly to avoid the people that were probabaly going to discover the body. She ran near a path, then stopped in her tracks. Him. That man. The bothersome one. Was. Here.
She scowled. She did not like this guy. He was irritating. But, he was interesting somehow. She followed him down the path he was walking, silently. She accidentaly stepped on a twig. Shit. Now he was going to know she was here. She figured there was no point in hiding now that she was being a retard and being loud and obviously there. She came out of the trees relectantly, scowling at him. "you."

He had told Amber that he was going away for a while. It hurt his heart so to leave her like that, but his love for Shadow was almost as great. It seemed strange that a guy like him had to fall in love with two sisters that hated each other, one of which was an assassin? Even if he could not have her, he still wanted her to . . . well . . . to not be so cold blooded, to feel love again, even if he had to . . . Sael left it at that. It was something not to be thought of for now, he had a mission, to find a magical amulet that allowed him to see the truth in ones heart, maybe then he could really see what went on in Shadow's heart. He might have seen a little of it, but it was not enough.

A snap behind him cause him to whip around. Even as he stared deep into the shadows, he knew who was going to walk out. Shadow. She was still as beautiful as ever and Sael almost smiled when he saw her. "Yes, it is I," Saeilith said. "You are still as beautiful as ever, Shadow."

Shadow couldn't stop scowling at him. She usually was able to at least keep a neutral expression towards people she didn't like, but her dislike for this man was especially acute. Allthough, when he said she was beautiful, she grinned evily. "Yes, I know I am..you should see how I use it to kill my victims, oh so unfortunate." She shook her head. She began walking off into the forest again. He was annoying, she had other things to attend to.

It was obvious. Shadow didn't like him. Or she just didn't know what her feeling were. She probably thought it was dislike, but it had been a long time since she had loved someone. He hoped he was right about that. He watched her walk off, a bit annoyed at the way she decided to act. It was obvious that she knew she was beautiful, but couldn't she at least take the compliment. He shook his had and continued along, he journey need to be taken up a notch.

Shadow watched him from the trees, not really knowing why she was hanging around. She did find his annoyance amusing, however. She wondered what his deal was. Why was she so important? What did he want? She slipped away into the bushes, then, a few hours later, followed him again.

Saeilith hurried along. A hunch that Shadow was following him. But he didn't care. This was for her, for his OTHER love. For Anber's sister. For Shadow. There was so many ways to say it. The sky rumbled and droplets of water fell from the sky. Soon it was an all out rain storm. He continued along, trying to hurry.

Shadow didn't know why she emerged from the bushes and seemingly appeared beside him. She looked at her hand, which was bloody. The blood was washed away by the rain as she watched. She looked at Saeilith with a neutral expression. "You don't like the rain, hm?" She blinked slowly, and thought bitterly, 'like a drenched rat.'

Sael didn't seem to notice that Shadow had appeared next to him. Or didn't care. He cracked a smile, as his mind thought up of a way to confuse Shadow. His hand shot up and clutched Shadow's shoulder as Saeilith stood straight. For a moment, he just stood there staring hard at her. Then he reached around her and hugged her and whispered. "I will save you, and you will be mine then!" Then he released her and went on his way.

Shadow twitched after the hug was released and he went off. 'What the hell?' she thought. The last time someone had hugged her was...decades ago. She just stood there, having no idea what to do. Just stood there. A few minutes later, she walked off into the trees. Okay then. Weird guy. She twitched again. grr. thinking he could mess with her.

As Saeilith slowly ran up higher and higher, it soon grew a bit hard to run but more of a climb. He was still smiling slightly at what he had done. But in truth, what he did was not out of place, nor was what he said. He wanted her, his body wanted her. He was in love with two women at once.

Shadow saw him struggling to climb and thought, 'Idiot.' She didn't know why, but she got her dragon wings and flew beside him, and picked him up, and put him down in a place that would make it easier for him to continue. Then, she smacked him accross the head. hard. She glared down at him. "Idiot." Then, she walked off.

He felt himself being picked up and knew instantly it was Shadow. After she set him down, he was smacked on the head extremely hard and also was called in idiot. She then walked off. Saeilith had to smile despite the pain that the smack had caused him. In a way, she was looking after him, but she still didn't know her true feelings, she was still lost. Just then, noticed something. It had been raining so hard, that he could see that the river was overflowing. Which was where Shadow was heading. Saeilith cursed and ran after her.

Shadow walked along the path, deep in thought. She was thinking about him. He looked so stupid, trying to climb there, she had to help him to get rid of the eyesore of a stupid person trying to do something difficult. As she took another step foreward, her foot caught air. She tumbled foreward into the ravine made by the water and fell in. "WHAT THE FU-" She got a mouthful of water, and then got a grip on the riverbank. She was fastened to the land, then saw Saeilith running up. "I don't need anyone to help me, im immortal! Shoo."

It didn't matter if someone was immortal. The water had its power to kill anything because it fell from the top of the moutains that held a powerful item that allows them to see the truth in ones sould, but it could also trap their soul for all eternity. That was the truth to those waters. She would be trapped in that forever. He did not want that. Then he watched as the ground crumbled where Shadow was holding it. A look of horror held his face.

Shadow sighed. "I know what the water can do. I went into that before I came here  on a job. Just let me go." She watched the ground crumble beneath her hands without any expression. She sighed. "Let me die. Who cares, anyway.." She began to release her grip on the already crumbling ground.

Saeilith heard the words that Shadow said. That was when he decided what he was going to say. "I CARE!" He pretty much shouted. "I care about you! Just as I care about Amber, I care for you just as much!" He ran forward, and clutched Shadow's arm, pulling her up. It all happened so fast, Saeilith almost lost himself as he hugged her as tightly as he could, a few tears fell down his face, but he hoped that no one saw them, blaming it on the rain.

Shadow twisted herself out of the hug, expression shocked. She thought he wasn't serious about this at first. She stood, a few feet away, dripping wet.  She backed away slowly, yelling at him, "Liar!!" SHe wished with all of her might that he hadn't been telling the truth. Then, the whole thing will restart, and she will end up just as bad as last time. She ran off, looking rather horrified at what may happen in the future, or what she thought.

He watched her go. There wasn't anything he could have done to stop her. He sadly watched her go and then began to slowly follow the river up the mountain, climbing when he had to, and slowly but surely made his way up the mountain. He could only have been halfway there.

Shadow's head stopped spinning so violently a little later. She had a bad headache and her mood was less sour than anticipated. She found Saeilith climbing around and sighed involintarily. She quickly regretted that sigh, and wished she had kept quiet. She didn't come out of the bushes for a while, just watched him climbing and hiking up the mountain. She resisted the urge to go fly him wherever he wanted to go. She growled at him, and stayed in the darkness.

It was tiring, but Sael was determined. He was going to save Shadow, and she would be loved again. She would be his and he would be hers. That was what he was doing this for. Another love. He climbed on, his body soaked to the core. He heard something growling loudly, just once, and he knew who it was. He quickly climbed faster, hoping to get to his destination faster.

Shadow came up behind him. When it related to him, she couldn't seem to figure out why she was doing things. She, with no hint of emotion, asked, "Where are you going?" She couldn't stand to see him scrambling around up here. It was getting to her. She thought it pathetic. She was comepletly soaked, but didn't seem to care.

Saeilith had come to a particularly hard cliff to climb. It took him a while, and his hands had begun to bleed, but he did not care, he was going to finish this, and even if he may never use his hands again, he was going to make sure that Shadow did not stay the way she was, the darkness eating away from the inside. As he reached the end, he saw feet. Shadow. She asked him a question, with no feeling whatsoever. "Well now, you will know soon enough anyways." Then he continued along, looking away from Shadow, afraid that she might see his love, and that it might destroy what he was working toward.

Shadow stared down at him. What at troublesome person. In saying he cared if she died, he had given himself a death sentence. She thought she should probabaly kill him. But, she thought, it wouldn't hurt too much to keep him alive. She picked him up roughly by the arm and dangled him of the edge of a cliff. "Why...do you care if I die? You...are getting in the way of my family problems. To be honest, I really don't want to kill you, because that would set a bunch of people off to kill me. What do you want from me?" She stared at him with a steely glare.

It was such a troubling evening. The rain was starting to annoy him, it was slowing him down a lot. He felt himself being picked up by his arm. A sigh escaped his lips. For the first time since he met Shadow's gaze with his left eye, Saeilith looked into her eyes, tears streaming down his face. It was such a trivial thing to cry over. But he was crying, why? Because he loved her? Because she couldn't see that? "What I want?" Saeilith cried out. "What I WANT? I want you! I can't stop myself from thinking of you! I love you, but you just won't admit it!" He slid out of her grip and fell back down a few feet, but grabbed onto the ground and began to climb as fast as he could, with an adrenaline rush. His tears.

Shadow stared down at him. She didn't realize that???!! What kind of idiot was she? She shook her head. She wanted to scream. She didn't WANT him to love her. It was previously an impossibility. If she just LET this continue, then her world would slowly dissapear right before her eyes, like last time. The darkness within her WAS her, it wasn't a part of her. She couldn't be loved. She hated it now. She hated being liked, as it just reminded her of bad times. "No! Why???!" She twitched. She got a hold of her emotions, and said with eerie calm, "No, you don't love me. If you do, then that means I have to kill you."

Saeilith had climbed up higher when he heard what Shadow had said. His tears had stopped but he did not know if it was ever going to really stop. Shadow was wrong, the darkness inside her wasn't a part of her, it was covering the real her. And that was where she was mistaken. Was it really  bad times? No! It was the times that she believed were the happiest. But since it turned bad, she felt she didn't ever want to lose anything ever again, and closed her heart to any kind of love and let it rot. But he could still save it. "Well then, Shadow, you are going to have to kill me."

