"What I'm lookin for is difficult to describe," Esteban cooed as they walked away from his dwindling following. "I am a man in need of purpose, and when I look around I feel as if this place has the potential to help ground me. I am a wanderer in need of stability."

As he spoke his raspy voice, confident yet longing. He projected an air of sincerity, though the truth could swing either way. Esteban craved renown more than anything else, and he firmly believed setting himself up as the premiere bard in these parts would draw out eager benefactors, but it all started here.

"I will find myself a comfortable chair, perhaps at a car ms table, and avail myself of the fine drink of your establishment. When your man is ready to speak, I will be waiting," he said, drifting lazily towards a card table with empty seats. Esteban spun yo face Azrak and lifted her hand, "Until later, then," he said before kissing her hand. Then, as if he didn't have a care in the world he turned away and went to games, the tails of his jacket creating a mesmerizing display behind him.

Esteban hoped he had intrigued the woman enough to garner a meeting with the place's owner. He took out a coin and let it dance across his knuckles as he observed the game being played, before finding a break in the action. "Deal me in," he said with a jovial smile, and set himself between two gamblers, and there he would remain until his coin was gone, or he had what he'd come here for.

The excitement on Karina's face was palpable. She was so excited to be sitting here at that very moment, and her attention was entirely directed at Mollia. As she spoke, Karina took a deep breath, and nodded excitedly. "Yep, that's me. I am Karina, nice to meet you," she enunciated well, but her speech was fast as if she was trying to get out the entire sentence before running out of air, "I just can't tell you how excited I am. I mean, this is just amazing. I always love to meet new people, and I've heard a lot about you. You. Sound. Awesome. I really can't wait to see you in action.

She mimed slashing with an axe, except her staff was still in her hand, and she flourished it out to her side nearly hitting another adventurer that was passing by. "Sorry!" she shouted after him as he cursed. Karina turned sheepishly back to the Huntress and giggled, embarrassed. She turned and leaned her staff against the wall. She started to turn away and it began to fall, but to her credit, she grabbed it. Then, carefully, she propped it back up. Giving it a moment this time, Karina starred in silence, breath held. It slipped again, this time she corrected it with haste before it could move more than a few inches. A third time, chewing her bottom lip as she stared intently, it finally held firm, and she turned her attention back to Mollia with a grin as if to say, 'I won.'

Karina had a sweet face with perfectly proportioned features. Her hair was pulled back, nearly save for a few tresses that hung about her face and was braided into a long single lock that fell over her left shoulder. She was wearing a simple dark blue tunic with a corset strapped around her waist. Her sleeves were rolled up, and she wore a pair of simple trousers and riding boots. She had a cloak, but suddenly couldn't remember where she had put it, perhaps at the door when she walked in, and scattered all about her waist were a series of belts and pouches with all manner of trinkets. She also had several leather tubes belted to her waist – scroll cases, it would seem, and at least two strapped to the side of her pack that she'd sat next to her staff on the floor.

"To be honest with you I really wasn't told what exactly we were going to do, but I'm here for it. I am an excellent navigator, I have spent a lot of time in the wilds, and I'm even a fair shake when it comes to magic if I do say so myself. Hopefully I can impress you and you can put in a good word with me with the rest of the guild," she finished with a smile, hands clasped together sitting on the edge of the table. It was clear she was brimming with energy, almost to the point of shaking with excitement, but not with the anxiety associated with someone new to the job. Karina had a look of confidence on her face – whether it was well earned or simply youthful determination was yet to be seen.

Esteban settled into a comfortable settle, legs crossed at the ankles, propped up one on elbow, hands clasped. He smiled listening to two of his followers speak, and then, as if on queue, laughed along with them before turning
away to engage another of his guests. Moments passed, and again he laughed, this time clapping his hands jubilantly. Some from his party dispersed, but several still swarmed around him sharing their own stories and anecdotes. It was until a flash of blue scales moved through the group that the Bard pushed himself to his feet.

Stepping forward, he met Azrak as she pushed through his group, and hearing her voice, he couldn't help but chuckle.

