Ethereal-Star

It was a dark, quiet night, the stars shining through casting the silent streets below in a warm glow. A figure could be seen moving stealthily along the darkened alleyways, a sharp blade in one calloused hand as he crept his way toward his destination. He smiled a wicked smile as he got to where he was going.

Unknown to him, another figure stood at a distance covered in shadow and a dark cloak that obscured their features. This figure watched the shady man as he peered in through a window of a nearby home, completely disgusted with his actions. Morguen stood quietly in the dark, watching and waiting to make her move as she assessed the man's strengths and weaknesses, taking special note of the latter. The Fury had been called upon to exact vengeance upon this very decrepit individual by his ex-girlfriend no less. The man had been caught cheating on his girlfriend, the person he was now watching through the glassy window. Enraged and hurt, the girl had run home after making her presence known and breaking up with him on the spot, then promptly calling upon Morguen to deal him the justice he so deserved. The man of course, had no clue that he himself was being hunted, for he wanted to go in that house and show his girl some 'respect'. What the blade was for, Morguen cared not for he would not have a chance to use it. Not if all went to plan accordingly. It was scum of the earth like this that reminded very clearly to Morguen of why she had become a Fury in the first place. To dispose of walking trash like this man here. Their kind were poison to the earth, a toxic waste begging to be done away with in the most horrific ways imaginable. And that is where Morguen herself came into the picture. The girl would get her vengeance and be safe, thanks to her.

As the thug made his way to break in through a back entrance, Morguen reappeared there in a cloud of black smoke just as he was getting ready to pounce on his target. In plain view of him now, she threw back her hood, red eyes glaring coldly at him as she smiled, the smile being completely devoid of any sort of humor though. The man, now startled at the demon-like woman before him, yelled in a not so quiet voice, his voice shook as his calm and confident demeanor was carefully chipped away, piece by piece. "Who—what the hell are you?!" he stared at her, trying to appear intimidating to the Fury.

Morguen simply took a step closer to him, not breaking eye contact. "You really should exercise more caution in your dealings." she told him in a sinister, sultry voice. "As for who I am, that does not matter. Your ex-girlfriend by the way, sends her regards." She smiled a wide, wicked smile as the man looked ready to wet his pants at this proclamation.

"Whoever you are, you won't---" he started, waving his bladed weapon at her again with the intimidation factor he was trying to pull.

Morguen was not perturbed in the slightest and simply said, "Gaze upon the Face of Death, you traitorous fool!!" And with that she unleashed a huge force of red-hot flames his way from her hands which quickly latched onto him essentially burning him to a crisp before even a minute had passed.

After the event had passed, Morguen now surveyed the thick pile of ash left behind with a cruel smile of satisfaction. "Justice has been served." she stated to herself in a quiet tone.

Glancing at the house before her, she nodded once and was about ready to take her leave, when she noticed movement in the shadows about a couple blocks away. Somehow the Fury got the feeling she should hang around a bit longer before making her exit. It could prove....fruitful. And so she waited silently, putting her hood back up awaiting the newcomer's arrival.