Shadow scowled at him. "No, I can't kill you. Yet." She sighed, annoyed, and said, "Don't you understand, fool? Loving me will just end up as a big giant mess. I don't love you, sorry kid, but I don't. You haven't lived near as long as I, you haven't seen the things this cruel world can bring." She stared at him, climbing around on the cliff. She almost felt sorry for him. "Forget about me, kid. You have better things to do then falling off a cliff for me."

"You might be right, you most likely don't like me at all." Saeilith grinned. "That is why I came here to look for two special things, one of such is going to give me immortality." He sighed. "But it doesn't matter what you say, I love you, even if you kill me, I will still love you in heaven or in hell." he continued to climb. "The thing is, Shadow, do you really know what you think? the truth?"

Shadow looked at him as if he were very stupid. "...I know my own thoughts..." She shook her head. And an evil chuckle escaped her lips. She flashed an eerie grin. "If you knew my true thoughts, they would make you scared as hell of me." She looked into the distance. "You want to be immortal, huh? Guess that's a good thing, living longer will sure put a thing or two in that empty head of yours."

It was Saeilith's turn to give an evil grin. It did not fit his profile but it looked evil enough. "How well do you really know yourself?" Sael laughed. "You are so-o lost in yourself, so intent on grasping onto darkness because you think its the only thing you have left, you don't even see how uncertain your voice is, your thoughts, your body language." he paused. "The thing is, my mind may be empty and I may be an idiot, but you mind is so filled of crap, so lost in a maze, you are far worse off them me."

She remained grinning evily. "Ha, I may be crazy, but I'm still alive. That's all that really counts." She looked down at him. "In situations, I'm doing much better than you." She looked down at him and sighed. "You know...in trying to help me, you're hurting Amber. In trying to help Amber, you're drawing my sword to your neck. Stop pulling on the strings and leave this alone. You can't save her from me, You can't save me from being crazy." She swept down and kissed him on the cheek, then grinned evily again. "Sorry, kid."

There was far more then he wanted to say but he did not know what else to say. "Amber is Amber, she said that it was all right for me to try and save you." Saeilith lied. "But the thing is, in not helping you, Amber ends up with far too much hate and regret, and you fall farther away to waste." He glared at his path. "Whatever you may think, even if you really believe everything you say, I am doing what I believe in, not just to help you for myself, but to help Amber and you." He tilted his head. "Thanks for the kiss, it was nice, but I have to do what I have to do."

He left her far behind, climbing at speeds far too fast for a human. Maybe he wasn't, maybe he had never been human.

Shadow watched him climb. Damned spider-monkey. She shook her head, and narrowed her eyes at Saeilith. 'I'm going to continue being who I am, even if it destroys me. And, If I die, Amber is going down with me.', she thought bitterly. She apparently had to bring him along into their arguements, and she was going to fight Amber and him to the bitter end. She yelled after him, "What is with you and being so frustrating?!"

Fustrating. That was what Shadow had called him. Was he really? Saeilith didn't think so. No, what it was called was not being annoying, or fustrating, but being determined. He had a job to do, even if that job had to do with someone else who didn't want the job done. He looked over his shoulder at Shadow and shouted back his word. "Sorry!" He couldn't say much more without lying.

Shadow swooped by him, very annoyed looking. "WHY do you like me? I'm endangering Amber. Honestly, I don't see anything about me that would appeal to you!" She picked him off the cliff and started to fly him to the top of the cliff. "It's so agitating, seeing you struggling up the cliff." She set him down at the top, (there was still a ways to go, but it was more a gradual slope) and held him for a moment longer. Then, she ran off. In the distance, a dragon roared, and another roar answered it. The eerie sound continued, and the sound for which the mountains were named for echoed.

To him, it was obvious. He had done soo much for so many people, yet he had never him happy. It was quite obvious to him that god was not going to allow him to love just one person. God wanted to torture him it seemed. He barely noticed Shadow picking him up and dropping him off a bit higher, or what she said. But he did hear it nonetheless. He sighed and watched Shadow walk off. "Because, I do! Because You are you, even if you are quite an evil one, I can't stop myself!" He shouted after her and continued along.

Shadow ran and ran. She didn't really know where she was going, just foreward, backward, everywhere. She ran up a steep slope, and sat on the edge of a large cliff. She looked down off the edge, and didn't seem to notice the tears that came and slid down her cheeks. Saeilith was  nearby, and could probabaly see her, but she didn't care. Her tears were black, and as they hit the ground, they let off a tiny bit of steam. She tilted her head to the sky and let out a dragon's roar. It voiced her emotions better than words, and was a mix of sorrow, confusion, and if you looked deep into her eyes, you could tell that all she wanted was for this thing to end and for her life to end with it. She felt like she was being ripped apart and put back together in the wrong way. She didn't know how she felt Saeilith, but she could tell it was changing her. Shadow didn't know why, but she wanted him with her, next to her. Shadow said, "You, come here!" in a demanding voice with a hint of a growl. She shook slightly and corrected  herself, repeating, "Saeilith...come here." In a softer tone of voice.

Climbing. Climbing still, in the freezing rain. Saeilith was shivering without knowing that he was. He was too intent on finishing his mission. A mission that could tear his heart in half, but had to be done, nonetheless. Clenching his teeth, Saeilith hurtled faster up the cliff, vaguely seeing Shadow somewhere above him, sitting at a ledge. His heart leaped out to her, but he pulled it back in, she didn't want him. It was when a droplet of something hit him and burned him. It caused him to spasm and releasing his hold. Adrenaline rushed, he was holding onto nothing, his body touching nothing. His reflexes saved him as as quick as a snake biting its victim, his hands shot out and clutched the cliff wall.

Still shivering, hands bleeding slightly, and his shoulder slightly burned, Saeilith continued. He had almost missed the roar that sounded incredibly like a dragons, but Sael knew. It was Shadow. He didn't hear anything for a while, and began to climb again. He had almost reached Shadow's perch when he heard her voice.

"You, come here!" Then, more softly. "Saeilith . . . come here." He glanced slightly upwards, and what he saw shocked him to the core. Shadow was crying. Crying black tears. He nodded to himself and hoisted his tired body onto the ledge and walked slowly to Shadow. He sat himself next to her and stared into the distance. "It sucks being loved huh?" Saeilith whispered. "Hurts a bit, everytime you look at them, but not always bad." His words came straight from his heart. "It feels as if you are being taken apart, and put back together, but in the wrong order." He paused. "But what I figured out, was it wasn't the wrong order, but the correct one."

He was silent for a bit. Then he wrapped his arms around Shadow.

Shadow wasn't used to being hugged. She stiffened slightly at his touch. She caught her tear on her hand, and it cooled. It dripped onto the ground. She remained silent for a while. Another tear fell onto her hand. This time, it burned her index finger. She didn't seem to care, and the same thing happened and her palm got burned lightly. She then closed her eyes, and said, "I'm a killer....hanging around with me isn't the safest idea."

He could feel Shadow stiffen against his body as he hugged her. Hugging someone who hadn't been hugged after soo long, after losing all hope for love, hugging was something that she obviously was not used to anymore. He released Shadow slightly, but kept one arm draped around her neck, keeping her close, the rain pelting down on them. "Everyone is a killer, Shadow, do you think I haven't killed many people?" He paused. "I have, though some of them had it coming, some didn't. And even if it isn't the SAFEST idea, I love you, and I will hang with you till the end."

Shadow went to the very edge of the cliff, looking down through the sheets of rainfall. She stood, and said, "Unfortunatly...that end you speak of is nearer than you think. I can't love you, and you can't love me. That is the bitter truth." She bent down and kissed him lightly. "This is goodbye, Saeilith." Her wings and tail dissapeared. She leaped off the edge of the cliff, diving down into the fog and out of his veiw. She hit the rock eventually...as a shadow. He didn't see her die. And he would never know she was still alive. It was the only way. Shadow ran off into the forest, far far away from where she had jumped off.

A feeling of flames engulfed him. He ripped off his eye patch and screamed into the skies. Then something happened. His eye exploded with color (his left eye) and he could see a vague shape of someone running off into the forest. He knew at that point that she was quite alive. He shouted into the heavens again, and jumped. Not down, mind you, but up. And not a few feet, but a few dozen meters. He scrambled at godly speeds, not one of humans. Soon he was at the tip of the moutain. He screamed out. "SHADOW! I'll find you!"

Shadow screamed when she heard him realizing she was still alive. Dammit, this guy was not ever going to leave her alone! She screamed a curse. "NO---!" She ran blindly through the forest, not caring where she ended up, just away. Thoughts raced through her head constantly, all jumbled and not relating. She didn't care about anything except getting as far away from him as she possibly could.

His heart ached, his head pounded. His body was immortal. With a gigantic roar, Saeilith slid down the mountain at the speed an avalanch. A sudden gap, a rift in the mountain, Saeilith roared again and leaped over it. Without breaking a stride, he rolled to break his fall and began to sprint again. The farther she got from him, the more his heart ached the more he felt anger, the more he wanted her. At the a cliff, Saeilith shouted again the third time, and leaped off. He landed in an echoing crash, denting the ground, yet he was not dead after falling over fifty meters. He would not lose her, not when he never had her to begin with. Run.

Shadow couldn't keep running. He was running so crazy, it scared her. She kept sprinting until she could run no more. She collapsed, hitting the ground with a thud. She breathed hard, awaiting the moment he crashed through the trees to her, dreading that moment. She stared at the sky, laying on her back.

As he ran, the rain still pelted against him, but he was no longer shivering. You could actually see him steaming. He wanted her. Wanted her to want him. He sprinted still, but he was no longer mad, Sael didn't think he ever was, just aching for her. He finally reached her. She had fallen and hit the ground with thud, and was now looking into the sky. Saeilith slowed to a walk and strode to her prone form. He looked down as tears still flowed from his face. That was when he lifted her slightly and kissed her with all he could, it might not be enough, but he wanted it to be.

Shadow pulled away from the kiss. It had shocked her. She turned her head to the side and dissolved into darkness. She came out of his shadow, then began to walk away. "We can't be together. Go, or I really will kill myself." She knew she was probabaly killing him. But, she thought, the price was great, but the result was best for the both of them.