"Oh no, dear me. I wouldn't be so brazen to think of myself as needing such protections. No," he reached out and took her hand, kissing it lightly in greeting, "I was simply trying to get a moment away. As you can clearly see, simply by speaking I enchant all those around me."

Flourishing his free hand, Esteban pivoted to her side, and attempted to entwine her arm with his own. "Now, this place has only recently come to my attention. But a place so grand can only be the greatest of attractions, yes? And so, it seems that an establishment such as this would  benefit from the greatest of performers. Am I wrong?"

He began to walk away from the group, "Perhaps you would like to give me a tour of the place, and give me an introduction to the visionary responsible for such a grand endeavor. I'd much like to meet with them myself."

(I'll let you handle the NPC.)

"Then, I stood on the end of the plank, hands and feet tied, and smiled at the pirate lord." A throng of people meander down the streets, hanging on to every word of those strange man. His words were like sweet nectar that they cling to intently, a gravelly and sultry voice that cooed at them in such a pleasing way. He spoke to every one of these people directly, and none of them all at once.

""I hope you'll remember this as the day you almost caught... Esteban." I said." He waggled an exaggerated finger, pretending his hands were bound.

"Then, without a warning, I jumped into the ocean below, much to the surprise of the crew. How could they expect someone like me to dive heard first into shark infested waters?" Ahead of the crowd, the Mosaic Reverie loomed every closer. The group was making its way in masse to the build following the dark skinned Essryni man. It was as if he was a piper, and people flocked as he spoke his honeyed words. Even now, they seemed to pick up more people off the street to join their group.

"And then, when they ran to the side of the ship to see my fate, they watched as I rode off on the back of a great black shark without a care in the world." All at once he stopped and flourished, standing in the doorway of the Reverie. The crowd clapped, cheered and snapped, and Esteban took a bow before turning and heading inside.

The sizable mid-day crowd suddenly turned into a horde of people all revolving around this Bard. He found himself a comfy place to sit, and then leaned over to a woman who had found herself within his group. "Be a dear and fetch me a drink," he whispered to her and off she went.

The din of the Guild Hall could be heard from blocks away as Karina meandered down the street, her heart racing. She'd come down to the Guild Hall a fortnight prior to arrange her membership, and to apply for her first assignment. "We'll be sending you with another adventurer for a time so that you'll be familiarized with our procedures, but rest assured you'll soon be running about on your own!" She recalled the Guild Porter saying to her as she toured the Hall, staff in hand. He'd seemed such a nice man, although he'd smelled of ham, and had showed her the kindness of a doting parent. A parent that sent their kids on dangerous, life threatening missions, but a parent none the less.

Now, as she stood at the doors, she couldn't help but grin and with a grunt she went to throw the doors open.

Thud.

Stumbling back clutching her jaw, Karina cursed at the heavy oak door, "Why isn't there a sign if it's a pull door."

She started jerking on the handle on one side unsuccessfully as it was indeed locked.  Suddenly, the right door opened and a small group of adventurers stepped out giving her a strange, confused look, but she just grinned sheepishly and darted inside before the door closed again. Immediately the sounds and smells of the fully filled Guild Hall assaulted her senses, and she began to giggle to herself. There were warriors in armor, grizzled veterans with blades and axes, and enchantresses with staves similar to her own, in fine silken robes. There were new recruits here, fresh green boys and girls with big dreams in her eyes, and as she meandered into the room looking all about she couldn't help but feel overwhelmed and incredibly excited all at once.

"Hey, watch it!" A large man yelled, turning around to tower over her. As she moved around, looking all about, her staff had smacked the back of his knees, nearly causing him to buckle and fall over.

Karina turned quickly to face him, her staff whirling about, and she clocked him in the chin. The big man fell back into his chair, dazed.

"Oh my, I'm so sorry," she replied quickly as she moved over to him.

In the excitement she stumbled, and stomped his foot with her boot. Balance gone, she fell into him, her elbow slamming into his solar plexus, and he yelped loudly as the wind was knocked out of him.

"It's fine!" He heaved, "I'm fine..."

