((OoC: Oh, great I just wrote a long post and for some reason it got all erased :/
Yup! They had some sort of problem because they lied about the 'use by date' (they're fussy about it in Japan) but I believe they're up and running again. I agree, they are good ^^))
"It was just a guess." Shou said smiling sweetly. It was good to know that she was correct. She was very glad that she had not called him 'snake' as she had first intended. He didn't seem to be the sort that'd tolerate that. "I had heard of you folks before. Just the species."
She sighed and rolled her eyes as she listened to his heated speech.
"Mr. Coatl, first of all, the folks you are talking about are probably humans and I'm NOT human. Second, my tribe has lived in the islands for years and years, and there is no record of ever fighting to gain the land (except for with the Sparshin but that's a different story) and there is also no record of living somewhere else. Maybe we lived under the control of the great roarers"-she implied him and his tribe- "but I doubt that. Anyway, if we had 'stole' your land, all you folks had to do was talk to us, and we'd have 'given' most of it back or at least made a promise of some sort. Didn't consider that, did you? Fourth, you probably have a better chance of keeping your land if you're nicer in general. Most of the folks that live here are comparably nice, from what I hear. They may act better if you make a pact with them or something." She shrugged. "Fifth, there's a village over there. I suppose that's your territory too? How do expect us to get there without passing by here?" She would have gone on for a sixth and a seventh and most likely a lot more, but she shut up for the Coatl's sake.
"Look, Mr. Coatl, we didn't know it's your territory, that can't be helped. You said yourself that you don't want to be found, or it sure sounded like it. We don't mean any harm so you should rightfully leave us alone, ne?" Shou was smiling brightly still, though it was a little dim compared to the first one. It was hard to tell whether she was making fun of them or not. She was looking forward to how he would react. Fight? Sure, she wouldn't lose, not to a couple of Coatl. She couldn't lose to anyone, not now, not until...
Not until she was able to touch her goal, the one that was such an impossibly high wall.