It was not just killing him. It was tearing him apart. He hissed a scream out. It wasn't a scream, it was a hiss. "If you think we can't be together, then you have distorted your reality. If you really do kill yourself, then I will kill myself as well." He paused. "Even if I didn't I would still love you, after you died."

Shadow scowled. She said, "Stop it. Just..stop being around me, you lovestruck fool." Her sword was at his throat in a flash. "Distorted reality. No, it is you who is blind, blinded by love."

Saeilith let out a laugh. He couldn't help it. Shadow just couldn't stop being a shadow could she? Lost in a sea of shadows. She thought she was blind. Her feelings were lost to her it seemed. Sael just smiled as the sword touched his throat. "Well now, if you think that, come now, kill me."

Shadow tried to move the sword foreward, but her arm wouldn't budge. She hissed with rage. He was driving her mad. And enjoying it. But, something kept her from chopping his head off. something she didn't get. She lowered the sword and punched him in the arm. "Dammit, you're so annoying! Get out of my face!" She scowled and stalked off down a path.

He watched her run off. More like stalk off. He sighed. He didn't run after her, he didn't shout after her. Saeilith just hoped that she really did like him and would eventually come back. There was much to hope for. He loved her. Lets hope she was the same too.

(Ooc:// I hope I she does LOL)

Shadow appeared about 30 minutes later, behind him, in his shadow, and sighed. She whacked him on the head, not very hard, and said, "Why do you have to be so foolish? I wish you didn't love me. But, I apparently am equally foolish for coming back to you and not killing you."

He continued to walk, and whistling once in a while. Saeilith noticed that the rain was not as hard here as it were up in the mountain, but it was still raining. Half an hour later, something bopped him on the head. He whirled around to see Shadow. He was right! A small smile appeared on Saeilith's lips. "Well now, apparently I am not as foolish as I thought I was." He took off his jacket that was hidden inside inside his bag and drapped it around Shadow. "Though you may not want it, I insist."

Shadow left the jacket on. She sighed again. "If I could outrun you, I would. I'm stuck here. It seems as if I run away, I'll just find you there."  She frowned. "I thought I should show you something..important." She took out a knife and stabbed herself in the chest. She took the knife out. The wound hissed and healed itself. "I can't die. Or...not in normal ways.."

Saeilith smiled as Shadow talked. He was only smiling because he knew that he could outrun her any day. When she stabbed herself, no alarm came to his eyes, he knew that she couldn't. He carefully took the knife from her and stabbed himself in his heart. Though he could feel a bit of pain, when he took it out, the wound healed almost instantly. Which never happened before.

"Well now, I seem to be like you there."

She looked slightly confused for a moment. Then, she sighed. "You know what? I'm not sure if this will make me feel emptier than ever before or better than I ever have felt, so I might as well try and see." She leaned over and kissed him. She still didn't understand her feelings herself. She felt an emotion course through her, stronger than before. It hit her like a lightning bolt. Suddenly she couldn't stop. She had planned to pull away, but she wanted more. She paused, stopping for a moment, and growled quietly at him. "How the hell can I love you and hate you at the same time?"

At that moment, she realized she loved him. But, the story is far from over....

Her words were barely out of her lips when she kissed him. He had kissed her before, but she never really kissed him back. Either she was too suprised or was pissed. Without thinking, he reached around and held her close as he kissed her back. His heart no longer ached, it was on fire! Suddenly she pulled away. He wanted more, but didn't want to pursue. It was when Shadow said the words, he knew. Though she hated him, she also loved him. That was enough.

"I don't know, but I love you enough that even if you hated me, I wouldn't care."

Shadow sighed deeply. What a day. She looked off down the path and saw that the sun was setting. She looked at Saeilith. "Well, It's almost night...And at that, I say goodbye." She swiftly turned around so her back faced him. "I shall go where you can't follow..into the darkness which is me. How long is unknown. I might never come back, but I might just see you in a few days. " She turned into darkness and faded into the shadows.

((You can play out a reaction or something if you want, but we can timeskip a few days/whatever until she comes back.))

Saeilith watched Shadow walk off and disappear into the shadows of the coming night. He just stood there staring for a while then he sighed. "And I didn't even get a good bye hug!" He laughed at himself. Sael sighed and walked off, back home, back to Amber.

(Time Skip here then? Maybe like two weeks?)

The sun had just risen, and Saeilith was oddly enough, returning to where Shadow had once disappeared. He had a hunch that she would reappear, but he might not be right . . .

Shadow frowned at the rising sun. The night was over, her time had ended. She stalked through the trees, and cut onto a path. She kept going, and suddenly, she spotted Saeilith. She went onto that path that he was on. She didn't know why the hell she was still there. One part of her wanted to run off, and the other to stay. She decided to stay. "Hello. Why are you here?" She didn't say it with much emotion.

Walking along the path, Saeilith took in the trees, the birds, everything. Something he hadn't done in a long time. It was when he heard Shadow's voice behind him that he almost lost all of his composure. "Well now, I was looking for you." Saeilith smiled. "Guessed I found you."

Shadow shook her head. "No, I found you." She walked over to him. "Missed me?" She started walking away. "Well, tough luck." She smiled to herself. She felt like bothering him as a kind of 'payback' for him bothering her. She just walked off. She didn't feel like running, because he would follow anyway.

Saeilith groaned as Shadow walked off. Payback was a bitch? He was going to make it fun. For a while he didn't follow, he just stood there and listened to the music of the forest. Then he began to walk leisurely the same way that Shadow had. Maybe with the big gap between them, when Shadow stopped and wondered if he was going to follow or not, he would pop out at that second.

Shadow realized he wasn't following, and thought, 'Ah, so he figures two can play at this game.' She began to walk faster, then ran. She ran in some random direction, as in these places, it didn't really matter where. She stopped. She had a feeling he was going to pop out of nowhere, but that was the fun of it.

Saeilith strolled along. It was a game. It had always been a game. Here he was, though, keeping his emotions under control, his love, and playing a game. A game of all things. He continued along, then he started to job. Then he began to run and run. He would surprise her.

Shadow yawned, and sat down. She would wait for him to appear out of nowhere or hide and pop out sometime. She was a patient person..(sometimes) after all. She then lay on the ground, looking up into the trees. Ah, what nice weather...then, without knowing it, she fell asleep.

((I'll be gone too for a while! XD ))

Saeilith continued to run. But a sudden figure caused him to overshoot his destination. He backtracked to find that Shadow had fallen asleep on the ground. Sael laughed quietly and sat down on a rock a few meters away and waited for her to wake.

Shadow woke a little later, eyes opening slowly. She stared upward at the bit of sky visible. She realized Saeilith was there and turned her head towards him. She shook her head and sighed. "Why can I never outrun you, no matter what I do?" The hard look she gave him softened, just a tiny bit. "Why don't you just let me go?"

Saeilith was lost in his own thoughts. Jumbled all around. He really had no idea why though. His sat there, in a maze that he created. Why couldn't he get out? Why? He realized the answer just as Shadow came to. He listened to what she said. But it almost did not click to him. Then everything rushed back to him and he  shook his head in confusion. " Why I can't seem to let you go you ask?" Saeilith grimaced at what he was going to say. " Is it so easy to let go of your heart? Even one that is bitter and rotted? I think not."
Title: Re: The Bitterest Heart Refuses To Be Saved (Dris)

Shadow's expression became one of anger. It was not directed at Saeilith, but towards herself. "Let go of it? I don't have a heart! Inside me it is hollow and dark, cold and empty! I don't feel love, I feel pain! A raw, terrible pain that reminds me my heart was ripped out and I was left to bleed..." She remembered it like it had been just yesterday. They were just walking in the forest, when he turned around and pinned her against a tree. Then, he got a knife in his hand. It glinted in the moonlight. He said, "All along, I was against you. You didn't see my lies? You truly are in love with me...pathetic." He stabbed her in the chest. While Kasumi was screaming from the pain, she knew she couldn't die. She couldn't escape the pain. The man stabbed her multiple times, threw the knife down into his fallen oppenent, and stalked off. Later, she hunted him down in a blind fury and killed him. The moment she killed him and vowed she would never love again, she became Shadow. Kasumi was dead.

Saeilith looked away. He didn't want to see her like this. She may believe that, but he knew deep within him, that she had a heart. A hunch. He walked forward, right in front of Shadow, knelt down, and put his ear to Shadow's chest, listening for the familier beating of a heart. Oddly enough, he almost agreed with Shadow before he faintly heard it. He removed his touch and glanced away, trying not to meet Shadow's eyes. "You may believe that you have no heart." Sael said. "But you are wrong. And it was not your heart I was talking about." He paused before finally looking into Shadow's eyes. "This could go on forever, me chasing you." He took a few steps back before continuing, not because he was scared or anything, just to give her space. "But you will not win, not when you have a heart." He bowed and sighed. "You see, whether or not you believe that you have changed, that you are no longer like you were before, I will be here to bring you back into the world so that you may live again."

Shadow stiffened as he walked closer. She didn't attempt to move though. She said, after he spoke, "No. You're wrong." She sat up. "I AM living. I don't need love in my life to live. In reality, I don't WANT to live at all." She started running away, and went to the river that she almost fell in earlier. Something went wrong in her brain. An overload of sorts. She wanted to stop remembering shit from the past and stop living shit in the present. The only solution? Dying, attempting to die, whatever. She leaped in the air, hoping to fall in the icy, flooded water and join its blackness.

Saeilith watched as Shadow stood up. He really had no idea what to do with her. Tie her to a chair and wait for her to come to her senses? That probably wouldn't work. His mind was working overtime, he failed to notice that Shadow had walked off. But suddenly, he felt a sudden jolt, as if someone no longer wanted to live. He broke his chain of thought and looked for Shadow. He just saw her as she jumped into the water and nothing. "Shit!"