"Oh my, please, I can help, this was entirely an accident!" She scrambled to her feet, but before she could do any more his two companions grabbed her arm on either side and led her away from the large man.

"It's ok, we've got him," they said.

Karina looked around as they stood her off to the side of the room, and saw that dozens were staring at the commotion, eyes wide. Feeling confused at what had just happened, Karina just shrugged and turned around, and all at once her eyes fell on the brooding warrior off on her own who she'd been instructed to meet up with. Once again, her the voice of the Guild Porter echoed in her mind, "Mollia is a bit... severe. She's a fantastic warrior, but don't expect much humor from her."

She moved over to sit down next to her, and with a broad smile on her face she said, "Hi!"

Physical Description
Standing five and a half feet tall, with beautiful porcelain skin, and long golden hair Karina always has eyes on her. And if they linger long enough, they often have the opportunity to watch her stumble and fall, or crash into a closed door. While gorgeous, she is not the most graceful. She is prone to accidents, most of which are the result of her own actions. Her clothes often have to be mended from various mishaps, and it's just as often as not that she has a bruise or two on her beautiful face. Her big blue eyes are too often buried in a book, and she doesn't notice the obvious danger in front of her. For this reason, she keeps her attire to simple travelers clothing, her hair pulled back and braided, and is armed only with a staff and one small dagger for utility purposes.

Personality
Despite the tragedy she has faced in her life, Karina always has a song in her heart. She is loving, warm, loyal, and is always more concerned with the people around her than her own well being. To her own detriment, if the situation called for it. She is a charitable person, always looking for the best in people and never their faults, with a thirst for adventure, knowledge, and new places. And there are always new friends to be found in those new places. In her mind, the world is a bountiful place for her to spread love and joy. She is, however, and bit eccentric. Coming from a frozen Tundra she always thinks that other people have strange foods and drinks. She detests tea of any form, and believes wine is a child's drink, and will always choose red meat over anything else. She is also not afraid to speak her mind, which has gotten her into trouble on more than one occasion.

Magic/Abilities
Karina is an exceptional artist and has a near perfect visual memory. She is skilled at charting maps, and sells her skills whenever possible, and has exceptional skills navigating the wilds and surviving.

As for weapons, Karina stays away from blades, for fear of hurting herself. While she is aquatinted with a bow, axe, and various other weaponry she rarely uses them. She carries a staff of rosewood that she is quite skilled with, and uses as a spellcasting focus.

In terms of magic, Karina has always been in tune with nature. She is a practitioner of Druid magics, healing and shape shifting, has an affinity with the stars. Since birth, the heavens have influenced her life, and in turn, her magic. She is able to harness starlight and moon fire to sending out powerful projectile attacks.

Relationships
Family-
Anya - Mother - Deceased
Magnus - Father - Deceased
Erik - Brother - Missing

History
Karina was born in a truly harsh winter in the far north. Her family, nomadic hunters who followed the elk, were loving, protective and loyal. They traded with other groups regularly and had a reputation for providing good meat and quality furs at good prices. The young girl absorbed her family's good nature and pride. From a young age, she was fascinated by their dealings, and was encouraged by her mother to learn as much as she could from her father.

Due to their nomadic lifestyle, she took to making maps when she came of age, which her father sold to other travelers. They marked hunting grounds and game trails for other, or used them to help guide explorers. Unfortunately, not everyone was receptive of her family's good will.

They were attacked in the dead of night. Her family, and others they traveled with, were slain. Her brother was taken by the raiders, and their women were taken as slaves. Karina managed to escape, but few others were so lucky, and had it not been for her fathers lessons she would have never survived. Karina went on to use her skills to make a name for herself, and she eventually made her way south to warmer lands.

Hi All!

You can call me Orion. I also answer to Cam, and various other insults.

I've been away from forum role play a long time. Writing has always been a passion of mine, and I have put it on the back burner long enough. So, here I am! You're welcome to ask any inappropriate or intrusive questions you want, I'll only bite a little. Also feel free to holler at me on Discord. I already joined the group.

PLAYER WANTS

What are your favorite kinds of plots and relationships to play?

