Tatsu had spent weeks unmoving, body a tangle of coils in the dark recesses of a deep cave in the Thunderblacks. It was peaceful, quiet with only the scents of the earth and brimstone from nearby volcanos to, the only sounds and disturbances were tiny vibrations and quakes of the rumbling peak that rose above him thousands of feet into the sky. Growing restless, he eventually tired of the inky blackness.
Twisting and uncoiling, his long body practically slithered its way out of his hole, feeling much like a serpent, and grumbling softly at such a prospect. Once on the surface he basked in the sunlight, soaking up the warmth and converting it into energy while his eyes adjusted to the brightness of the daylight. Up here he could hear the sounds of the raging beasts that Adelans typically enslaved for their mighty dragon riders. Perhaps the dragons did not view it as such, or the riders, for that matter, but what else could it be considered?
Once sufficiently warmed and energized, Tatsu lifted himself from the rocks and glided into the air, body almost swimming through the air. Feeling the wind rush by him was exhilarating, the air was dank and stuffy underground, but this was like soaring through the very heavens. He spent hours just gliding over Adelan skies, with no particular purpose in mind. Rising above the clouds he sped through the air until Adela was far behind, crossing into Serendipity, a place he had spent a great deal of time.
He was high above the forests of Ravensway when he caught the scent of blood, it was so faint he almost missed it from such a great distance, but he could sense it too. No blood was as potent as dragon blood. Long, serpentine body immediately twisted into a graceful dive. In minutes he was on the ground, body glowing as he shrank down from his dragon form into a tall, broad-shouldered human, dressed in blue and silver armor with a large sword sheathed on his back.
Strolling confidently through the trees he followed the trail of blood until he found its source, pale blue eyes gleaming slightly, the soft glow of magic radiating from their icy depths. "What have we here?" He mused in a deep, but surprisingly soft voice. He pushed a hand through his shaggy white hair, eyeing the injured creature with curiosity. Normally he would avoid other dragons, but in the case of an injured female...well, exceptions can always be made to policy.