He ran and dove in after her. The cold water hit him like a wall, but he was determined beyond all that he had before. He reached down deep and grabbed Shadow and dragged her back onto land. Checking a pulse, he swore he couldn't find one.

Shadow didn't mind the cold sweep of the water. It made her at ease, strangely. Rarely did one dive into a river to breathe water. She didn't care about the fiery sting it made in her lungs. It would pay off....It was fading, after all......

She was floating in a void. The nothingness wasn't good or bad...it was, well, nothing. She smiled to herself. Ah, it had worked...was this the afterlife? If it was, she didn't mind it too much. Suddenly, she saw a scaled head emerge from the darkness. It said that she was going back to the living. It needed her for further use. She was pissed. Shit. She figured out a way to die and the demon still wanted her alive. Shadow's eyes opened after a few minutes. She hated the return of the searing pain in her lungs. She glared at nothing and coughed a lot of water out.

Saeilith was suprised. Shadow just suddenly opened her eyes. He was relieved, happy, confused. But he didn't care. Not if Shadow was alive. He carefully reached forward and hugged her. Trying hard not to hug too tightly, or anything. But it was getting cold, and this way, he was happy, and he was keeping her from getting sick.

Shadow squirmed away from the hug. "I'm wet. You don't want a hug from me." She shook her head. That experience had reminded her she was a servant of sorts. A servant of a demon her father befriended. She was bound to him. She couldn't fool around here. "I really can't be here with you. Even if I really wanted to mess around here, I couldn't. I need to serve..." she didn't know what to refer to him as...and she hadn't refered to him as master in a long time. "...my master." She began to walk off as if she never 'died'. There was a purpose in her step, as if she was going to a particular place.

Saeilith watched her go. He really had nothing to do but wait for her to figure it out. He looked down into his hands, where he held an ancient artifact that did just what he wanted. Removing anything he wanted. Including the binds to a demon. He sighed, if only she loved him back. Sael sat down and waited. It could be days, months, years, but he would wait, even after she finds out that she is no longer bound, and even if she still runs, he would wait.

Shadow stopped. Something felt different. It felt terribly similar to before. She felt a huge dread and took out a knife. She cut her left arm. It didn't heal like it did before. She ran over to Saeilith and yelled, "WHAT THE HELL DID YOU JUST DO?!" She gestured to her arm. "DEMON=IMMORTALITY! BAD!" She shuddered. She felt more pissed off than ever before. Serving the demon ment she got to be immortal. She did not want to be a mortal. Hell. No.

Saeilith was at peace. Well . . . not that kind of peace. But it was all just peaceful. Then Shadow came stomping in. She shouted, she screamed. But Saeilith remained calm. He opened his eyes and looked deeply into Shadow's eyes, far deeper then he had before, straight to her heart. This way, she would have trouble looking away. "I only took away the demon, you failed to notice that your immortality has stayed."

Shadow blinked. She didn't feel like re-jumping into the river. Or stabbing herself. "But, Master, he was my master. You can't just....rrr.." She was so used to his presence in her it was damn weird for him to be gone. "I did NOT want you to do that." She looked at her sword. "Just, whatever you do....Don't ruin my sword..." She looked at it like it was her best friend. To be honest, it was her best friend. It kept her alive. It let her do her job. She wouldn't be who she was without it.

Saeilith smiled. "It seems that you no longer feel like killing youself don't you?" He paused, trying not to sound like a know-it-all. "But that is just the effect of the device taking away your . . . master." He sighed. "I am sorry though, that I had to do that." He looked confused when Shadow talked about her sword. But he got it soon enough. "As if I would." Saeilith sighed. "Why can't you just give in to me? Its not really that hard."

A fire came into her eyes as he asked her to just give in. "No. I'm who I am, and I'm going to do whatever I can to stay that way." She closed her eyes. "Hm...but, now that he's gone...it's emptier inside me." She walked over to him. "I need something...to fill this emptiness inside..." She kissed him with apassion. It was the passion of a woman who had never truly done such a thing for 250 years or so. "But, don't think you're my master now.." She whispered into his ear.

Saeilith raised an eyebrow. "I never said that you had to change who you were, I can't stop you." He shrugged. "I just wanted to see you in a different light, in a different form." Sael cocked his head and blinked. "I guess I am right now." At that point, Saeilith did not notice that Shadow had walked up to him. Though he did hear her words. Then she kissed him. What a feeling coursed through his body. He was on fire, but it felt good. As she removed her lips from his, she leaned in farther, her breath wrapping around his ear. "But don't think you're my master now." He heard her say. This time, he kissed her. "Nor will I ever will be, or want to be." Sael smiled. "But as long as I have you in one way . . . "

Shadow grinned. "But, you don't have me yet, kid." She sighed. "Look here. You know, no matter whose side you take, you'll get hurt. You have so many people after you right now, it's kinda sad considering all you wanted to do was help me." She looked into his eyes. "I'm going to ask you one more time. Please don't get in the way of my sister's vengence. She will kill you if you get in the way. I'm saying this to help you. Just don't. Plus, you have my father and a dragon demon to deal with. Quite a handful." She looked up at the sky. It was noon. "I'll meet you again at midnight. I have work to do...." She dissapeared in a cloud of darkness.

Later, Shadow came as she said. She stood in the middle of the clearing they were in before that day, her hands bloody along with her sword. Her eyes seemed redder than usual. She looked at the sky. A red moon. She had quite the job today. Difficult. But, it didn't matter. Her wounds hissed and healed, as usual. Only Amber could kill her. And it would stay that way. She looked around for Saeilith.

Saeilith gave a small half of a smile. "Well, Amber, for one, she, as far as I know, has not completely forgiven you, but I have convinced her to not get her revenge on you because it will only damage her soul." He paused. "though you may not believe a word I just said." He sighed. "I can deal with your dad and that dragon demon too, they may be strong, or they might not, but I will deal with them if they come after me."

"I'll meet you again at midnight. I have work to do...." Shadow disappeared without waiting for an answer. Sael shrugged. He had nothing much else to do. He  went to town and got a quick pack and filled it with some food and clothes, he might be camping there for a while. He returned to the spot quickly, and waited. Saeilith must have fallen asleep for the next moment, he was sitting against a tree, and it was night. At that point he saw Shadow again. He stood and quickly called out. "Shadow?"

Shadow looked up at the red moon. "Hey, kid. How are you?" She seemed dead tired, from both physical and mental exhaustion. "Can you stay...over there? I don't trust anyone these days." She sighed. "It's not midnight yet....I'll be fine then..." She sat on the ground, looking at Saeilith as if he were going to attack her at any moment.

Saeilith nodded. He was not one to evade someone else's territory when they did not want to . . . unless it was for a gain or there was no other choice . . . or it was for their own good. Sael watched Shadow watch him, with a glare that seemed to tell him that right now, he was the enemy. He would not do anything to hurt her or make her more tired.

Shadow stood like a person rising from the dead when it became midnight. She walked over to him in a manner that seemed more like gliding. The ghostly pale light from the moon made her look otherworldly. Her crimson-black eyes almost seemed to glow. She said in a ghostly whisper, "Is it true that you want me to love you?" She extended her hand gracefully, and a light reddish glow appeared on her fingertips. "If that is true, take my hand."

There was naught a thought on his mind as he watched Shadow straighten at midnight. He watched carefully as she walked toward him, much less, float toward him. Her voice echoed as she spoke. And before she had finished her words, Saeilith was already reaching forward, to take her hand. He would not back down now, how could he? Love was love, and he would do anything for it.

As Saeilith's hand grasped hers, the world before them turned into a void, as if a shade had been pulled away. The world, after fading to black, began to show color again. Everything was darker than before. But, they didn't seem to be where they were on the mountains, either. The moon was low, and red as blood. There was what appeared to be a lake, water black as ink and still as glass. She said to him, "This is the realm of Shadow, my place." The literal location of it was impossible to name. It was the place in between here and there- unknown.

Saeilith barely noticed the change until it had completely finished. Though a bit suprised, he did not show it. The world, here, it seemed, was darker, and much more sinister it seemed. But he did not care. He loved Shadow, worlds were of little different. "Quite a place you have here." Sael said. Not the least bit sarcastic. He continued to hold onto Shadow's hand.

Shadow looked at him with a serious expression. She guestured to the moon. "The moon...it used to be white...it has run red with the blood of those that have died by my sword." She walked up to the shore. She pointed to the moon. "You see, it's going to set soon. When the moon sets..." She closed her eyes. "That is the end."

The serious expression confused him a bit. He did not know what to say. The moon? Talking about how the moon had run red because of all those she had killed. "What do you mean that 'that is the end' when the moon sets?" Sael was confused still.

Shadow lowered her pointing hand, her eyes still closed. "That when the moon sets, that is the end...of me." She opened her eyes slowly and stared at the moon that looked like it was daring to set in a few hours. "It is low on the horizon....that means the end is near. But how near? Days, weeks, a month perhaps."

Saeilith just stared. He stared far longer then he remembered ever staring at anything or any person in his life. Then he slowly reached forward and wrapped his arms around Shadow and gave her a tight hug. When he released her, there was a flame in his eyes. "Then I will find a way to make you live forever."

Shadow hugged him back. When he released her, a flame appeared in her eyes also. "Do not even try. You don't understand the fine print. How I die cannot be avoided without someone dying. It's a sacrifice, Saeilith. You can't have us both. She'll find me..she'll kill me. When that moon sets...you must decide. Me or her or neither." She turned and said, "Oh, and what will she do when she finds me with you? It'll be chaos." She looked up into the starless sky.