Any kind. I like everything from large scale battles/wars, to adventures with a small group of players, to intimate scenes just sitting around a campfire.

What are your least favorite kinds of plots and relationships to play?

Refer to previous answers.

What are your favorite character types to play?

Heroic characters. Make or female doesn't matter, just people who get out in the world and make a difference. I like to play as adult characters in particular, not kids. I rarely play characters younger than me.

Are you a planner or a pantser? Do you prefer to pre-plan and stick to a script when posting, or do you prefer to surprise and be surprised?

A little of a and a little of b. Sometimes inspiration will strike in the moment and I'll be like... woah. Gotta do that.

How do you feel about group threads?

No problems.

How often can you reply to any given thread? How long should a partner wait before nudging you for a post?

Unless I've posted otherwise, I like to keep updated to at least once a day. Twice if life isn't kicking me in the pants.

What is the longest you're willing to wait for a reply to a thread?

Hahahah! I've waited weeks for one post just to find out we're ending a thread after that.

How do you feel about instant messenger RP?

That's ok.

Ho do you feel about post volleying/rapidfire RP?

Meh. I have to be prepared for it and know it's coming.

What's your preferred posting style? Long posts? Short posts? Anything and everything?

Varies. I usually try to post what's needed for a particular moment and don't go overboard.

Any RP styles/habits that you love?

Any RP styles/habits that you avoid?

PLAYER LIMITS

What are you limits regarding powerplay/godmoding?

Don't touch my toys without asking.

What are your limits in regards to romantic situations?

I'm fine with it either way. I'm not opposed to it but it's not why I'm here.

What are your limits with regards to graphic content such as sex, violence, drug use, sexual assault, etc? What is your comfort level?

I'm like an 6/10. Keep it classy and not overly graphic and you won't hear any complains from me.

What are your limits in regards to pregnancy within plots?

Doesn't bother me. Again, keep it classy.

What about healing?

I don't mind anything of the sort being done to an NPC, but if I've intentionally given my character a flaw or defect don't try just healing it without running it by me.

What about characters being transformed against their will?

Don't touch my toys without asking.

Anything else?

I think it's pretty self explanatory that I'm a big proponent of consent. I expect to have a conversation before anything major happens to my character. Little things don't bother me, but it can't hurt to check in.

Physical Description
Esteban is a handsome man, in his own way. He is tall and lean, with deeply tanned skin, and long dark hair that he keeps pulled into a braided pony tail. His facial features are sharp, bordering on gaunt, giving him a somewhat exotic look. He keeps his facial hair trimmed neatly into a short goatee, braided with strange runic beads, and a mustache, waxed so the ends twist upward. His choice of clothing is loose and comfortable, yet stylish, with bright colors and fine fabrics, and always with his shirt left open to show off his chest hair and numerous tattoos. Finally, he wears a variety of rings, bracelets, necklaces and earrings, all of different metals, some of which are extremely valuable, and others obviously fake, along with having simple trinkets and beads braided into his hair or sewn into his clothing.

Art by me!

Personality
Often described as colorful or eccentric, Esteban puts on a display that makes him difficult to read. He shifts from debonair rake to serious orator at the drop of a hat, and can rarely be found without a wide smile. He will attempt to get out of any bad situation with charm and diplomacy, but when push comes to shove he is not without his wiles. Esteban is a prodigious swordsman and a talented mage, who has picked up numerous techniques and abilities from all across the world. When a silver tongue is not enough a blade or two will do.

Magic/Abilities
Esteban is a skilled swordsman who wields a pair of scimitars. He wears loose lightweight clothing that allows a wide range of movement, and obscures his movements as he fights.

Magic, while not something he was naturally born with, was something he was able to learn in his travels. He has a number of elemental and illusory spells in his repertoire, and is always on the looking for new and exciting abilities.

Relationships
None, currently.

History
Esteban's history is questionable, as he has been known to embellish the details of any story he tells. A few details that never change regardless of how often he tells his tales, is that he grew up in Essryn, in a small village set around an oasis. He set forth on his adventures in his youth, traveling to the sea first and foremost, and on from there to the high mountains in the north for many more grand adventures.
