Eli stared at Lily as Zeina left. He realized he still wore a pout on his face and quickly smoothed his features to a neutral expression. He decided he would not work with her anymore today. Let her get a feel for the Den on her own for a while, and when she got into trouble, as everyone always did when they first arrived, he'd be ready to teach her how to fit in better. He'd be the hero.
"Well if you're so uncooperative," he said to her, remaining calm, "and disrespectful," he added with a slight raise in tone, "I'll just let you wander about on your own. Be careful though. We have some shifters and lycans, and they anger more easily than most of the, plain humans."
He looked back and forth, before adding in a whisper, "and there are rumors that a couple of the kids are actually ancient vampires." He glanced around again to make sure nobody was listening in and then went skipping off toward Alko's place. There was always fun there. "Have fun," he shouted back to her as he departed, "and don't get into any fights you can't handle."