Saeilith hissed and his voice grew stronger, this was something that he would not be beaten in. He would not let anyone die at all. Sael would never let anyone that he loved die again. His fists were clenched tightly, so tightly that blood dripped down from his hands. Oddly, his anger only grew. It seemed that it would not back down, he could no longer stop it. His eye began to turn from red to gold. His eye patch fell off. His hair began to turn blood red. Power coursed through him and he could not stop it. His expression turned dark. He would not, EVER LET ANYONE DIE AGAIN. His blood that dripped out evaporated before it could fall now. His skin was hot now. Sael screamed to the heavens as his bones realigned, but he could not stop now, he would have Shadow, or else he would die. Hissing in pain, Sael growled out. "I will have you no matter, what, Amber, and you! I can't live without both of you!" He grimaced in pain. "I know I am selfish, but even if it means binding you to me to keep you alive!"

Shadow whipped around. She felt the anger in the air, it penetrated her like an arrow. It made her neutral seriousness dissapear. It remained on her face, but inside her, her anger was raging, boiling. She knew who she was, and she didn't like it. She was....originaly...If he knew...

Shadow yelled at Saeilith, "You don't understand! You don't know who I am! You have us both already, and yet you only have one! I AM AMBER!"

It was something even Amber didn't even know. Their father had split the evil from Amber's soul and it had transformed into a being. Shadow knew, Amber, in the end, would kill her, to rid herself of the evil in her soul...

She was shouting. But that wasn't what mattered. The words were what mattered. And they were . . . impossible. He backed away. His mind a jumbled puzzle. But then he gathered his thoughts. He would not let something as big as this change this thoguhts though. He would push on. He would figure out a way.

"It doesn't MATTER who you WERE!" Saeilith said, his voice quieting. But the anger was still there. "Amber is Amber, but the thing is, you have become someone COMPLETELY different as a whole." He twitched as the power ate at him. "You may have come from her, you may believe that you were once her, and that may be true, but now is different from then."

He looked at the moon and the power surged again. "Even if Amber were to kill you, that would not be possible, she cannot kill herself, no one can completely get rid of what is evil inside of them. There is always some part of them that is evil. It may not be big, it may not be bad, but it will always be there." he walked forward, his skin returning to normal but nothing else. "You will always be here as long as Amber lives. I know this for a fact." He touched Shadow's face. "You may be Amber's shadow, but you are my reflection." And he kissed her.

Shadow pulled away slowly. She said, "We are different people, Saeilith. I am no longer Amber. She can kill me, as I can kill you. You don't understand anything..you understand nothing!" She turned around again, walking away from him. "I am who I am, just a shadow. You've just fallen in love with something that can't love you back." She faded, but was still there. "Amber will be coming soon." They went back to the real world. Shadow still was faded, like a ghost.

Saeilith felt the world around them shift back to normal. Amber would be here soon it seemed. The thing was, he still had fight left in him. "You know . . . what's funny, is that you can love back, but you just don't want to." He sighed. The moon was still there, but now white. He stared at it for hope. Then he dropped his eyes. "You know, that doesn't stop me from loving you, because you are you." He turned his back. "But because you believe that you are but a shadow, because you believe that you are not but a person, you fade yourself into nothing." He started walking, then stopped. "If that is the way you want to be, then so be it."

Shadow said to Saeilith, "What happened to five minutes ago, you freaking out? If you're going to accept who I am, then it's time for the battle to start...In fact..." The world flickered to the other for a second. The moon seemed much too large, and something about it seemed sinister. It was right on the horizon. "It's time...judgement day for me."

Amber emerged from the bushes into the clearing where they were. "Shadow, I've-" She cast a confused glance at Saeilith. "What...?"

Saeilith turned again and looked at Amber. Then he looked at Shadow. He shook his head back and forth. His hair was still red. His power was still strong. It was strange. His eyes were still gold. He whispered. "This wasn't supposed to happen at all." Then he screamed. And far more was in it then just sorrow and pain, power course through it. Crazy.

Shadow didn't see Saeilith. It wasn't him anymore, she thought. It was just someone in the area, just another person who didn't matter. Only her opponent mattered now. She unsheathed her sword slowly and pointed it at Amber. "So, you've come to fight me now, have you?"

Saeilith screamed again as he watched them run at each other. He would not let this happen. HE WOULD NOT! HE ran foward, and just as the blades both pierced him. He hissed in pain and reached out, and grasped both Amber and Shadow. He would not let this go any farther. He screamed out. "WHY IS IT YOU TWO?!" He huffed, and coughed out some blood. "You both are idiots you know? Truly you guys were once the one and the same." He laughed crazily. "Is it really that hard to stop fighting?" he paused. "IS IT REALLY?" His vioce echoed and he coughed out more blood. But his grasp on them both remained tight.

They both paused, eyes wide. Amber said, "It is, in fact, that hard." She tried to release his grip on her. "Stop it, Saeilith! I don't want to have to kill you..." Her eyes hardened and she looked at him with a terrible fury. She snarled.

Shadow just stood, watching Amber struggle. She also wanted to get away, but was almost appalled at how much hate shone in the eyes of her 'sister'. She didn't think her hate was great enough to cause...this. She didn't think Saeilith's love was great enough to cause...this.

Saeilith suddenly had a thought. His power dwindled finally though. THe blood that flowed from his wounds were incredible, but he did not care. He removed the sword that Amber had stabbed into him and sighed. "Hate me. If you must hate someone, hate me!" Saeilith screamed. "If you really must hate someone, then hate me! Not her, not her because she IS YOU!" He gave a hidden smile. From now on, she would still hate someone, and Shadow would survive. It might pain him that Amber hated him, but he could survive. He had done so for so long.

Amber knew it, somehow, all along. Shadow was her, she was Shadow at some point or another. But, she was blinded by a fury that was so terrible, it made her not even think Saeilith was her love. "Shadow is who I must kill!" She made a sound that sounded quite like a lion's roar. She squirmed away from his grip. Shadow dissapeared, and re-appeared next to Amber. Amber pushed her near a cliff's edge, snarling. She ran towards her to kill her when Shadow grabbed her, turned her around, and made her the one facing the cliff. Amber's sword dropped to the ground. Shadow put hers down also and shoved Amber over the cliff's edge.

Determined not to die, Amber grasped the edge. Shadow kneeled down and dug her clawlike fingernails into Amber's hand. She screamed. Shadow said, "You can't kill me."

Saeilith sighed. This was over. He would make sure of it. He ran after then and arrived moments later. He quickly rushed over and pushed Shadow back a bit and pulled Amber up. Then he cast his eye magic on both of them. "You both will not attack each other for now." He looked at both of them and shook his head. "You know what's really funny? Amber? You said that Shadow made you kill you parents?" He looked at Amber. "Well the thing is, you wanted to do that, you know why? Because Shadow had been the one to push you to do it, but your thoughts themselves were already like that." He laughed. "So if you must blame someone truly, blame yourself!"

Amber still wanted to kill Shadow. Something made her stay back and not do anything though. "I will not forgive you for this, you know. Never..." She took her sword off the ground. "I can't stop loving you, no- I can't stop hating Shadow, no- but that doesn't mean I can't be furious with you." She turned away from the cliff. "You see, we're all back to square one. I'm living alone in the forest again, Shadow hasn't changed. All that's left is a scar in our hearts..." Amber looked down at Shadow's sword. She swore there was something she should do with it, something....

Oh. She picked up the sword, and realized...there was one thing that she could do to make this end. She handed Shadow the sword. She took it without question. They walked off a bit from Saeilith. Then, Shadow held the Sword in front of her. "So, Amber, when are you going to realize how to kill me?" Amber struck the sword, which had an odd energy surrounding it, with hers, and it sliced right through Shadow's. As the two pieces fell to the ground, Shadow's eyes widened. She didn't realize it, but Amber just figured it out. Shadow coughed out blood, a wound that appeared in her chest pouring blood. This wound...it was more penetrating than the others. It peirced her to her core. Shadow fell backwards, almost in slow motion it seemed. A smile replaced her shocked expression. A knowing little smile. She landed with a thud, Amber standing over her and the remenants of the sword. It had only worked because Amber had originally just planned to destroy the sword so Shadow no longer could attack her...later. She did not do it with an intention to attack Shadow, but the sword itself. Therefore, the power did not effect the action taken.

Shadow stared off the cliff. S

Saeilith laughed at what happened. Oh how said. Everything he did ended for nothing. He might as well leave. And leave he did. He leaped off the cliff and sped down. There was nothing for what he wanted anymore. He was angry and when he was angry, he ran.

Amber just gave up on Saeilith after that point. She called after him, "Hey, Idiot! You can bring her back, if you want!!!" There was not the tiniest hint of sarcasm in that. She glared after him like he was the stupidest person in the world. She yelled with a considerable amount of sarcasm, "Oh, you can kill me, though. Just kill me so then both are dead! But you don't care about me, you only care about the evil one, you bastard!"

He heard her. Too bad she was too lost in herself. He no longer liked the way she was. Sael sighed. It began to rain once again. Once again he had lost everything, though he may bring her back. Shadow . . . Amber . . . again. He might as well stay single. Life had its way of giving you things such as this. There was no more to talk about, no more to love.

A laugh sounded from everywhere but nowhere. Shadow came out of nowhere and knocked over Saeilith. She said, "Hey. Haven't you ever heard of an illusion?" She had asked her demon to replace her image with an illusion right before the instant she 'died'. "Ha, right when I'm here for you, you don't want  me anymore. That really sucks, you know?" She walked away from him. "Please, just either follow me or go deal with the screaming girl up there. But, you gotta give her some slack on that one. You did cheat on her, after all!" She patted his head like he was a child.

Saeilith was not really surprised that Shadow was alive. He had gotten used to having surprises thrown at him. He nodded to himself. "Yes, yes I do have to choose." He sighed. "And I guess she does need some slack, cheating? No I didn't, I was trying to save you, and look where that got me." He sighed again. "Why oh why is it I who needs to take all the pain?" He shook his head. "You both think that you have soo much pain and so-o much to deal with . . . 'really now, you guys don't know the half of the pain I know." He started back up the cliff to start calming Amber down. "Shadow, I'll be back in a few, wait for me."

