CH. I – Painting a Portrait
Only moderately tall as a human, Jerec, in this form, assumed a medium slender build; athletic but not over encumbered; thin but lithe.  His body is designed for speed rather than brute strength, with springy muscles that can leap and bound at a moment’s notice.  Jerec has a number of scars across his body, where his skin has been lacerated by the claws and teeth of other animals, across his chest, on his shoulders, all over his back, and even deep shredded marks across his abdomen.

Not without its purpose, Jerec has a fierce look to him, the wolf inside never that far from the surface.  His eyes have a slightly narrow slant to them, always speculative and at a great many times, doubtful.  They are not easy eyes to convince nor are they easy to trust even if they have been convinced.  There’s always the threat of betrayal just lurking underneath their glossy iron-grey surface.  At the center of his face, his nose is straight with slightly flared nostrils.  His lips are medium full, skin darkened from the sun, matching the golden bronzed look of the rest of his skin.

And despite his heritage, he is not as hairy as might be expected.  His head is covered in mid-length, dark-maroon hair, not going past his chin, and giving him a fairly shaggy look.  He has some stubble on his face, and slight hair growth on his limbs and chest.

Hybrid Form

Jerec may also transform into a mid-stage transformation, a clear crossing between man and wolf.  In this stage, though he does not change size, his body muscles thicken and his body and face gets hairier, though it is a far cry from the thickness of fur.  His claws grow longer and denser and his canines become larger and sharper.  His brow ridge thickens and protrudes slightly, deepening the sockets of his eyes.

Full Beast Form

In his full beast form, Jerec gets much larger, standing at about seven feet tall, with a powerful build, and weighing in close to five hundred pounds.  He stands bipedal and can run on two legs as well as four.  Fur is the same dark maroon as the rest of his hair.

+ NOTABLE MARKS +
Jerec has a slash across his face, trailing from the left side of his forehead, diagonally down across the bridge of his nose and down across his cheek to end at his jaw.  It is not very deep and not readily visible when in beast form, unless one got very up close.

+ PREFERRED CLOTHING +
Because he resides mostly in the wild, Jerec is more accustomed to being in the nude, and sees no shame in it.  He does not own any clothes of his own, though he has been known to steal clothing and other accessories from travelers and merchants to better blend in when he needs to venture into a civilized location.  However, he rarely will ever steal footwear, finding them cumbersome and uncomfortable.

CH II – Mental Make-up
Sarcastic, philosophical, and cynical.  Jerec is slightly hot-headed and he knows it.  He does his best to keep his temper under control, but certain things, like getting his space invaded, can cause him to snap.  He’s very territorial and will only give out a few warnings before lashing out at those he feels threatened by.  He hates feeling like prey and the hunted, though being what he is, it is often inevitable that he becomes hunted.  But he is not the kind to remain hounded for long before he turns around to bring the fight to his aggressors.  If he is the one that starts the conflict, he will feel the need to finish it and finish it quickly.

He is a cynic in his outlook on life, and often seems to others as if he cares about nothing more than himself.  In many ways this is true, and yet, there’s so much more that he does care about that he does not often show or voice.  Though he wouldn’t call himself a protector of nature or a guardian of the forest, he has a deep seated love for the creatures that dwell there and the place that he calls his home.  He takes few things seriously, and people even less so, and often prefers the company of animals over people.

+ FAITH +
Jerec believes in the power and cruelty of nature and knows no forest god or deity.  He wouldn’t want to know one either.  Because he separates himself from the likes of other mortal men, he does not consider that it is an important facet of life.  All he has ever known was that Nature, in the end, more or less balances things out.

+ HABITS +
Jerec exhibits very wolf-like behavior, in particular his heightened sense of smell.  He reacts to smells more actively than others, and uses his sense of smell to gauge his surroundings better, and uses it on people as well.  In addition, he is also quite aloof and seemingly shy when in contact with strangers, much like a wolf; he keeps his distance but observes diligently.

CH III – Social

+ RELATIONSHIPS +
Obin, Father, hunter, deceased.
Lienna, Mother, werewolf, deceased.
Isak, Older Brother, werewolf, deceased.

CH IV – Abilities / Skills

+ LYCANTHROPE +
Jerec has two forms of transformation, though can change to any other form in between when he Changes, his hybrid form and beast form.  His hybrid form is little more than the combination of both his human and wolfish form.  His lycanthrope offers heightened speed, agility, strength, reflexes, durability, and senses, in no matter what form he assumes, though he tends not to overdo it in his human from.  He can also jump great distances and land without worry of injury.  He also has a greater resistance to diseases and poisons, though is very allergic to silver.  Because he was born into his lycanthrope, he can shift at any point he pleases, though he feels a much greater need to change during a full moon.

CH V – Gear / Equipment
Jerec does not possess any sort of survival equipment or trinkets on his person.  He survives only by what he can kill with his bare hands or steal to get by.

CH VI – Reflections of the Past
Jerec was the younger of two brothers, his brother Isak preceding him by about seven years, to Obin and Lienna.  His father was a hunter who once lived in La’marri, and his mother, a stay at home wife, who kept the fact that she was a werewolf secret from Obin since the day they met.  Their family was fairly happy, and Jerec couldn’t have known a more peaceful childhood.  But it was during that childhood that he noticed that there were times, when his father was away on his hunting excursions, that his mother would take his brother out into the wild for long periods of time.  He didn’t voice his concerns to his father, thinking nothing over it.  But he was curious and did not understand.

But he did when he turned to seven years of age, when Lienna had taken Jerec as well as his brother to teach him the truth of his heritage.  He did not believe it at first but gradually came to terms with it as he realized that he should not be afraid of who he was.  Yet, she also cautioned not to tell Obin, for though she loved him, she knew he could never be able to accept them as they truly were.  He felt hurt at the idea, for why shouldn’t his own father be able to love and accept the family that he created?  Though he was reluctant, he obeyed nonetheless.  And for a few more years he learned to hunt and to control his changes and his appetite.  That was until his mother and brother were killed by hunters on a nightly outing with silver weapons, when Jerec turned thirteen.

His father grieved drastically, not understanding why his wife and son were taken from him.  Obin grew increasingly depressed and angry, especially with Jerec, though he never explained why.  When Jerec was fourteen, he finally told Obin the truth about Lienna, and what he and Isak really were, hoping the explanation might shed some light on why they were killed and hopefully bring his father some peace.  But he was wrong.  Like Lienna had predicted, Obin grew angrier and disgusted, not only with himself but with his last remaining son.  He grew to hate Jerec and, though he did not kill him, he told him to suppress the wolf inside him.  Jerec did his best to talk to him, to make him understand that he was not a monster, but Obin would not have it.  His father no longer hunted, took to drink, and resented Jerec.  They fought constantly, until Jerec could take it no longer.

He remembered what his mother had told him, to fear not himself, but to embrace it and ran away into the night.  His father devoted the rest of his life to hunting him, though to no avail.  Jerec, eventually, grew tired of running and faced his father in a fight all too brief, killing him quickly.  He could not be sorry for what he’d done, despite the love he held for Obin.  He knew his father would never rest until either one of them was dead.  And he turned back from his life there, following the call of the wild his blood demanded.
