She signed, leaning her head against the cold railing, gazing at the seemingly endless sea of ice and snow. However, she didn't stay in that position for long. Something had caught her eye. In the distance, she saw a brown spot. Something was slowly moving across the tundra. The girl squinted her crimson eyes to get a better look. It was a person! Too far to determine gender or race, Mavis quickly found a solution. Seeing wanderers always excited her. Her life was dull as it was, never leaving the castle for nearly anything. SHe had always heard stories about the rest of the world. She found it hard to believe there were places that weren't covered in snow, but these travelers seemed to always have some sort of crazy adventure with them.
Mavis lifted out a hand, and suddenly, a large, white bird like spirit being formed. It had a long feathered tail that whisped behind it as it stared at Mavis with an eyeless head. "Go to that traveler, lead him to the gates! We can't let them die out in the cold." Without saying anything, the bird simply turned, and began gliding down towards the tundra to lead the man to the castle's entrance.
The girl quickly ran through the hallways, trying to find the captain. "Captain! We have a visitor! Please do let them in! They'll die in the cold!" The armoured man looked at the small girl, her face full of worry for the poor soul stuck out in the winter storm. "M'lady, we can't just let any stranger in-" He stopped, staring at her worried face. "Ugh, fine. But if they try anything, they'll be dealt with harshly." He turned and nodded at two other guards. They simply returned the nod and began running towards the gates. "OPEN THE GATES! LET THE TRAVELER IN!" He yelled as they scrambled to their places. Two guards and the captain stuck near Mavis, acting as her bodyguards...