Shadow yawned. Yawned like she had the easiest life in the world and nothing ever happened. "Go right ahead, kid. Just don't be complaining." She sat down and looked at her sword.

Amber ignored Saeilith. She faced the oppisite way of him when he went back up. She said, "Look here, Saeilith. You have to admit that you would be pissed off if someone got in the way of acheiving something you have wanted to do for most of your life." She began to walk off. "Hey, I'm gonna go somewhere for a while. Just...don't bother me. Let's just talk later. I would appreciate it." This was one of the rare times in which she actually decided to resolve anger in a civilized manner. She picked up the pace and walked away fast.

Saeilith watched Amber go off. Words were at the tip of his tongue, but he didn't say them. Instead . . . "and I will wait until then." He headed down the mountain for the last time and headed to where Shadow waited. Then he cocked his head. "Now I am going to wait for her to calm down." he paused. "In the mean time, what shall we do?"

Shadow had a curious look about her, but at the same time, uninterested. She got up and sheathed her sword. "She'll calm down sometime soon, don't worry. I would know." She walked up to him. "In the mean time." She looked almost embarrased for a second. "I'll admit, I have taken a liking to you.." She hugged him, and gave him a kiss on the cheek. "I didn't want to be tearing you apart like I have been." She softened her gaze. "Is there anything I can do for you?" She didn't want him to hurt. Only weeks ago, she'd rather have him pushed off a cliff.

Saeilith gave a sad smile and sat down. He whispered one of the few words of magic he knew and a fire had set going. Sael looked sadly at Shadow. "How about just being here with me, close?" Sael said. That was truly all he wanted right now. His heart was in pieces, his mind in jumbled shards. Saeilith sighed. "Life oh life."

Shadow sat next to him. She herself was an assassin, suppossed to be hardened to emotions of love and caring for others. And here she was, being nice with him. She didn't care anymore about that. She felt like she owed him, and herself in a way, this time with him. "Hey, Saeilith....I..I'm sorry." She kissed him on the lips, softly. "Can I...kiss you?" She kissed him again, slightly longer than the last kiss.

Saeilith kissed back, but only slightly. His heart was heavy, and he could not seem to tell why. But he decided that while he tried to figure out why his heart hurt so much, he might as well allow Shadow in. "Sorry for what?" Saeilith laughed quietly. "Kissing is good." And this time, he leaned in and kissed her, and he kissed her passionately and with love. Maybe he could figure out his love and heart with Shadow.

Shadow kissed him back with equal passion. Then, rather suddenly, a black tear ran down her face, falling to the ground. She didn't know why a few tears suddenly came, but they did. She continuted to kiss him, and all her pain, and love was laced into it. She whispered to him, "Why did you make me love you?

He didn't notice the tears until it touched his face. It sizzled slightly, but nothing else happened. He pulled away slightly and looked at Shadow. Saeilith was confused. He had MADE her love him? That wasn't even possibly unless he had cast a spell over her and he had no magic besides what dwelled inside of him and his eye. The kiss restarted and he heard her whisper words. "Why did I bring out the love in you, you mean?"

She nodded slightly. "Yes, I don't see why you went through all that trouble. For the sake of god, you got stabbed! Don't you learn-" She stopped suddenly and sighed. "I won't lecture you. I know I would fail anyway. She paused. "I'll have to go do my job in the morning, but I have to go now. You can't follow, it's a dangerous mission. I'm not saying you can't handle it, I'm saying for you to stay here, and go be with you wife when she comes back." She leaned over and kissed him softly. "Goodbye, Saeilith...for now." She vanished into the very substance of her name; Shadow.

He was about to reply to the comment about getting stab, and show her that the wound had already closed but Shadow stopped her rant. Then she said the truth. She would never get the lecture through him. "That is one right part you got, I'm just like you, as stubborn as hell." He smiled at that. "I do hope that you don't lose yourself in your missions and I wish you a speedy job well done? I guess that would be the wrong thing to say considering you assassinate people, but I don't care as long as they are not my friends." he paused and his smiled fell a bit. "Yes yes, I know, my wife. But she will not calm down for a bit, so I will just sit here and wait for you." He touched his lips after Shadow had kissed him and whispered. "Good bye."

Shadow came back many days later, in the evening. She looked rather tired, but not exhausted. It had been a long week or so. She appeared out of the darkness and hugged Saeilith. "I'm back. Amber has told me something that she wants me to tell you." Shadow released the hug and said, "She has gone back to her father to train in her fighting. She requested you not go after her; and she said you shouldn't bother waiting for her to come back." Shadow mumbled something about her mother being stubborn and said to herself, 'Where the hell is that woman..?'

Saeilith was facing another direction when Shadow appeared. She came up behind him and hugged him. Though it surprised to hell out of him, he quickly wiggled out of her grasped and hugged her the correct way. Once released, Shadow started talking. He listened to Amber's words through Shadow talking, and he understood. Even if he didn't want it to be that way. He was a bit confused when Shadow started talking all about her mother though. "What was with the sudden talk about your mother?"

Shadow shrugged. "Amber and her look almost exactly alike..they are just really similar." She sighed. "Nobody knows where she went, and if she is alive or not." She said, "Saeilith, I'm not supposed to exist...i'm...half a person! I wish you knew what I felt like." She hugged him. "However, that isn't so."

Shadow was confusing him. "Her mother looks like her? What? Sorry if I am like an idiot right now." Saeilith then cocked his head. "I see, her mother is missing is she?" He laughed at that. "Your family is just full of troubling matters." He backtracked. "Not saying that some of that isn't good." He looked hard at Shadow, and ignored her talk about being half a person and took the hug. "Well, to me, you are . . . as whole as can be." and he kissed her again.

Shadow accepted the kiss but pulled away faster than he probabaly would have liked. She sighed. "Hey...do you want to go visit your wife now? She isn't exactly mad at you anymore. Now it's just regret and past problems that she is feeding on. I can take you to her if you want."

Saeilith almost reached for Shadow as she pulled away. But he knew not to pull her too much at once. He gave a rueful smile. "Of course, if she isn't mad, then I will go comfort her." He paused. "And I am thankful for you, for being so . . .gentle when it isn't your nature." He kissed her lightly and waited for Shadow to take him away to Amber.

Shadow nodded to him and said, "This may feel rather odd. Don't mind it; it won't hurt you." She reached her hand out and touched him. He began to dissolve into darkness. So did she. Then, they both dissapeared.

What seemed like seconds later, they appeared from a shadow in a garden. There was a large house there. It had the aura of a haunted house. Something about it seemed rather creepy, unsettling. Shadow said, "Here it is. You'll probabaly see father."

In an instant, he appeared out of a shadow in a garden. Saeilith, momentarily disoriented, stumbled around like a drunk. As he got his bearings, he heard the truth in shadow's words. Her father. It could be trouble. Trouble was no good. Sael did have a short sword along the length of his leg, making it hard for him to walk normal, but not impossible. If there was to be fighting, he would be ready. He nodded at Shadow and walked to the front, where he may enter the house. Taking a deep breath, Sael opened it and walked into the darkness.

Shadow watched as he entered the building. She remained outside and watched. She would probabaly come to help if something got bad.

The rooms were filled with dark, old things and furniture. Occasionally there would be someone walking by, glancing at him, and walking away without a word. From a hallway there was a sharp clang of a sword against another.  '

Suddenly, the father of Saeilith's wife appeared behind him, as if out of nowhere. The darkness of the hall concealed him. He was a tad taller than Saeilith, and his eyes were cooly looking at him. "Did you even knock...?" His voice was rough, as though he didn't use it often. It had a menacing edge to it, and with good reason one could say. When one finds a random person in their house that they do not kniow, they aren't particularly friendly.

Saeilith was a bit on edge as he entered the house. Strange that it wasn't locked and he was just able to open it effortlessly. It was almost as if he was invited in. Taking a deep breath he walked farther in, ignoring the shadows of people walking in the distance. Suddenly a voice behind him. Saeilith jumped a few feet to the left and whirled around, his hand touching his side, where his weapon was. He quickly stiffened and grimaced. "Aah, sorry sir, I was supposed to have been invited." He paused. "Shadow said that Amber would see me now." His eyes narrowed a bit. He had heard talking about their father from both Amber and Shadow. He had a hunch that this man was their father. "and you must be their father . . . am I right?" He bowed low. "My name is Saeilith Eideun, a pleasure to finally meet you sir."

He watched Saeilith carefully. He nodded a more polite greeting as he introduced himself. "You are not mistaken. I am their father." He was dressed in clothes that seemed old and formal, matching the rest of the house. He tilted his head, barely visible, to the side. "And, may I ask who you are? Me and my children don't communicate often, so they wouldn't have told me about you...." His voice was less menacing than before, but was still rather cautious.

Saeilith waited for an answer patiently. He was a bit nervous to be here. Their father seemeed very . . . large and frightening, but Sael could handle it. Probably. Maybe . . . Maybe not. It didn't really matter. Sael was going to have to deal with him eventually. "I am . . . "Saeilith coughed and hissed a breath inwards. "Amber is my wife." He really didn't like the way this was going. "Shadow is . . . my friend."

He straightened his back in an instant, rising to full height when this information was told. He didn't look exactly angry, but more a mixture of suprise and confusion. However, the emotion dissapeared like a fading fog. The cool look turned rather more pronounced. He grunted. Then, he stepped from the shadows and stiffly walked around Saeilith, as if inspecting him to find if he was worthy of his daughter. "May I ask what makes you think you are worthy of my daughter?", he growled.

Saeilith cocked his head as he watched Amber's father. He seemed . . . very sharp. But he could no know what their father might be like unless he got to know them. Sael stayed still as Shadow's father walked in a circle around him, inspecting him. "Does that matter as much as what your daughter herself thinks?" Saeilith paced back and forth. "But if you must know, I do treat both of them, both Amber and Shadow, even if they believe they are not, as I would treat any other person." He paused. "If you do not know how I treat others, I treat them all equally and with respect and with kindness." He coughed. "Unless you are my enemy."

