His easy demeanor and friendly nature are immediately obvious in the bright smile he tends to have at all times, there is very little that drags the lively bard down and he is almost always ready to offer a friendly word or motivating pep talk to anyone who has the fortune to cross his path while looking glum or morose. Merrill never meets strangers, every new person met is a potential connection or friend, and though he tries not to be too boisterous, he can be a bit much to contend with for people not so inclined to random people approaching them for conversation.

But he won't take a blunt rejection poorly, merely continue on his merry way to the next stranger willing to talk to him.

He always seems to have a twinkle of mischief in his eyes, and despite his outwardly friendly demeanor, the potential for a silver tongued retort is just as likely. He meets rude or ill-mannered people with infuriating kindness, but he's become a master of malicious compliance, there are a lot of ways to let someone know they're being rude without being rude yourself after all.

He's not one taken to frequent bouts of melancholy, but sometimes carries more people's burdens than anyone could feasibly handle, and Merrill has never been good at admitting when he needs someone to help him shoulder his own burdens.

Merrill is a Tief who is a hopeless romantic at heart, he finds the beauty in the most mundane things and his music often reflects the heart bursting with love for the simple wonder of being alive.
