The wizard startled at her sight, his bony knee hitting the underside of the table with enough force to knock over his cup. The halfling snapped her head up - apparently her senses were keen enough to pick up the noise despite the din of her busy place. But as soon as her gaze fell on the spilled water, she shrugged and went back to shelving alcohol.
"I- yes. I can" His hands snaked out of his robe, as if he was trying to make a sign for affirmation to prove it. The realisation that she was asking about his capacity to understand it, rather than use it, so he just ended up twisting his fingers together in a sloppy knot. "Shall we go? Or stay." He kept glancing around, as if expecting something to jump out at him - or if he was just trying to twist his own neck.