He looked off into the distance for a moment. Then, he said, "All right...give me your hand. There is something I have to know." He took Saeilith's hand and in the blink of an eye made a cut as thin as a papercut with a small blade. He scooped the drop of blood up onto the knife and held it up to his face, examining, and sniffed the air. His expression darkened considerabaly. "You may want to know why I did that, yes? Well, when Amber first came here, I was quite surprised. I smelled blood that wasn't anyone's I had known before on her sword, faint but still there. I was curious as to who's it was...and now I know. " He stared straight into Saeilith's eyes. "I would like you to explain why the scent of your blood was on her sword."

Saeilith laughed then. This man truly was their father. "Well now, you might have to ask her why she stabbed me." He shrugged. "However it was supposed to happen, what I was doing was trying to stop Shadow and Amber from fighting,: He paused and shrugged again. "While you might not approve of that, I did it because they both deserve to live." He walked around Amber's father and nodded. "If it comes to it, I will take punishment if it was a wrong doing . . . father."

James Kazuki stared at Saeilith for a moment longer, and a hint of a smile crossed his lips. "Punishment...trying to reason with either of my children with as much devotion as you have for an extended period of time is punishment enough to me." "I never thought Amber would get married, and I never thought Shadow would have a friend. You have proven me wrong, and in my eyes, it makes you worthy of her. My only request is that you are kind to both of them..." He turned sharply on his heel and said with sounded like an attempt at a rather kind tone of voice, "This way." He walked down the hall towards where Amber was.

Saeilith watched this man carefully. He could either prove dangerous, or a well accounted ally. He was his father-in-law after all. Then when the man finally approved of him. A nice feeling it was. "Of couse I will, they are my life . . . most of it." He smlied and followed after the man. Now that he thought of it, he never got a name from him. He knew that this man was their father, Amber and Shadow, but they never did tell Sael his name. "Excuse me, It seems I forgot to ask for your name."

"My name....?"
He looked over his shoulder at Saeilith. "My own children don't even know my name. Their mother did, however..." He looked back at his path. "I don't care what you call me, whatever it may be. Sir, father, that one man, I don't care." He opened a heavy wood door to reveal a room that was rather large and had many weapons on the walls, of all kinds. There were two places that looked different, somehow. They looked special, and the places were empty. "She's in there somewhere. You can go find her..." He left without another word.

Saeilith was a bit . . . he couldn't really describe the feeling. This man was one of solitude. "If you do not care of what you are called then father and sir will both do you fine." He paused at the open doorway. Weapons. Ambe must have been here as a child. He could imagine it. Then he entered and waited. Amber would come to him when she was ready.

Amber came out of nowhere, tackling Saeilith and holding the sword in a deadly position. She relaxed and released him after realizing it was just him. "Oh, it's you." She got up and said, "So...what have you been doing all this time?" She examined her sword and waited for an answer. She said it surprisingly casually for the situation.

Though a bit surprised by the tackle, Saeilith gathered himself and put himself into a sitting positions. "What I have been doing? I have been waiting for you." Sael smiled. "What ever now. Are you okay now?" He paused then . . . "I am sorry for what I have done to you."

Amber inspected her weapon. "Perhaps." She tilted her head to the side when he said he was sorry and glanced at him. "No point in apologies. It won't make much a difference to me." She said, "Come on, let's have a little battle. I won't go too easy on you, so be prepared."

He was a bit surprised at the way Amber was acting, but once again, he kept what he wanted to say inside, no point in saying things that didn't matter. "If there is no difference, why are you here? Why are you so different from before?" He paused and frowned. "Is that really neccessary? Fighting?"

Amber glanced at him. "I'm no different than before, you've just never seen me when I'm cross with you." She added, "I just wanted to see how good I got at fighting. It doesn't really have much to do with me being angry at you."

Saeilith laughed. "I guess I haven't." His expression grew serious. "This is going to be an experience isn't it then?" He sighed and removed the sword that was strapped to his side. Then again, it wasn't one sword . . . but two. He snapped them apart, for they became one sword when stuck together. "I truly hope this does not affect our relationship." Then he attacked.

Amber grinned as she dodged the attack. "It won't, I'm so used to this stuff." She made an attack. "Hey,  as long as you won't hold this against me, I'm fine." She made a series of attacks with her sword.
Title: Re: The Bitterest Heart Refuses To Be Saved (Dris)

Saeilith laughed lightly as he parred the attacks with his own twin swords. "Well then, winner gets to kiss the other . . . say . . .tied up then?" Sael grinned. This was going to be fun. Swords were his specialty. He launched some of his special moves, the shadow blades. He hid one blade behind the other, and when they went to block, he would twist his wrist, bring the other blade that was hidden to a position where the opponent could no longer attack. There was no guarentee that this would work, but this was a battle. There had to be chances.

Amber grinned back. "Okay then. That works." She wasn't expecting that attack. She was barely able to counter, by using a little bit of fire to blast herself backward. It wasn't directed at Saeilith so it wouldn't burn him though. "Nice one." She rushed towards him and began to attack again.

Saeilith grinned. It was time to get serious. "Well now, just wait until you see this." He advanced and as he attacked, each time he did so, his blade moved faster then before, his speed increasing. Not just increasing, but the pattern become more irratic.

Amber's eyes widened. 'Dammit.' She avoided and blocked it, but it started getting a bit crazy. "Dammit!" She accidentaly left an opening she shouldn't have while in a frenzy to avoid the blade. It was game over for her. She looked annoyed.

It was obvious, that opening that Amber left. Sael took no notice in it though, he just twisted his wrist, flinging both hers and his own blades into a pile in the distance and rushed forward and wrapped her into a bear hug, accidentally having them fall to the ground. Saeilith cusioned the fall, and even as he caught his breath, he was already kissing her. Whether Amber thought this was an apology or not, Sael hoped that she would forgive him.

Amber blinked. She wasn't expecting that. The annoyance dissapeared from her face. She blushed. She pulled away and blinked owlishly. "Well, an unexpected apology, I'd say. But, I accept." She said, in a rather grumpy way, "Eh, I guess you won that little fight, huh."

Saeilith smiled when Amber blushed. He got her back . . . kind of. Sael took a deep breath, and rolled off to the side, into a sitting position next to Amber. "Is it really that unexpected?" He shrugged. Maybe it was. "I am glad that you did accept it though." When he heard Amber grumpily talk about him winning the fight, he laughed. "Haha, maybe I did. Maybe next time we have a "fight" you will win."

Amber shook her head. "Nah, I'd probabaly lose again." Then, she sat straight up and said, "...that's odd.." She heard footsteps in the hallway. Fast paced. It sounded like her father was going somewhere quickly. Too quickly for something normal..."It's probabaly nothing..." She mumbled to herself.

Saeilith yawned. He was happy again. Well, without Shadow, he was only half, but happy enough. While he didn't notice anything wrong about the father walking  somewhere fast, Amber did. Whatever it was, something was wrong. "Amber . . . how about you follow your father and see where he is going." He shrugged again. "Better to be safe then sorry." He stood. "I will go get Shadow, and we will also follow."

Amber shook her head. "Shadow isn't here. She left somewhere." Amber always knew if Shadow was around. Well, almost always. She said, "We can follow by ourselves." She stood and opened the door. Amber's mouth fell open and she dropped her sword that she picked up. She saw her father, shocked, down the hallway, in front of a shadowy figure. Her father said, "It's you.." The figure replied, "Yes..I have returned." The figure stepped foreward and who stepped out looked quite a lot like Amber. She was tall, and had a strong, important air about her. She was in a dress that had oranges, reds, white and blues. She looked at Saeilith and Amber standing in the doorway.

Saeilith nodded. Amber did always know when or where Shadow was near. What seemed to frighten him was that the woman standing past the doorway looked strangely like Amber. Then he remembered Shadows words. About Amber's mother. The mother who had disappeared. Sael took a deep breath. A sharp intake. He couldn't stop himself. This woman, who had vanished suddenly, just decided to come back? What was this? Sael knew something didn't feel right, but he didn't say anything. He wouldn't say anything. He just stood there at the doorway, and whatever Amber did was up to her. Saeilith was no longer here, he was gone. He had lost himself into the world of what happened.
Title: Re: The Bitterest Heart Refuses To Be Saved (Dris)

Amber shook her head, knowing what Saeilith was thinking. "That's not mother..." Suddenly, there was a feirce roar that shook the earth violently. Her father took three steps backward. Behind the woman, the air itself seemed to rip, forming a gaping hole into another place unknown. Amber took a small step backwards. "That is..." The woman dissapeared, as she was an illusion.

A huge fox-like demon emerged from the hole, and entered. The demon had 5 tails, and odd looking patterns similar to tattoos on its fur. They glowed with magic, and faded to black once the demon emerged completely. Amber's father looked up at the demon, saying in a rather defeated tone that didn't seem to fit him, "Please don't be angry with me..." The demon glanced at him, then looked at Saeilith and Amber. The demon came foreward. Amber lowered herself in a sign of respect and said, "Mother, it seems you have returned."

Saeilith was still no where to be found. It was obvious that while his body was there, his mind was not. It was because of all the power of that demon that was Amber's mother. It burned his heart. The reason for this, Saeilith had the power of demons, he had once been one, just for a few hours, and it was enough to give him this power, to live forever, to have extraordinary power. It took him a few minutes to burst back into his body.

What he saw when he awoke was a demon. While it looked incredibly scary, it also looked . . . familier almost to Saeilith. Something was wrong with him. Sael closes his eyes and thought. That was it! He had met her in his few hours into demon world. Or maybe it was just a look alike.

Amber's mother nodded her head to Amber, then looked at Saeilith. She nudged him, due to his unresponsive state, and said, "Who are you, human?" She sat down, all 5 tails wrapped around her. She didn't sound unfriendly.

