"I'll take that as a 'thanks, Shenpai'," the terramancer crooned, propping her hands up behind her head. And so, several moure hours passed.

Until the loud rattling of chains resounded. Most likely, loud enough to wake Lily and pull Shen back from daydreaming. Shouting was heard, before heavily armoured boots made their way down the stairs. With another prisoner.

Lily barely raised her head as she was jerked back to consciousness, glaring out into the darkness.

And in they dragged a robed mage. One who seemed more than familiar. It was none other than Claw, tied up with nothing less than metal chains. One mordecai dragging him in by one that was tied to his neck. They kicked the back of his knee infront of their cell.

"He knew you left. But he didn't inform anyone. And, well. We'll just have to show you what happens then," the mordecai stated. In the background, the cracking of a whip resounded as a torturer walked up as well.

"Oh, we dare very much so." And so, the mordecai influence slowly descended. As breathing got more difficult for the trio of mages. Another crack of the whip. But this time, it struck flesh and caused a pained grunt, followed by Claw's face being slammed against the railing. Mask cracking slightly. "You have nothing to command here, mage," he spat.

Lily's eyes flashed.

And she fought back.

Her magic exploded out, sheer rage lending her power and rising up against the mordecai aura, neutralizing it for a few moments. Raging circle around her and the other two mages, creating a barrier.

She stared the guards down, even as blood began to drip from her nose and all color drained from her face with the effort it took to maintain the magic.

It took but the blink of an eye for the two mordecai to react. Shields and swords were immediately brandished. Steel barriers raised protectively to catch any debris that might come their way. Any stray flames or lashes of the wind. After all, they were still highly trained. And where their aura failed, they had a massive set of armour and a shield just for that.

The elite of the connloathian army after all.

The mordecai looked back to her. Not deterred in the slightest. They knew her magic was tiring and unstable. The signs were more than obvious. So it was merely a matter of time.

The torturer had a less fortunate consequence to Lily's outburt. He took the brunt of it and was flung across the room, slammed into a wall. And unmoving the entire time.

Lily was powerful but untrained. She couldn't hold onto the magic, and without a word she collapsed, blood running from her nose and eyes rolled back in her head.

Shen, who had gotten hit with a stray chain in the face, immediately rushed over to Lily, pulling her up on her knees and cradling her with one hand. She looked at the armoured soldiers, then at Claw being chained to the bars.

They needed to escape this place. Despite her fear, despite their squabbles. This place would be the dead of them. She took a deep breath, looking at the soldiers who seemed to draw away as well, taking the wounded torturer with him.

The younger mage was limp in her arms, unconscious and muttered something unintelligible under her breath.
