Title: Knock, Knock (Lethe)
Post by: Lion on December 05, 2013, 01:20:12 AM
Of course business had seen better days.  The war was starting to become more expensive for everyone, not just the army in it's own pathetic excuse for expense.  Tenran had pushed away the troubles from his mind that had started since the war began.  It didn't help to linger on the negative.  Ansgar's balls!  He'd had enough of that since his army days - and those were nothing to be proud of.

Despite business being terrible, Tenran knew there was a greater increase of criminals feeling free to run amok while the army went out of it's way to make a terrible day for mages.  He knew if only he got out there more, he might actually find a bounty worthy of his skills.  And just when the days turned into months, and the twins were starting to get more annoying by the week (since there was only so much he could stand of Bex and Baland even if they were trust worthy enough to be called 'friends'), Tenran found a worthy mark that looked lucrative enough to live comfortably for more than a few months.

And his name was Nathain "Bloodless" Brody - or so he'd come to be known in the last few months with a gang of ragtag bandits hiding out in the southern part of the Kilanthro mountains.  With the army occupied with the war, travelers and local farms had become easy pickings for the bandit and his gang, and the more blood he shed, the more his value was worth.

So Tenran made his way to the nearest town of Varimir, where the listing was posted near the magistrate's office.  He would need supplies of course, and with what meager money he had, Tenran managed to secure himself a map of the area, where the hideout indicated it was just about fifteen degrees northwest of his current position.  By tomorrow night he would set out, when the darkness would aid him with the arrival of a new moon.

And it came quicker than he expected.  Tenran was a professional, beyond all things, and when he left Varimir, he did so with every intention of getting the bastard as soon as possible.  The sooner he would get paid too.