It took a bit to realize that Amber's mother was talking to him. It took even longer for him to gather his messy thoughts, his jumbled puzzle. Saeilith shrugged. "Saeilith, just a human, as you said." Sael gave a crooked half smile. "Then again, I could be someone important. Probably not though."

Amber's mother chuckled a little. "Hello, then." Amber said, "He's my husband, mom.." Her mother looked at Amber and tilted her head, saying in an amused voice, "Well, I never thought I'd see the day you find a man! Ha!" Amber rolled her eyes slightly.

Saeilith cocked his head. "Yes, I am her husband." He repeated what Amber had said. A few seconds too late obviously. "While I don't mean to be rude or anything, but I don't think anyone here believed that YOU would appear again, so don't make fun of my Amber." He wrapped his arms around Amber at that point.

Amber's mother growled a little, playfully. "Hey. I didn't have much choice in the matter. And she's my Amber too." She stood up and stretched a little. "I see you're a nice person. Feel free to stay here as long as you like..." She trotted off, saying to Amber's father on the way, "Talk a little! At least talk to them while the're here."

Saeilith watched as Amber's mom walk off in a slight hurry. He also noted that the father followed her, despite her order to talk to him and Amber more. He looked at Amber. "Well I do hope we can get over our fights as easy as that previous one." Sael grinned, it was nice to grin again. "Of course I am but being sarcastic here."

Amber chuckled. She looked in the direction where her mother went. "I've missed her. She taught me a lot of the things I know, even if she's a bit strict sometimes. It's good to know she's okay." She glanced at Saeilith. "So, do you like them?"

Saeilith smiled lightly as he listened to Amber. "Liked them?" Saeilith frowned. "Liked who?" Then it hit him. "Ooh, liked your parents?" He grimaced, that was slow of him. "Yeah, they seem very nice . . . I think." He shrugged. "Doesn't really matter that much. They don't have to like me that much."

Amber gave him a sideways glance. "But, it's better if they like you." She looked back foreward at the sound of footsteps coming down the hallway. Her father passed by, frowning slightly. He said to Amber when walking past, "Don't let your sister in."

Amber knew he didn't like Shadow in the weapons room; simply because of an old fear of her getting to things she shouldn't have.

Saeilith smiled. "I guess it is better for them to like me isn't it?" He shrugged though again. "While they may or may not like me personally, I will always remain indifferent." He watched their father, well her father walk off after tell her not to let Shadow in. He frowned a bit. "How about we go talk to your sister?" He paused. "We do have a bit to discuss . . . "

Amber closed her eyes, and an odd energy formed around her. There was a bad feeling to it; it was as if her hate was so strong, that it penetrated the air around her. "I'd rather not today. It's not a good day. Tomorrow, perhaps." She began to walk away, passing a part of wall that Shadow had put her name on. Amber ran her hand across it, it making a sound like fingernails on chalkboards. The name had 4 horizontal scratches through it now. She mumbled something to herself, continuing.

Saeilith watched Amber's expression darken quite a bit. Probably not the best thing to say just yet. He nodded. "Yes, maybe another day." He watched the scratching and Amber leaving. Give her time. Saeilith walked out of the house. More like spent a few minutes trying to find the exit. He looked around. "Hey, Shadow, I am back."

Shadow appeared behind him. "I can't stay for long." She kissed him on the cheek, whispering into his ear, "I want Amber to hate me. It's a fact I cannot deny. Perhaps I am evil....but it's just how I am." She looked away into the trees. "Amber's been through more than you can imagine; she just doesn't remember it all..." She walked a little away and her back was to Saeilith. "That's the one justice I did to her; took away the memories she's better not having."

Saeilith sighed. He seemed to sigh so much after meeting these two. Maybe it was just because he cared too much. Whatever it was, it didn't matter about anything, he loved them both. "That may be, but don't you dare go away to far." He smiled sadly. "Just remember, if you leave, if you are ever in need of someone, in trouble, or just want someone to talk to."

Shadow appeared infront of him. "You're so......hopeless." She sighed. "Why do you like me? What if I'm just using you? Do you care?" She kissed him. "What if I'm the poison that will end up killing you?" She whispered, "You just don't understand, do you." Then she was gone, a black rose in her place.

"Yes, Yes I am really hopeless." Saeilith smiled. "But I just love you, I can't explain it, I can't know why." He shrugged off Shadow's words. "Use me all you want, and just try to intentionally or unintentionally to kill and or poison me." She was gone already but he kept on talking, but quieter now. "I would never try to understand you know?" He sighed. "Love it love."

Amber looked out the second story window at Saeilith. She jumped onto a tree in front and slid down. She looked around, and sniffed the air like an animal would. She growled slightly, walking off. She said, "Saeilith, I'm sorry for being angry. It's not directed at you."

Amber looked over her shoulder at Saeilith. "Shadow." She looked up at the sky. "It feels like something's not going together in my past; something I don't know that I should know. What is it? I do not know." She ran off, into the house, into her room on the second floor.

She saw Shadow there, looking out the window. She growled. "Get out of here." Shadow turned. "I just have a question for you." Amber was silent. Shadow continued. "Would you like to know what you have forgotten?" Amber nodded. "Yes, stop invading my memories, they're mine to keep." Shadow looked away. "Are you sure? The're's no going back." Amber nodded again. Shadow, while dissapearing, said, "In the night, you will remember the 300 years that you have forgotten. As you know, I cannot be your older sister because we were once one. This will make us....technically, the same 'age'." She dissapeared completely, leaving Amber to think about this night.

Saeilith followed a bit back. He would not interfere with Shadow and Amber. This way, maybe they could somehow work things out. THere was no chance though. It shouldn't be possible, with Amber as she was. He watched Shadow talk to Amber before Shadow vanished. Strange that Amber didn't seem to remember all of her memories. What could have happened all those years ago?

Amber turned to face Saeilith. "hm, you followed." She did not sound displeased. "I wonder what memories I will remember." She looked out the window at the sunset and gave Saeilith a kiss. "Tonight I will remember." She sat on her bed in the room, staring out the window. She shooed Saeilith away. "Go get aquainted with some people around here."

Late in the night, Amber remembered. She remembered; she remembered things beautiful. She remembered friendship. She, most of all, remembered people she used to know. She wondered where they all went; then she realized, they all had died. They were mortals. She ran onto a balcony. The colors of her hair and clothes were muted in the pale moonlight. She looked up at the moon, whispering names that no longer belonged to people she knew. They were gone. She was here. It was a terrible feeling.

Then she remembered pain. She remembered all the good things, and this was the bad. She remembered the blood on her hands and the faces of those she killed. She remembered losing someone she loved. She remembered things that made her heart twist and break into pieces. Tears came to her eyes. She cried on the balcony.

Saeilith smiled again, though it was not really that much of a big one. He watched for a bit, then Amber told him to leave, this was after all, her time. He left silently, trying not to make too much noise closing the door. Really now, there wasn't anything to do. Sael walked around for a bit, wondering what to do, where to go, while Amber "remembered". Sighing, Saeilith headed out the door, he walked a bit into the forest, out of the view of Amber. Then he waited.

Amber lifted her head. She roughly brushed away the tears. Crying was useless. There wasn't a point. She went downstairs, then outside the building. Shadow apeared before her. Amber turned around sharply and cast a fiery glare at Shadow. "Go away, I hate you." Shadow took a step foreward, bringing them only inches apart. She looked serious. "I can't go away. You can't escape me." Amber leaned back slightly, not wanting to be close to her. "Why not?" Shadow glared at Amber. "Don't you understand, fool?!"

"I am you! How would you possibly escape yourself?!"

Amber then realized it. She realized, once and for all, Shadow Was her. She realized that everything that she hated Shadow for was what she had done. She realized that all the memories she got back were Shadow's memories. She realized that everything Shadow made her do was what she herself did on her own will. She realized....that if she hated Shadow, she hated herself. What was the point in getting revenge if you're only killing yourself?

Amber's eyes widened. "Shadow...you really are me..." Shadow nodded. "Yes, I am.." Amber raised her hand slowly. Shadow did the same thing, and their fingertips touched.

Saeilith had really no choice but to wait. And wait, and wait and wait. When you were left to wait, you could end up walking to places where all could scream at you for coming. Where he walked was where Amber and Shadow met. While he could see them, it was obvious, that he was too into the shadows for either of them to see him. He watched them talk. Sael watched Amber figure it out, what he had figured out many months ago, what he had wanted to fix. What else could he do but watch?

Amber tilted her head to the side, Shadow mirroring it. She realized how similar they looked. They may be different in the colors of their eyes and hair, but besides that, they were strikingly similar. She and Shadow both looked in Saeilith's direction. They senced his presence. They both walked foreward, towards his hiding place. They moved at the exact same time, their movements were perfectly together. They came up to him. They  both went on either side of him, and said, "I'm sorry for all that I've done to hurt you."

He watched them approach. Saeilith felt his life flash before his eyes? What the heck? was he dying? Not even remotely possible. Well . . . maybe. It was obvious that they had sensed his presence. He could tell their mirrored movements, their obvious looks. He laughed slightly. "Pains? Hurt? Haha, you have no idea how much that I loved you then that they felt nothing more then needles." He coughed slightly. "Albeit many thousand needles, but not too painful."

They smiled and both kissed him on the cheek. They were silent, gazing at him. Then, the two smiled at each other for the first time. They extended their hands towards each other and said, "Thank you , Saeilith, I don't think we could have found peace without your help...we fought you every step of the way, but in the end, it was worth it." Their hands touched, energy forming around the hands. "Goodbye for now..." The light got bigger, then enveloped them and the area around in a blinding light. For Saeilith, everything would go black.

It was a bit strange, to have to both of them, gaze at him, and touch him. But now-a-days, strange was more normal then normal was. He couldn't speak to reply to what they said, it was as if his mouth was sealed shut. He reached out to touch them and it seemed impossible because a bright light blinded them, and they were gone.
