So here's something cool and interesting. I am going to be undertaking a project to update the map. I want as many player contributions as possible. Did you create a town or city? how about a pond, lake, forest, hill, meadow, or any other natural landscape? Is there a bloody battlefield somewhere filled with skeletons and broken weapons and armor? Is there a monument you created standing proudly to be remembered? It doesn't matter what it is, name it and send it this way. Roads, streams, lone structures, ANYTHING!!!!!!!! If you contribute it to this project, I'll work with you to place it on the map in it's appropriate place. Rhi gets veto power on everything of course since she is our ruling goddess, but we know how chill she is. This will help create more continuity for the world and aid future players in making their own mark on the world. If there are any major projects you've been thinking about undertaking, now is the time to get it approved by Rhi and throw it on the map.
I'm serious about this, and I'm doing it old school with ruler, pencil, and pen, on paper first. I have a DB400, a drafting table, two light tables, and enough pens, rulers, pencils, and markers to open a shop. Once the initial planning is done I'll draft it up. Then I'll be looking for a computer artist to assist me in digitalizing it once I scan it into my cpu. Lets get down folks.

Oh God.. I don't even think I could remember all of the things you are requesting that I've used for misc. locations of small towns, streams etc in my like 50+ rp threads >.>
The only MAIN thing I'd like to see on the map, however, are the 'Ancient Forests'; which I'll have to think into and give you a bit more details on later since it houses significant locations for a handful of my characters and so far, I've always just labeled this really old forest as 'the ancient forests' lol so yeah...

You might also want to make sure you make this as an editable, digital art file; for future edits (cause there will be edits >>; )

Those are all I can think of so far....
I'll leave that editable art file business to the digital artist I rope into it. :P
Maybe it'll be you Spice. Or Rhi might wanna do it since she is the S/RotE Goddess. I know this is a huge undertaking, but it will be fun, and it'll make lotsa peeps happy.
My only suggestion is you'll probably want to make all of the titles of locations as text files in the digital art file, since um.. there's just going to be a lot of it and if you end up writing something wrong or placing it in the wrong location on your lovely, hand drawn in BLOOD traditional artwork of the map, you might cry

Added wealthy family's house
The continental base is nearly finished. All I need to place are mountain ranges and forests. The mountains are already depicted so that won't be any challenge. The forests on the other hand are labeled on the original map, but their boundaries are not set. With the Kishahn Jungle, I'm just gonna make everything south of the desert, coast to coast rainforest. Rhi, I know you're busy with ComiCon and your SO being in town, so no rush, but I'd love for you to give me an idea of what you want the top and bottom of the continent beyond the tundra and jungle to look like. I figure if the jungle is placed there, that your equator is in that area, and that we have been playing in the northern hemisphere. I don't want to make any assumptions about the parts of the world I can't see, but I'd like to complete the coast around this continent.

There's a temple in the Northwest of the Sionad Tundra. I know I and Shea had a name for it. I will re-edit this post when I find it in our old thread. There was more information that we came up to go with it...which I have been meaning to do...haha...yeah.

Contribution from new players IS encouraged. But I'm really hoping for some Veterans, who have been here for years and have created lots of locations, or have thousands of posts, like *cough* Lion *cough*, might give me places that can truly be immortalized in SotE lore by being part of the map.

are you breaking up each country into provinces, or just labeling locations and cities?
If so, the duchies of connlaoth have their own map up on the civil war info page.
But not sure if those are needed on your larger map XD
that'll be a fantastic resource for when I start splitting apart all the countries into provinces. I'll have to bookmark it now. This first map is just a redraw of the original with more locations added to it. I plan on doing each separate country eventually. And if there is enough detail on a province or duchy, I may get into those individually. I'd love to map out major cities, like Arca, and Zantaric. That would be epic.
YO! MA PEEPS! This new map is getting dusty. I have it sitting on my art table with all my pencils and pens around it. The forests have yet to be added as they require Rhi's input on boundaries, but mountains, rivers, and locations already depicted have been drawn in their proper places. Throw me your additions lovelies.
But remembering specific new map.locations is haaarrd :U

Hmm... From the top of my head I can get some landmarks...
-Denekynia Embassy near the bottom of the Thunderblacks. Easy to miss.
-Several large shrines scattered.
-DaGlobsters character Stygia has a fort near the Denekynia Embassy.
-Anadwens character Daerian also had a fort.
-Mhmhhnhmhbhmhhh hmmhnhnzzzz.... That's it for now.
Not sure if this is still active/being worked on, but if it is...
-The Dragon Colony in the Wester Highlands of Serendipity (ask Brisinger/Hormagaunt for the exact location on this one, it's his colony)
-The Daedrothan Colony, which is in that giant group of mountains northwest of Connlaoth on the original map. If you want me to put a dot on the original map to show you I will. ^_^
-Don't know if anybody's said this, but Deadfall Towers would be a good place to have on the map too ^^

I was thinking about it and I think there need to be some rules for applying for locations. Time as a member, activity, and post number are all gonna be factors. I'm gonna talk to Rhi about it to get an official ruling on the exact numbers, but I wanna avoid putting in locs that lose relevance in short order do to random poofs. Potassium? Potassium!

I'm eligible anyway. I haven't got any proper sci-fi places to go, so you guys get me! And I have a list of things to put on the map, not a big one mind you, but a list all the same.
I have a high post count and activity... maybe not that much membership time (5 months?)... but still... does that make me more suited for putting places on the map?
So Rhi and I talked about it and it turns out Tally is working on this now, and since she won't have to bug Rhi aand herself for info like I did, it'll be much prettier and totally canon. So yeah. I'm not doing a revamp of this if Tally is gonna do one that's updated and a bit different. okay bye
